  1. Is this societal stereotyping by any chance??
  2. Del did the job he was hired for and we are very grateful to him and Tony for that. It was not an easy ride though as this interview with Del about the season just gone reveals. We finished on a high and we are all looking forward to next season. Hopefully West Brom won't steal him from us. Hope you guys enjoy him when he visits on the pre-season tour! Btw why not join the six St Johnstone fans who have signed-up for our football fan website. You are currently our only Scottish supporters, though we have 12 fans of various Italian clubs.
  3. Hi mate, I only just saw your message! Sorry about that. Only 7 months late! No, I haven't heard about the Cider Army Glasgow Division! But it would make a fantastic story on my website www.footballfanweb.com Love stuff like this. Tony

  4. Cheers mate! Want to spread it far and wide geographically speaking, to get football fans connecting-up with each other. Someone from Estonia signed-up today. Deffo want to get smaller clubs involved so I'll contact Scottish clubs in the lower leagues. I'd like to feature some fanzines as well, especially more obscure ones. Fanzine editors can create a page on the site to show their fanzine. Who knows what will come of it ***.
  5. I think the demands week-in week-out on a Championship team might have come as a shock. Also, think the purse strings were tightened a bit at the same time. His brief was to keep us up and if he does that I think he'll be given a budget. One thing about Del, he comes across as a very thoughtful manager. The other thing, his tactical sense has really improved. He rotated the squad for the two Easter games brilliantly, to balance the loanees and the crocks we have: we had to win both of those and we did. Thanks for taking a look at the site. Let me know if you have any comments or questions or suggestions.
  6. Thanks for the comments! Be great to have some Scots on the site. Also I'd really like to have people from smaller clubs like us. There is a section for Football Songs - be good to see yours on there - they'd be the first from a Scottish club. When Del took over we had a great run, then it went as flat as a pancake. He played some very negative football and everyone was calling for 442. He adopted that, got in some loans and somehow turned Bristol Titanic City away from the iceberg of relegation. It's not over yet, but only a couple of weeks ago people were looking at who we'd be playing in League 1. He has visibly aged though! But I have high hopes of him, given a budget and his own summer.
  7. Bristol City fan here. Looks like your ex-gaffer will keep us in the Championship after all. We looked dead in February but he managed to create a mini revival. I think he and the Doc had something of a shock when they came to Ashton Gate, both in terms of how s**t things were and the standard of the Championship. Let's hope (without counting chickens) they can really make their mark over the summer. While I'm here I wanted to tell you all that this week I launched a new footballing community site called www.footballfanweb.com . One of the main ideas of the site is help Exiles connect with each other. In the site you could search for St Johnstone fans whever you live, connect with them and arrange to meet-up, car-share to away games etc. There are hardly any users now because the site is only a few days old, but as it gathers momentum the network will grow. We just need people to join to get the ball rolling. Would you consider taking a look at the site? I'd be really interested in your opinion as an 'Exile'. It's not just for Exiles though. Football Fan Web is a bit like Facebook, but totally focused on football fans. Football Fan Web provides a lot of features: * You can create 'Pages' for anything, football club, to advertise a fanzine or organisation, etc * There is a Football Songs section complete with video etc which you can add to * Fun stuff like a Football Jokes section * There is an area where you can write blogs (am really interested in opinions) * There are forums * There's Video chat * And more. I'm doing Football Fan Web off my own bat. I am an exile living in Italy and I thought something like this would be useful to the football supporter community. www.footballfanweb.com
  8. I utterly despise the blue scum (just for the record) and I'm saying that with 3/4s of my family supporting them. And it has nothing to do with the fact that when I was 13 I got caught outside their ground after we beat them 2-1 and got a smack in the face and my scarf nicked. They were scum before that. Gypos.
  9. The closest we've come to European football is the Anglo Scottish Cup back in the 1970s. I enjoyed that as a kid and kept an eye out for Heart's results from then on for a few years. So yeah, give us a wave and send us a postcard.
  10. Have you ever come into contact with the Cider Army Glasgow Division?

  11. It's one thing being a small fish in a very large and competitive pond (us), it's quite another to be a small fish in a small pond (you). No offence.
