    OTD 1960 Saints scored 6 first half goals when the defeated Falkirk 7 - 1 in a League Cup match at Muirton Park. Goalscorers were John Docherty, Ian Gardiner with 4, Alex Ferguson and Joe Carr. The Saints team that day was: Billy Taylor, Charlie McFadyen, Hugh Neil, Jimmy Walker, Jim Little, Jim Lachlan, Matt McVittie, John Docherty, Ian Gardiner, Alex Ferguson and Joe Carr.
