The only pride in the shirt comes from supporters, for every Jim Weir, Roddy, Paul Cherry etc, there are plenty who just go through the motions and pick up their wage. For every one good game I have seen of the "A" league, I have seen 3 crap ones. Because of the time differences with in OZ, every game of every round is live on fox sports (our skysports, both owned by Murdoch) each and every week.

The exchange rate between Aus and the UK is the big clincher, if the club was to offer say 300 pound a week for example, that is almost 1000 Aus dollars, and I know a player who plays for Sydney FC and he is roughly on 700 a week before tax and he also works part time at a pub to supplement his wages. Dwight Yorke, Benito Carboni, Romario, for example are the marquee players who have earnt or are currently earning the really big money the rest are not on that great amount, especially as there is a cealing cap on player payments in this league

Would you really trust him to be clean? He went on trial at a div 3 club down south and was punted for an off the field incident. At his best he was brilliant, but that was many many years ago long before Charlie and his mate Ecca were on the scene. If the club wants a good keeper they should look at the Sydney FC keeper Clint Bolton, I really rate him and he would do the job easily at Div 1 level.
