  1. There seems to be real apathy towards this game; shame, we usually take a decent crowd through to Dens. Dundee have loads to play for and will be up for a real fight and after the last doing we gave them they will will fired up. I hope Tommy is still pi**ed off about Zandergate and has the lads ready to put up a good performance.

    Mannus

    Joe Kerr Ando

    Foster Spoony Liam Willock Tanser

    Williams  McLean

Amazing they spent five hours on that. What a waste of time.

No wonder fans consider there to be a conspiracy in Scottish football. How anyone can hand out a 2 match ban to the person assaulted and reduce the ban to the offender beggars belief.

Oh well, this will add more spice to the match on Saturday. I'd like to see St. Johnsone talk this game up and try and get another decent showing of the fans up to Dens.

Brown has to let Wright spend money this Summer, no excuses. This is exactly the situation the "rainy day fund" is here for, to help rebuild when we lose a chunk of key players.

Millar, Davidson and MacLean could all be away, we won't replace them cheaply.

I'm not sure that everyone was on board with keeping Macca anyway. As big a loss as he is we have had the best from him - I wanted him for another season alongside Ando. Muzz going is a huge loss and this should have been addressed earlier.

Keeping Alston is now a priority and I suspect Liam will be offered another year too.

Everyone and their dog is looking for that elusive striker and we don't have money for proven top players and when you see what wages Hearts are paying for Naismith and his meager return it's a lottery anyway.

  4. Saints welcome a very tidy Motherwell side to Perth and we will have our hands full if we want to get 3 points from this.

Last weeks pretty lame performance should mean some changes and with Alston now out for the season there will be some musical chairs with the squad. The ' Well are a very physical side so Kane and Denny up front, Macca drops behind and maybe Ricky Foster being pushed up in to midfield to help out.

This game could go either way.

Yeah I agree and attended against my better judgement... my point was .. restricted view further restricted by folk standing... we moved then some more folk stood up... we did shout ‘sit doon’ which was ignored.. I am not a killjoy so didn’t want to make a big deal about it, but by the same token didn’t want to spend the game moving around.  It has to be said the stewards weren’t telling folk to sit down either.. still stick to my point these folk were particularly selfish... they could have ‘stood’ at the back...

Fair point. I wasn't up this weekend but  sympathize with your issue. This ground needs a bomb.

  6. Good performance all round and a pity we didn't win more convincingly. Pitch was very soft and this hampered us but we were in control all night. Some great crosses went in to the box all night but frustratingly the second ball just didn't fall to us.

I read already that some are calling for a cull on our more experienced players but last night the contribution from Ando, Muzz, Craig and the excellent McLean couldn't go unnoticed.

If you asked me six months ago if I would want to keep Ando and Craig I would have balked but they really are excellent pros and I think we need to keep them for another campaign. To let Macca go would be madness.

Great to see young Kerr and Tanser start to get some quality playing time they are going to be great for us. Alston is another who will be a solid player for us next year.

Thompson's attitude towards Saints will be interesting now. I didn't hear it but apparently he had a right good spat with TW live on air and has since claimed TW phoned the BBC to complain about him! Thompson seemed to be relaying McCann's version of events (which had been fed to him) as being the truth, which obviously TW took issue with.

Is he going to be looking to stick the boot into Saints whenever possible now?

I was kind of expecting something from Thompson when he reviewed the Saints game on Sunday but I have to say he was pretty balanced and fair in his assessment.

Indeed on Friday evening pregame TW got fired in to McCann about accusing him of reporting him to the SFA and then turned on Thommo after he had been given the fracas details from his good pal -McCann! TW didn't hold back and in turn Thompson let fly at Tommy calling him "thin-skinned".

on the back of all this the game at McD against Dundee is going to be a fraught affair!

well maybe the right time to thank Tommy for magnificent previous run.

Lets be honest haven't we all forgot just how far we have come over the last few years? For us still to be involved for a top six place for so long having been struggling  to find a striker and with our injuries is remarkable. Hopefully we can negotiate the rest of the season and recoup for another season in the top flight.

I think TW (with Lomas) released Gartland without giving him an opportunity. His career after he left us hardly proved them wrong but from their interactions this season, it does look like there is no love lost there.

McCann should have sucked it up and shook hands with everyone but it's easy to say. Saints have shown themselves to be bad losers at times as well - Aberdeen dressing room incident - so we can't take too much of the moral high ground.

    Well said.

I also hate all that " sacked in the morning" and " going down" cr*p - we should be above that.

  10. Great performance and back to that hungry team, closing down the opposition that I love.

Thought Joe had a great game - I like  him here, he was very comfortable. Whole team were outstanding but I'm singling out 2 players for special mention and they are Alston and Kane.  I've heard some negative clap trap about Alston in recent weeks but I'll back him to to hilt  - he has lots to  offer and in the next few weeks I think we'll see him grow in confidence he was brilliant yesterday. I was moaning earlier in the season about Kane being let out on loan - I think he is huge star in the making for us and he looked like a dangerous old fashioned center forward holding up play and giving the Dundee rearguard a headache all day - he's made that position his own now.

Poor turn out from us - we usually take at least a 1000 but the weather was grim and combination of poor recent form and the rugby being on the telly accounted for a lot of absentees.

I enjoyed an after match pint with some work colleagues ( all Dee fans) at the Dundee club on the Hilltown and they were right down in the mouth and I was purring at the compliments about how we played.

Hope at the end of the season I am proved to be wrong but I just feel that we are certain to finish in the bottom two.

It has been obvious for so long we have needed a proven striker and we have failed to get one.

This is going to cost us.

Won't make the game tomorrow but wish the team all the best COYS

    Prove me wrong please

We could all do with pulling together. This game is going to be a battle of attrition with probably few chances and a lot of physical endeavor.

We usually get a good turnout for this away game - lets behind the boys.

St.Johnstone - you are due our faithful following a decent performance in Dundee - let it be tomorrow please.

  12. Well, strange to believe we started the season on such a high at this place with a nice win before a nice wee run to see us right up there at the top of the league. Would be nice to replicate that win to set us up for a strong finish to the season.

No Macca, Muzz got to be a doubt. Will be interesting to see how TW approaches this game - we could easily win it if we are in the mood.

  13. RIP Alex,

Great servant and as someone earlier alluded to one of my lasting memories of Alex was banging in the winner against Rangers at Muirton- we played in red and white that day. Thanks for the memories.

Could not agree with you more.. sectarian crap.... no room for it in a civilised society... it’s what puts me off wanting to attend old firm games... between God Save the Queen and anti IRA songs plus a bad performance from our team not much to cheer about.. don’t like singling out one person, but Mannus was dreadful.... all round sub par performance from the whole team.  Can’t help but think TW has faux pas’d letting Paton go.. never mind there’s a real big game on Saturday....

    COYS

All fair points. I like Mannus and thought he was coming back to his best but he looked awful! The free kick was very poor he set up the wall and then went down like a foldy up camp bed.

Rangers were pretty strong throughout the pitch so we cant read too much in to this doing- we have bigger fish to fry.

  15. I really hope the club can do something about entry to the ground and parking in general.

I was going  to go tomorrow night but I can't face that approach to the ground at night and when the old firm are there the parking is a joke. I've tried every way possible to try to ease the parking angst -  Park at McD, parking in Tesco, parking away from the ground around the Tulloch but it's still a pain in the ass. I bet I'm not the only one who's attendance at games is comprised by the parking and approach chaos. The crowd on Saturday was pretty poor but getting out the ground was still grim.

  16. What a smashing win.  Everyone in the media lamenting about  County's  poor  showing; did we we press them in to this performance or are they really this bad? A couple weeks back I know a few Dees fan who were saying Ross would miss the drop.  Lots of points still to play for but if we keep this focus we should miss the danger of getting dragged in to any trouble.

  17. Comrie is a real star in the making; very composed and provides a real threat going forward. I think he will fit in well and I expect him to really grab his chance. Foster has been a good player for us and maybe an early close season for him will mean he will be back fresher than ever - I'm not convinced starting the season so early every year for isn't catching up with us.
