Del and Doc went down on the piss-poor performances and results... ... I can't say that I disagree with your final comment, though....

I'll tell you what a sign of madness is... ...constantly changing formation, tactics, personnel and generally tinkering (for tinkering read "dismantling") EVERY SINGLE GAME, even after the rarest decent performance or even rarer win/draw. This is why I have no sympathy for Del. I have never seen a manager so embarrassingly out of his depth before. It IS a shame though... as some of my fellow reds have stated, he does seem to be a genuinely nice guy. For this I wish him well in the future.
  3. You can probably have him back now guys... ...any idea what he looks like??...

When I started this thread last season I could not see any way that DM could keep us up. I was absolutely delighted to eat humble pie when we somehow escaped relegation, and I like most City fans thought that the worst was over. Once Del had a summer to shape his own squad we would surely be comfortably mid-table. Unfortunately, it would seem that last season's Houdini act was little more than a fluke. Not only are we firmly entrenched in a desperate battle for survival already this season, but the team has no shape, organisation or discipline, and individuals seem to have completely forgotten how to perform even the most fundamental basics of their roles that were second nature even in the less than light days of Keith Millen's reign. This, coupled with DM's obsession with employing his transfer kitty on un-necessary strikers and ignoring gaping holes in midfield and defence has alerted a majority of the Ashton Gate faithful to the managers at best naivety and at worst incompetence. I have been proved wrong once on this thread. Sad to say history will not repeat itself. McInnes MUST go, or we will not only be in League One, but staring down the barrel of the basement division.
  5. Hi Saints. Just thought I'd let you know that apparently McInnes said in an interview this morning, "we are not currently looking at players from the SPL. We are looking elsewhere, more specifically players from the top leagues in England". So I don't think Sandaza or any more of your players will be coming to us...

If you are referring to me, please show where in any of my posts I have asked for his removal. We are doomed to relegation, and changing managers now will not help, but rather hasten that. All that I have stated is my disappointment in his ability to instil some passion. If he is out of his depth, tactically clueless and unable to identify or solve the problems that we have, then so be it. I wouldn't necessarily blame him for that over the board. What I do lay at his door is the inability to send his players out with any fire in their bellies.

OK. I'll say it again. There are not many City fans that are demanding "bright attacking footie". Pretty much every City fan I know would be delighted to stay up by 'winning ugly'. In order to do that, you need your squad to have some 'fight' about them. That 'fight' is (or is not) installed by the manager. Oh, and our 'top striker' (as you referred to him) was "allegedly" a 'big time Charlie' with an appalling attitude that caused friction within the camp who's performances were "allegedly" half-arsed. Del Boy stuck with him though, despite the presence on the bench of a prolific scorer that was champing at the bit... Please don't get me wrong... nobody will be happier than me if DmC lives up to his billing...

A I said Edstar, I didn't and still don't expect him (or anyone else for that matter) to keep us up. It's the manner of our defeats and total lack of fight and motivation that is the big disappoinment. Anyway, up the Saints!!..

Sorry guys, but it's not working out... I don't know if Del's remit was to keep us up... it wasn't in my book, but the one thing I did expect of him was to galvanise the squad and instil some pride and passion. He seems totally unable to motivate and not only are we going down without a fight, I see nothing to suggest that he will be able to get us up for a promotion challenge in League One. He may not have had the chance to build his own team yet, but it is surely no good building any team if you cannot motivate them. Sorry to say it, but you can have him back if you like.
  12. Derek McInnes getting seriously questioned amongst Bristol City fans, especially with his obsession with one up front. I have resigned myself to our relegation this season. By and large, I don't blame DM for it, but some of our fans do. If any of you care, could you enlighten us as to why he would keep our only prolific goalscorer on the bench, while playing 4-5-1?? This is my one issue with him. P.S. UP THE SAINTS!!!

  14. Well done Saints! Cracking away win. Look forward to seeing Sandaza's goal, sounds a belter. And Del and Doc take us six points clear of the drop zone... ...great afternoon all round!
  15. C'mon City and Saints! Two away wins and Sunday night off work for me... lovely jubbly.
  16. Gutted. Was looking forward to getting to know a bit about your boys.
  17. Will be watching tomorrow night in my local. Come on you Saints!!
  18. Glad your waiting is nearly over folks. Will be watching with interest. Hope the new guys can carry on where Del and Doc left off!
  19. Absolutely spot on, and thanks to 'Saintly Child' who popped over with his support tonight as well.
  20. You may be right. He started well for us but seems to have gone off the boil. Maybe why he has had so many clubs. Nonetheless, we have enough strikers.
  21. Sorry guys, we have John Stead and Ryan Taylor. We dont need Parkin. Don't know where this has come from, but I suspect it's either lazy journalism or someone pissing in the wind.
  22. Yeah, sod her... ...Up the J's!!!
  23. Thank you. Appreciate the sentiment, although that is serious Gas turf!
