  1. St.Johnstone v Eskisehirspor Ist leg at McDairmid Park Turkish Superligue team finished 6th last season,Kris Boyd signed to play for them but didnt play as never got payed
  2. I would rather have gone for Rory McCallister, but you have to give him a chance to prove himself, possibly a replacement for Parkin until he is fit.
  3. 4-3-1-2 ................Enckleman........................ .....Mackay.......Wright........McCracken..........C.Davidson..... ......................J.Morris........................... ...............C.Miller...............................M.Davidson....... .........................D.Robertson.............................. .................S. Higgins...........R.Mcallister/C.Finnegan.... Subs Haber Craig Anderson Moon M.Mculloch(gk)
  4. According to todays evening telegraph,we have signed Carl Finnegan on a 1 year deal. The ex Falkirk striker!!!! Not on official site yet though
  5. Was a bot annoyed when he left,as i thought he could still give us something when fit, certainly this season anyway, and has gone on to prove that at Dunfermline with 8 goals in 7 games, maybe only Div 1 but could still have done a job for us.Any thoughts?
  6. What i meant by that was,in January transfer window i got slated on here for saying we need a top striker and Geoff Brown should splash out and get Leigh Griffiths which would possible take us into top 6 and a cup final.18 goals we have scored this season, think maybe i was talking sense
  7. Our best player by far is Murray Davidson, and if rumours are correct Rangers are sniffing around him,so that is a worry. We need to get rid of players who are not willing to give 100% for the club,i would let the younger players play the last few games, although we technically still need a point to be mathematically safe from relegation if Hamilton win all there last 5 games ***
  8. I think the 4-4-2 formation in the 2nd half proved we should have started with that formation, aslong as our 2 wide players tracked back to cover their quick players out wide,as we actually done okay in the 2nd half, but that was too late. Would have been interesting to know if Invincible chance had gone in,how the game would have went then??? Give Del a break though, the players are at fault, did not perform and as i keep saying on here,we need a top striker
  9. Think maybe to be fair to Del,the pitch has been a nightmare for us,even the away teams have not been scoring on it,maybe explains why we have a great defensive record at home.,but lets hope our forward players get their shooting boots on at hampden next week,as Motherwell have been free scoring recently
  10. I made a comment in Jamuary transfer window about the need to splash some cash on a striker, also naming Leigh Griffiths as an example, quite a few made a comment on here about not needing to do this,im starting to worry now with the Semi final next Saturday, what a chance to get to a final, yet with our lack of goals who the the hell is going to score next week??? Think we might regret not buying a decent finisher like Leigh,or even trying to get someone on loan
  11. Geoff Brown thinks the game will be off, just heard interview on Radio Scotland
  12. Does anyone know if there are any highlights of last nights match anywhere?
  13. Didnt say that it did work like that, are you really that stupid You obviously go about it the correct way
  14. Well said MAINSTAND,at last another fan talking some sense
  15. Leigh Griffiths would score 15 goals at least for us,and wolves would pay for some of his wages, thats an obvious example, plus dont need a great deal of knowledge to realise we are not scoring goals this season, last season we did,but were conceding more also.
  16. Yeh shut the thread, who put you in charge, this is ment for opinions. We are hardly going to end up like Gretna or Dundee getting one striker on loan, just a typical example of another fan on here talking out of their rear end
  17. SLICK DT,what planet are you from, not having a clue how to run a club??? I think you will find i have a lot more knowledge of football than you think. All i am suggesting is that we get a top striker on loan that could change our season,we will not get away with not scoring goals all season, this is not a typical Saturday night after defeat thread, the recent matches tells us all we need to know. Peaso is probably the only really decent striker we have, apart from Stevie May if you want to include him,we need someone,i hate to say it again, like Lee Griffiths,a goal poacher,i want guarantee he would score 15 goals at least for us if we got him till end of the season
  18. Agree to that, but im sure we could afford to get one top striker in,which would make the difference to have a big season,4th place finish is possible this season,Kilmarnock are away to loose their best players,Utd are nothing special. Our current strikers wont score near 20 a season, our top scorer has 5 Think that says it all!!!
  19. I think its time for Geoff Brown to deliver,on limited budget Del Boy has done wonders, but how much do we need a top striker, its so obvious. The goals for this season is absolutely shocking, and if it was not for the defence keeping the other teams out we would be near the bottom of the league. If we could get 1 top striker in,the chances we create every week,we could make the top 4,never mind the top 6. And we would get money back, instead once again we will plod on with the same squad and stay in the bottom 6 again, might even get dragged into the relegation fight. CMON BROWN TIME TO DELIVER
  20. POSTED ON DAILY RECORD WEBSITE-TODAY St Johnstone in shock move to land Dundee ace Leigh Griffiths .. after he completes Wolves move Jan 14 2011 By Anthony Haggerty LEIGH GRIFFITHS could head straight back to Scotland and join St Johnstone on loan after he seals his transfer to Wolves. The English Premiership side are expected to complete a £150,000 deal for the Dundee hitman today but have made it clear they see him as a player for the future. Dens chiefs had been hoping Wolves would loan the 20-year-old back to them but the SFL refused to give the OK because the Division One club are in administration and not allowed to make signings. Now McDiarmid Park chief Geoff Brown is trying to lure Griffiths to Perth as soon as he finalises his move to Molineux. That is likely to further anger the Dens Park outfit who are furious at being forced to cash in on their prize asset. The club will today make a last-ditch appeal against the SFL's 25-point penalty for entering administration and wanted Griffiths back to help their battle for survival. But while Wolves boss Mick McCarthy may allow the 20-year-old to go out on loan, it will not be to Dundee. McCarthy warned Wolves fans not to expect too much of their new signing too soon. He said: "We're not signing a Premier League striker who is going to come in and rip it up straight away. "But Leigh has a good scoring record and could be a little gem."
  21. This is good news if true!!! Living in Scumdee, i have had 3 texts from dundee fans i know this morning, absolutely raging that he might be coming to Saints
  22. Maybe if Geoff Brown's horse wins tomorrow in the Welsh Grand National, then he could buy Griffiths with the winnings-Silver by Nature running at Chepstow. In the paper odds of 14/1
  23. No ***,im just being sensible, big chance to get him for reasonable fee,how many goals have we scored this season,he would be a major coup to get him, wherever he goes he will score goals, and being in Scumdee have been winding them up that we would get him for ages.
  24. As Brown refused to let Hearts reduce ticket prices for Sundays match,im sure the money Saints make of that would pay a lot towards buying him? Might even get a replay out of it,more money
  25. We would get whatever we paid for him back,he is young, getting noticed by Scotland now, with Dundees situation just now would get him pretty cheap,he would score goals, that would probably mean top 6 ,get more money for that, its a no brainer.
