  1. Definitely Davidson. Jacko tried hard & was unlucky not to score. Noticed that Sammy & Peaso were not on the bench. I've heard that Peaso is for the chop but don't know how reliable the info is. Del has a big job on his hands turning things around for next season.
  2. Embarrassed by our performance. Agree with most of what's been said. We missed Millar & Davidson was our strand out player. Grainger coped much better than Mackay with their pace down the wings. Craig must be glad he signed that 2 yr extension cos he wouldn't be offered it now!
  3. Millar for me. Doobs & Mackay comfortable without really being tested. Craig below par.
  4. In the PA report on the Hamilton game there seemed to be a hint that if they went down we'd be interested in Mensing.
  5. That's correct, they were going to let him go to a lower league team. Also even the best managers get it wrong. When Fergie was manager of St Mirren he told a McCoist, who was training with them, that he was too small to make it in the game. So McCoist moved on to Saints.
  6. Also heard how he treated 1 of the young players at Stirling & have to agree that he was an a***hole
  7. Vinny Arkins played a few games I know but he was honking & soon moved on. Celtic were rumoured to be interested in signing him (must have been his agent that spread the rumour!) but we jumped in.
  8. Invincible just shaded it for me with Davidson a close 2nd. Unfortunately our inability to score looks like it's going to cost us a top 6 place. Should have hammered Aberdeen on Wed & missed some good chances today.
  9. Or Grainger who I think is also out of contract in May
  10. Muzz for me. Some of his tackles were superb. Ando & Doobs were also solid at the back.
  11. Parkin useless again. I'd give Savo and/or Dobie a chance again even if it's only a place on the bench. Nobody is scoring regularly so give everyone another go. Del signed 3 strikers this season: Haber who looked promising but unfortunately was injured & is gone, Dobie who was given a few games & then was told he could leave & Parkin who is played as a target man but who isn't up to the job. In fact when he signed he said in the press 'I am not a target man'.
  12. Sammy for me. Looked sharp & back to his best. However May, Doobs, Ando & Miller all put in good performances.
  13. Everyone I spoke to said the same thing as we trugded out at FT - Parkin can't time his jumps properly when going for a high ball. He was really poor on Sat & Sammy hasn't been the same since coming back from injury. If Savo can't find a place on the bench with that powder puff attack on the park then he must be awful on the training pitch. Del keeps singing the praises of Parkin but I can't see him as the answer to our goal scoring problem. Here's hoping we manage to bring someone in before the end of Jan.
  14. Del has made the point in both those papers that GB is concerned about the squad size/wage bill. He made the point that GB has always looked after the club's best interests & therefore he, as manager, has to respect that.
  15. Yes but even the PA reckoned the 3100+ attendance for our 1st home game since mid-Nov could have been better. We currently have the 2nd lowest average gates in the SPL so perhaps GB is slightly concerned about finances & the wage bill.
  16. Was pretty poor in the air yesterday & missed a couple of decent chances. Having signed him for 2 yrs Del has to persist with him but I've yet to be convinced. Looks sluggish at times. Peaso looked sharper yesterday.
  17. According to yesterday's Sunday Herald GB was saying that the recent spell of weather had impacted badly on our finances & also that in the summer Del may have to make cuts to the squad. Can't see us making any major signings in Jan.
  18. Agree about Savo. Del made it clear at a meet the manager in Sept that he thought Savo was surplus to requirements & didn't play him much. He signed Dobie for the season then hardly played him, waste of money & JMW was another waste of cash.
  19. Taylor's impressed me more than JMW. Don't think he's done enough to warrant a longer stay.
  20. £100m required to pay for this most of which would come from the Scottish govt. The budget for roads has been slashed due to public spending cuts. Given that they need to find £1.5bn for a new Forth bridge & that money for making the A9 a full dual carriageway has been slashed (& will probably now take years before it's completed) I'd be surprised if the cash for the bypass & bridge for Perth appears within the next decade.
  21. Taylor much better than JMW but still lacking with his crosses at times. Our midfield looked stronger with Adam & Davidson alongside Jody. Taylor also tackles much better/more than JMW. The pull back on Sammy in the 1st half could have been a red card esp. in comparison with the 'hand ball' awarded against Adam. Much more encouraging performance by Saints though.
  22. Agree with Broon. Nothing to do with luck. Motherwell outplayed us at McD & they did it again last night. Hearts will be up for it after beating Celtic so it'll be another hard game on Sat.
  23. As well as Taylor where's Dobie? Is he injured? If Adams hadn't been sent back to Dundee he might've been in with a chance of playing on Sat given our injury problems in midfield. JMW is too lightweight & didn't make any attempt to tackle on Sat. Our midfield struggled to cope without Davidson & Jody.
  24. Didn't hear the 'woof woof' chants but am ashamed that it occurred. Certainly heard the obnoxious chants from the Celtic fans in the Ormond stand.
  25. Davidson for me although Grainger, Millar & Parkin also played well.
