  1. Del said both Morais & Swankie can & like playing left cos it gives them the option of cutting inside & shooting/crossing with their right foot. Morais himself said he is equally adept with either foot so can play either side. I thought Craig played well against Motherwell & am surprised he hasn't featured more however as Del has said we have a bigger squad now & there'll be tactical changes made to suit each game so some players are going to be disappointed if they're not playing. I'm sure Craig will get his chance again.
  2. I never understand why fans boo individual players - is that going to make them play better? Criticise their performance after the game by all means but consistently booing a player only helps the opposition.
  3. Baltacha, Morton, JP McBryde, O'Neil, Hartley, Sammy Johnston, John Brogan, Attila Sekerlioglu, Momo, Sheerin.
  4. Yeah i remember him scoring a cracker but can't remember the opposition. Pelosi was a total headcase.
  5. Savo definitely, McCoist & the late Drew Rutherford.
  6. I've never understood the criticism of Millar. As for Irvine, he played well most of last season but some people were carrying on like our failure to re-sign him would be an absolute disaster. So far it looks like Mackay is going to give him a run for his money for the RB slot & he's going to have to improve a lot on his perfomance against Celtic & his limited spell v Hearts. If his agreeing to only sign a 1 yr deal was cos he thought he'd earn a move to a bigger club then he's taken a gamble IMO cos there's been many better performers for Saints so far.
  7. Well, when the question was asked there was a sharp intake of breath from Stewart Duff (meaning 'no way'). Everyone laughed & Del went down the route of he didn't expect to make any more signings & he was happy with what he had. So if we do sign Russell Anderson, Fleck or anyone else GB has had a change of heart.
  8. Del said last week there'd be no more signings.
  9. Thought Sammy just shaded it from Davidson. Great pace & strength on the ball despite some harsh treatment from Hearts. The midfield definitely suffered when Davidson went off. Mackay looks good at RB & doesn't sell himself by sliding into missed tackles like Irvine.
  10. All he has to say is it was a tactical decision.
  11. Cos of the U21 rule Craig & Deuchar weren't even on the bench (& that doesn't even allow for the guys out injured) so squad rotation is definitely going to be in play this season. Said in papers when asked about Craig's surprise exclusion from the team against Celtic Del refused to explain his reasoning behind each individual case. Perhaps Craig didn't take it too well?
  12. GB has the vast majority of the shares so owning shares wouldgive you no influence on how the club is run. Also no share dividend has ever been paid out so there's no financial gains to be made However as everyone's said it's nice just to own a share in your club (on paper at least).
  13. Stewart Duff said these teams have been allocated the North, Ormond & northern part of West stand to avoid making these games all-ticket. He reckoned if games like, for example, the Hearts one are made all-ticket fans can't be bothered to go down to McD to buy tickets.
  14. Is that an attempt at sarcasm? The club needed cash & we put our money where our mouth is. Fortunately I also have investments which do make money.
  15. Got my copy through the post today with an invite to a Q&A session with Del. Don't know how many of us bought shares in the 80s but usually about 20 turn up.
  16. Based on the 2nd half v Burnley & Sat's performance - no unless he improves greatly.
  17. Davidson definitely. Morris was also good & Gartland particularly in the 1st half. Thought Deuchars was a bit disappointing (missed that chance in the 2nd half!).
  18. Report in PA also said we'd spent more on transfer fees than most SPL clubs inc. Rangers. When was the last time that happened?!
  19. In today's PA report on the Burnley game Gordon Bannerman said it'd be good PR & a boost for the start of the season if Del signed an extension to his contract.
  20. First half, before the subs started, we played some great stuff. Got to agree with others that Davidson put in a good shift. Gartland played well & Mackay looked composed & will give Irvine a run for his money at RB. Grainger looked comfortable & Morais & Sammy produced some exciting stuff up front & Morris controlled midfield. If this performance was a taste of things to come then roll on next Sat.
  21. And the fact that apart from the odd few like Mooner & Phizzy Scott, none of us are good enough:laugh:
  22. Forgot to say was told they get breakfast & usually get Wed off. Agree most SPL players not on high wages but they are being paid to do something they enjoy &, many of them not being the brightest means they probably earn more than they would in the outside world. Also part time/junior/amateur players have to train after doing their day jobs. Obviously we disagree on this but most people would love tto be paid to play a sport they enjoy. You only have to look at the number of kids who try (& mostly fail) to become pro sportsmen/women.
  23. Yes Aberdeen were dire & Falkirk were knocked out by the only team in Lichtenstein
