  1. In all fairness it will take him a while to get back up to speed after his injury.
  2. Ok, I will take the word extreme out, I may have been a bit harsh. But having watched most of the games Jackson has played in, when running in a straight line against a defender he is slow. When he has the ball at his feet he is good as he has quick feet. Comparing him to Deuchar, Peaso and Savo for pace is just comparing new degree's of slowness. If we take Sammy out the equation, we have no one that can run onto a ball (goal against rangers) at pace. This is off course my opinion. Jackson is a great player and can hold the ball up as well as Sammy, but I think we need a bit of pace upfront in the SPL.
  3. Jacko might be good but he is extremely slow, we need Sammy for the pace alone. Pace is a huge asset in this league. Sammy is also a tremendous target man.
  4. Think ando, hardie and millar performed ace yesterday. Will go for Millar, kept possesion well.
  5. Main Mckay Gartland Caff Grainger Jody Davidson Millar Swankie Samuel Morais With milne, hardie and Liam as the used subs.
  6. Reeks of desperation. Hopefully one of our strikers will start finding the net.
  7. Liam looks about twelve in that picture.
  8. Don't know when peaso is due back, but I would like to see him go out on loan for around 6 weeks. He needs a run of games and some goals. A loan to a div.1 team with an option of recalling him is a good idea. I think milne, deuchar and sammy with morais if needed will do in the meantime. Anyway we need two youngsters on the bench and I think peaso will struggle to get in the squad. Any idea when Rusty, Jacko and Peaso are back?
  9. Main Irvine Caff Garters Grainger Morais Jody Davidson Craig Deuchar Sammy Bench:Smith,Mckay,Millar,Savo,Swankie,Reynolds,May
  10. I would roll with this: Main Irvine anderson Gartland Craig Millar Hardie Sheerin Swankie Savo Deuchar Bench: Smith,Sammy,Morais,Davidson,Mckay Just because if grainger gets injured we have no left back and likewise I would hate to see morais, sammy, caff or jody injured before the Hearts game. That team should dispose of Arbroath. Could potentially leak a goal with that backline though.
  11. Sorry, but I can't see it happening. The only way it would happen is if Irvine has a blinder this season and hutton, alexander and whittiker (sp?) are injured. And the chances are he will be at a championship team! Although....we are having problems with keepers
  12. ah, the flaming lips. Homer may have scored, but from what the queens fans say it seems they are not impressed. All the best to the guy, he is a handfull but a shocking footballer IMHO. Good to see him score, hopefully he gets 20 goals in the league and a move to Swansea.
  13. Seems like were playing well. Burnley are going to get mauled in the premiership with that squad.
  14. Strips generally always look better in the flesh than on the site. However, these do look pretty nasty! Home top lookS alright, but the sponsor is pretty embarassing to be honest. Looks like a 5 year found paint on the windows menu. It's funny when the flash of last year's strip comes on the site and looks ten times better. The elipse is pretty naff, should have went for a bordered stroke round the sponsors name, like last year. I find it hard to believe the sponsor was pleased with that comparing it to last year. Maroon top looks suspect as well. I'm sure they will look better in real life. If sheerin crosses the ball in and it hits deuchars wimpey bulls eye elipse and goes in on the opening day, the sponsor is the last thing I will be thinking about. Incidently, why is it when you load up the site every year to find the new strip, you feel less attached to the team if the strip is naff?? ha ha! It has taken me all of 10 mins to get over it. MON THE SAINTS!!!!!
  15. I hate to say it, but I can also see Jackson struggling to be fit all season, IMHO. I also think that peaso will be nowhere near good enough for the SPL, he looked off the pace last season. Whether it is fitness or not, I'm pretty sure he won't cut it. I think we have a good team, but a) we need a creative mid and Im not sure who the strikforce is going to be next season. I would be happy to punt peaso and get funds for a strong, fast striker.
  16. I still think we need a winger, especially on the right. We have far too many in the middle, meaning we put a central midfielder out right. I suppose maybe sammy can play there, or maybe he is going to go direct next year. Would rather a pacy right winger a left back, then maybe a striker to complete the job.
  17. I think Griffiths would have been a very good signing, something he has which Jackson does not have is natural pace. Something that we won't get from a Jackson & Deuchar partnership. Although the partnership worked before, defenders will be better in the spl and we may need the pace of sammy to break them down, me thinks.
  18. Need caff back. Think this could be another goalscoring game, don't think dundee look to strong in midfield, but are likely to score. Main Irvine Rusti Caff Craig Millar Moon Hardie Sheerin Sammy Holmes Subs:Mclean, Savo, Swankie, Gartland, Jody Alot depending on fitness, id go with holmes even although savo is clearly a better player. Feel his presence might ruffle them a bit, hopefully it won't mean 90 mins of long ball!
  19. For me that justifies why Deek has been keeping Ando out the team, not just based on todays performance. I'm a fan of Ando and think he is a good defender, but time and time again he is prone to horrendous mistakes. Purely because he looses concentration and fails to either judge his pass or simply put his foot through the ball. Defence was terrible today, even ruti was caught for the first goal. Gartland at fault again, as he was at Dunfermline. I think we need caf back in defence. However, I thought the main problems in the first half were the result of a static midfield. Moon needs to start, simple. He always looks for the ball and starts most of the football going forward. This ones going to come under criticism, but I think if we get promoted we desperately (along with a left back), need a striker. For me milne has been poor for some weeks and his first touch has been awful. I think sammy has been holding things together, albeit he might not be a goalscorer. For me peaso, holmes, barrett and even jacko will struggle in the spl. Still, its in our hands. Craig at left back next week, drop swankie and put millar and moon in from the start. We should have never let dobbie go.....
  20. Main Irvine ruti Caff ando Swankie Moon Sheerin Craig Milne Sammy Bench: Mclean, Gartland, hardie, holmes, millar never going to happen tho
  21. Absolute brutal first half today, should have been down by two. The defence managed to turn it around in the second half and looked solid, caff played well indeed. The main problem is the midfield at the moment. Millar made a beauty of a ball for the goal, but was non-existant for the rest of the game. Im a big fan of millar, but he is def not a right mid. Swankie had a mair, although their is potential in him he needs to show fight when things are not going his way. Soft as cotton in the tackle. Jodie was solid today, but he generally breaks up play and it ends up going side to side. Add the fact its going long to holmes, and the midfield is struggling. It all comes back to having no left back. We need craig in midfield and it looks like sammy might be an option on the wing. Holmes was good today. But unless jackson and him begin to link up better, the serious lack off pace means that partnership is a no-go. Saying that, we started to knock it about better in the second half and three points from a poor performance is how you win the league!
  22. It has to be either caff, rusty or holmes for me. Il go for holmer
