  1. Just because other people were poor in the build up to the goal doesn't absolve Mannus of blame.
  2. I'd say the exact opposite. Enckleman made match winning saves and howlers, Mannus is making neither just now. Cuthbert is the better comparison for me.
  3. I agree with this 100 percent but how long can you give players the benefit of the doubt for? It's been an issue all season, you can't just keep playing someone because they've been good for us in the past. Not convinced not having a settled defence can be blamed for some of the goals he's conceded, Hibs last week for instance.
  4. I don't think it's really turning on a club legend to be questioning his form this year. This isn't the stands where we should be getting behind the team, this is a forum for voicing opinions about team selection, player form etc etc. I love Alan Mannus but he's not been good enough this season. He's not making glaring errors but there's so many goals that you have a niggling doubt about. Whether Zander is the answer will only be found out when we ask the question.
  5. I read the Twitter thing as 'wow' Dave is out for the season as opposed to 'wow' that signing is brutal.
  6. While I can understand this viewpoint slightly more, In that situation a win would still be absolutely hilarious to be fair, imagine the joy you'd get from denying another team the title. Look at Dundee still having it large over Hearts 30 years later.
  7. I've heard this viewpoint before, but I care about St Johnstone being successful far more than the state of Scottish football. Aberdeen winning the league would be funny but i'd never celebrate another teams success. I'll take three days in some Eastern European city instead thanks!
  8. Absolutely bewildering for any Saints fan to want us to lose/ not be dissapointed if we do. We're challenging for fourth and a very decent chance of getting in to Europe for Christ sake. **** Aberdeen.
  9. Unless that's changed since last year then that's wrong. http://spfl.co.uk/news/article/european-places-201516/
  10. Especially considering it will probably be Dundee United they replace, one of our biggest crowds of the year normally.
  11. There definitely wasn't a place through being runner up in the cup last year so unless they've changed it either would do. (Preferably Hearts obv)
  12. *Hearts or Celtic win the cup. League wise it's not going to be easy to compete with teams with such comparatively larger budgets, but we've finished above teams that we weren't expected to for years now, there's no doubting it's a massive summer coming up for us, but I'd not write us off as top six challengers quite yet.
  13. Murray Spoony Thomson Swanson Maclean Cummins V attacking. Swanson, Spoony and Macca linking up would be beautiful though.
  14. I think some people are forgetting just how good Swanson was for us. To come back from the slaughtering he took by some of the morons in Dunfries to be such a vital part of our European push was remarkable. If we'd signed him in the summer I'm sure all of us would have been delighted. I'd give him a chance before writing him off tbh.
  15. Absolutely not. There's a happy medium between a poor, poor transfer window and 'we're getting relegated' though.
  16. Remember last time we were in a relegation fight and we finished comfortably top six and won the cup? Reactionary pish.
  17. Tommy Wright wanted two new players yesterday before the news of MOH had been broken. So even with Swanson coming in we're still well short of what he wanted. It's a very dangerous game for Steve Brown to play when TW isn't short of bigger options if he decides enough is enough. Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen, Rangers and Celtic potentially in the league next year, we need younger legs in if we're to compete with those sides, I think the dissappointment is coming from some of the names we were linked with, Scougall and Alston especially fit the bill for the sort of players we should be looking at.
  18. Honestly heart warming seeing Saints mean that much to a wee kid. We've all been there at one stage or another with a player leaving. Christ, I was like that at 23 years old when May left. :'(
  19. I've always said that the players that won the cup would never be anything but legends in my eyes, but that interview is actually disgusting.
  20. It looked like the referee blew instinctively (possibly because there was a foul in the build up and he was contemplating giving that.) It was clear as day from the stands it was a dive, disgraceful that however many officials can come up with the idea that it was a penalty.
  21. You get in, you see where your seat is, you look behind you, you see what the knock on effect of standing up is and if it causes a problem for anyone you sit down. It causes knock on arguments if people don't show consideration. In saying that, being told to sit down inpatiently when the people in front of you are standing is extremely frustrating. I think a bit of understanding needs to be shown both ways.
  22. Segregation is vital in football tbf, would hate to turn the games in to a rugby like experience all happy and friendly.
  23. At least you will have the bragging rights when you beat them to the league.
  24. Apologies, a combination of anger at the ticket situation and man flu has obviously made me miss the tone of your post.
