  1. Is the car park covered by the football department?
  2. Average player salaries in the Championship are reported to be £29,000 a week, compared to league one where it is £4,750 a week. What is our pay structure? £2k a week? I'd suggest that increasing his salary from £100,000 a year to £1.5m would be pretty life changing. A 4 year contract - I'd definitely say £6m was life changing!
  3. I've calmed down a wee bit now. I'm genuinely chuffed for Kerr and McCann to have got moves they wanted - as mentioned above they'll get game time at their clubs, and have every chance to progress to bigger things. I wish them every success and thoroughly enjoyed watching them at Saints. What still angers me is the McCann deal. We, as fans, are often a bit off the mark with valuations, but in this case the chairman himself had (admittedly somewhat vaguely) put a value on his head months ago, and then proclaimed that an offer of around half that was too good to turn down, at the last minute of the window with no chance to source a replacement. I think Callum has done pretty well to get a few loans in under the circumstances.
  4. Anyone else think Saints were waiting for the work permit to be finalised before announcing the Finn, but have made the official statement in panic to try and counter the negative bombardment about McCann and Kerr. Expect the photo was taken a while ago! Worry is that it could still go tits up.
  5. I'd also be very surprised if Callum is here beyond Christmas too.
  6. Callum is, unfortunately for us, well above that level of pettiness. I suspect he'll be off to the next championship side that needs a new manager. It won't be long until he's gone after this.
  7. That's harsh on Callum, I doubt he's had much say in any of this. Shite chairmanship I'd say.
  8. Relegation fodder now I fear. Absolutely horrendous transfer deadline day completely bursts the feel good bubble that the Euro games created. Totally gutted. I guess the feeling that the chairman will be sipping champagne to celebrate a wonderful evening makes it all seem so much worse - and inevitable. St Johnstone once again officially a diddy club.
  9. I was trying to see if anyone else would go looking and fall for it I hate transfer day, it always promises drama and delivers nothing. Even if saints sign anyone, it'll probably be three weeks before the media bother to say anything about it.
  10. I think with a sell on percentage that's probably a fair deal. What's 10k a week, a 500% pay rise? Great chance to be part of a team making their way back to the Championship, and obviously a greater chance of an international callup once away from Saints. I think Kerr is one of the best CBs in Scotland, but I think the last two weeks have shown us how important Gordon is too - perhaps even more so to the organisation of our defence. If we ONLY lose Kerr and get someone in to replace him, even another loan initially, I think we'll have done OK out of this transfer window. As others have said above, if Wigan were to get promoted back to the Championship, he could easily be a £10m player and a 10% sell on clause could be big money for Saints. The £500k up front is a world apart from the £500k we'd get from the likes of Hibs - at £8.97 a month over 4645 years
  11. I still think there's a potential goalscorer in Hendry. He needs a bit of confidence. Unfortunately, the quality of service he's getting is not going to give him that.
  12. Brown's best game for us, Zander excellent, but Muzz different class.
  13. I hope not. A lot to look forward to if we don't
  14. After sleeping on it, I'm less angry and just proud of what we've seen. We went toe to toe with two big big European teams, and with a bit of luck or ref decision here or there the outcomes could have been different. Considering some of the St Johnstobe matches I've been to in my lifetime, the last few months has been the stuff of utter fantasy. I hope the players put an arm around spoony and it doesn't affect him too badly. An adrenaline fueled mistake, move on.
  15. Do the red cards bring a domestic suspension at all?
  16. Total disaster of an evening. McCann, Kerr, McCart, Rooney could all be away off the back of that. I reckon the last few weeks and then tonight will affect Wotherspoon badly. Gutted. So near and yet so utter cluster****.
  17. Sorry, someone posted two pages back that Saints were ordered to close the section of the ground by UEFA. I guess it was false info. Glad it was incorrect, theatmosphere at that corner is brilliant.
  18. so what happened to UEFA demanding it was closed? I'm baffled.
  19. I think the creativity that spoony and Booth together bring make it a no brainer Harsh on Middleton but he is a better impact sub than spoony, he seems to pick up the pace if the game well. I think ohalloran has earned his starting spot. I'd like to see this starting lineup Zander Kerr Gordon McCart Rooney Muzz McCann Booth OHalloran Wotherspoon Kane
  20. Great for Zander, great for the club too to finally be noticed.
  21. Given the fact its blocked off from sale, us it perhaps so FCU CAN go there on Thursday without other folk already booked there? Obviously if that is the case then the club wouldn't announce anything early to avoid upsetting others? Just a thought..
