  1. Agree. If someone's skint then they're skint & they're not going to spend cash on going to watch a football match especially when they can see it on tv. Bills, family costs, etc come first - end of!
  2. Given that Dundee apparently got an extra £250k from the Kevin McDonald transfer as a result of Burnley winning promotion how much of his own money has Melville actually spent?
  3. Davidson & Moon dominated in midfield. Irvine, Grainger & Deuchars also worth a mention.
  4. Yeah, Big Bucks Melville couldn't compete with a club that's £30m in debt & couldn't afford to bring in anyone in the Jan window despite Laszlo pleading for a striker. Mind you this is the guy who still hasn't come up with the £500k to buy back Dens even though he said the deal would be tied at the end of last July at the latest.
  5. I believe in segregation & that the disabled Celtic fans should be prevented from putting up any banners. I also noticed that there were a number of Celtic fans in the East Stand but frankly i refuse to be goaded by ignorant t*ssers & it usually works cos they feel upset that you're not rising to the bait. however if someone is causing trouble they should quite rightly be ejected. Stewards should make it clear to any disabled away fan or their helper that although they can support their team this does not include shouting/swearing at neighbouring Saints fans.
  6. Agree. when Deuchar was left up alone the ball was being lumped up to him & coming straight back towards our goal. Peaso at least offered an outlet & gave their defence some problems with his pace. Savo would've done the same. Smith & Mackay were standouts for me & Morris did well also.
  7. Says in Courier Dundee have been given permission to speak to Barr of Falkirk. Aberdeen, Hearts & English Championship sides are also interested. Can't believe he'd move to Scumdee as opposed to any of the other options available. Saints seem to be looking for cover for Dinky & another striker.
  8. According to the latest accounts there are 680 000 ordinary shares at £0.25 each which = £157.5k so even GB doesn't have £1m in shares. Therefore raising £1m in a share rights issue is pure fantasy. As for putting a premium on it to make say a 5% sell-off worthwhile, no dividends have ever been paid out so, like those who bought the original shares, anyone buying shares would simply be making a donation to the club.
  9. There are few players at Saints who wouldn't accept the opportunity to join a bigger club for more dosh. And why should anybody be surprised about that in today's game? They're professional footballers & they're going to try to maximise their income before they retire. Most people in any job would do the same. If a bigger company offers you a better job & more money you're going to take it unless you have good reasons not to.
  10. If Moore is playing in Oz is he still SPL standard? The fact he's still a possibility for the Ozzie World Cup squad suggests he is however, having said that, Johannson recently played & scored against Germany in a friendly & he certainly doesn't look a better option than the strikers we have already.
  11. Great to see Peaso & Savo back in action. Both looked sharp.
  12. Yes but now that Sammy & Rusty are out & we need bodies in that could change. If Swankie does get a run in the team over the next 3 or 4 games i think it'll be his last chance to make an impression.
  13. don't think he'll keep Johanson - lost most of his pace from his younger days. Swankie might get loaned out to make space for another body.
  14. doubt it. Billy Reid, Gus McPherson or Laszlo have as much chance.
  15. Who voted for Peaso as MoM? He was hardly on long enough to get warmed up
  16. Morais for me simply cos he was 1 of the few who showed any attacking flair. Rusty was terribile & the midfield looked short of ideas apart from a few shots in the 1st half. Thought Moon might have come on earlier. Too many long balls lumped up to Sammy & Deuchar which suited the Killie defence. We've taken 1 pt out of 2 home games against 2 very average teams.
  17. not blaming the police in this instance but i have been at games with a policeman standing right next to me & things have been shouted & they've just turned a deaf ear. only when someone complained did they react.
  18. So i take it these 4 morons booed when sammy scored for us? i've found some police officers are remarkably deaf when it comes to racist/sectarian chants so why shouldn't it be pointed out to them? self-policing is risky given some of the nutters walking around nowadays.
  19. A report in another paper said Wigan were interested in an Espanyol player but if they didn't get him then Sammy would be a target. His performance against Rangers obviously attracted attention.
  20. Should've been 3 up in 1st 20 mins, then Falkirk came back into it. Millar added some zip to the midfield & scored a great goal. We've played better & lost (numerous times) so I'm delighted with the win.
  21. No wonder Murray can't help Rangers, just read his companies have liabilities of £760m. It was his overspending that got Rangers into the mess they're in now anyway. Critics constantly had a go at GB for not spending but we've 1 of the best run clubs in Britain.
  22. Agree with what's already been said. He's an excellent manager with a bright future.
  23. Jim Murphy, the minister for Scotland, has told Lloyds they should be sympathetic to Rangers predicament. I don't remember any ministers speaking out when Livi, Gretna & the rest went bust. Why should Rangers get special treatment? They've been living beyond theirr means & that's why they're in trouble.
  24. I think it's about the same. We've outplayed most teams but not won games that we should have. Of course if that continues then he'd be under pressure.
  25. Now the OF might have to live within their means like the rest of us thereby making the SPL more competitive. Interesting article today saying that during periods when Rangers are less successful their fans from outwith Glasgow disappear like snow off a dyke (glory hunters!). Even stated that at 1 game in the season before the Souness era started the crowd was just over 2000.
