  1. What time and where? My laddie is playing Celtic on Sunday too (u-13's) at Barrowfield. 11am kick off There are rumours kicking about that they might be actually getting to play the game on the pitch at Parkhead
  2. The same manager told me they would both always be injured too Says Watson is a great guy and feels really sorry for him
  3. That was from a manager who had BG in his squad. Doesnt mean he wasn't different at Saints of course
  4. We've had worse than BG, but it's not an exciting prospect him coming back Ive heard he's a nightmare at training and his general attitude isn't great
  5. Keatings signs a pre-contract with Dundee Utd Some mentioned him as a possible option for us
  6. It would be, no pressure v Hearts However, how many fans would Hearts bring in that scenario? Still in with a chance, they might bring more. Take their money and then beat them may be the perfect scenario
  7. The SFA Acadamies are not linked to pro clubs. Although trials are open to all, just about every boy that gets in is pro-youth, and the SFA have scouts watching players well before the application process and will actively approach families and encourage them to apply Saints are not 'elite' yet Ayr are. I find that strange. It's true that Saints are doing well in the older age groups. I remember though that at u-11 and u-12 they would lose most weeks, often heavily This is probably affected by the catchment area, with boys and families willing to travel a bit further as they get older. I know a few boys from the Edinburgh area who have been at Saints, perhaps having been missed or overlooked by Hibs and Hearts Whether both or either of the pro-youth or SFA Acadamies will be successful in bringing through a greater number of players better equipped for the modern game is still to be seen. I know the SFA think that it could be 2020 at least before the benefits begin to be seen
  8. If you want to post, post. If you don't want your valid points to be lost in amongst loads sh1t, don't pretend to know things you don't I have no objection to Random posting whatever he likes. Whether they are facts, non-facts or speculation, they are better than a lot of stuff as they at least generate discussion However, if you post speculation, or things that you claim to know or claim to be facts, you should also be prepared to be called out or challenged on it. As long as those responses are not over the top, then I don't get his problem Instead of the ultimatum of 'I'm not posting anymore' why not just think a bit more before hitting submit (something we all could do) and take the kickback with a pinch of salt Ultimately, if Random chooses not to post anymore, that's his decision, but feels like the proverbial cutting off his nose to spite his face
  9. I always used to think Spittal looked decent when they were in the SPL, but heard he's not been that great this season Not sure he's a signing that would take us forward in any way, but at the same time wouldn't be bothered if we did sign him
  10. Smith got a couple of starts due to Foster being suspended and did really well. Was a bit unlucky to drop back to the bench when Foster was available, but Foster has been one of our most consistent performers since he signed
  11. The big Z has to be back in imo He will be first choice keeper next season, and Mannus could be leaving Makes no sense to me him not playing, unless injured
  12. I'm going! My laddie is playing Aberdeen away on Sunday, so going up for the weekend
  13. The FCU have nobody to blame except themselves I really missed the atmosphere they create on Saturday, but they created the situation where the club HAD to take appropriate steps Lets not pretend these were just a group of keen young lads wanting to enjoy supporting their team.
  14. I'm not so sure Jamie. Mannus looked on his heels to me and not ready to do anything Folk sitting at opposite end of the East would see better than us I guess
  15. I actually thought Coulson played ok. Won a lot of headers and generally got stuck in I also though Scobbie was ok. Joe had a few howlers too, but folk more eager to get on Tam's case My feeling at the game was that Mannus has to be at fault for the second goal. The ball was in an area that he has to command, even if that meant wiping out Scobbie in the process. Want to see it on the telly box though Paton was good again, once the team got going.
  16. Felt sorry for Smith losing his place, but Foster, once again, was one of if not our top performer Also felt sorry for Alston, but impressed that Tommy actually took action. Alston wasn't at the races and the introduction of Danny changed things positively for us I heard no booing whatsoever in the East Stand
  17. Aye, they used to say he had more balls go between his legs than Fair Maid.....an insult indeed!
  18. Because, would you say that both Celtic and Hibs have a 25% chance of winning it? Simple maths says yes, but build in probability based on ability, strength etc etc, then the answer is 'no' By your reasoning, the bookmakers would have the same odds for all four teams winning
