I actually thought there were plans to bulldoze it, create a park and adjoin to a plaza around the city hall with cafes and brasseries! Seriously. No idea where i got that from....
Many retailers are on the way out of business, but many are larger national chains - not the smaller specialist stores that are sad to see go. And it goes further than "but you can get it cheaper on the internet". There is a societal breakdown when we can't "go to market".
Stores missing: Tiger, Uni-clo, Reiss, Clas Ohlson, Nandos, Subway to name but a few...
If the centre is not in terminal decline why is living in town seen as a more "tinky" place to live? (prices lower than elsewhere)
