  1. George Williams score a pretty decent hat-trick for Forest Green on boxing day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1B3v0sBGdg
  2. Was Jools Holland playing that year too?
  3. I was there. Valderamma definitely did not play. I think the Colombian goalie Higuita played for them at the same time, but he didn't play either. I can't remember the score, but pretty sure we lost. I think there was some expectation the big names would play, and there was a half decent crowd in.
  4. Yeah, I think you are right. Pretty sure there was some restoration work done to the archway in the last year or so
  5. Lobey Dosser was a comic book Character created by Glasgow cartoonist Bud Neil
  6. What about Loch Turret near Crieff?
  7. Seem to remember the song being adopted by Oldco Rangers back around the time the song was out. Did the Chairman choose the track?
  8. The location of the pool hall/bowling alley is in the heart of a residential area and faced strong objection from local residents. There is a bit more to it than the council being d!cks.
  9. Dr Noodles on South street is really good. Best Chinese in perth IMHO. Not great for sit in, as they just have benches and I don't think it is licenced - probably not what you are looking for, just think it deserves a mention.
  10. Brennans was a bit of a dump, and always dead in recent years, so not surprised it eventually closed. The Venue is owned by the folks who have The Green Room, which has been doing pretty well. I think they had initially intended to open a place at the entrance to the shopping centre where Café Noir used to be. Anyway the new bar has a micro brewery and a gin bar. I've only seen pictures of the new place, but it certainly looks an improvement on Brennans.
  11. With a salary of approx £17k, you will have a hard job encouraging younger people to put themselves up for council election. I see the team behind lighting the Kelpies have been hired for this lighting gig. The Kelpies obviously look pretty stunning, i'm just not sure there is much of Perth left that is worth shining a light on.
  12. That was County Sports. Campus was in St John Street. Think the unit they they were in was the one next to the charity shop on the corner of the High St. Not sure what is there now.
  13. P&K are refurbishing 2 High St in order to save money - they can then accommodate more staff in the building, so they can get rid of other accommodation that they currently rent (Atrium, Blackfriars). True story.
  14. I think when you are sitting in 4th/5th in the table and still worried about the potential for relegation, this league is a little more 'exciting' than i want it to be at times. I'm very much in favour of a bigger top tier. I think 16 teams would be ideal, playing each other twice. The change in format of the league cup means there isn't going to be a massive difference in the number of home games. I also like the idea that it makes to top division more tangible for clubs which have either never been there or haven't been for a long time. I like the idea of summer football, i just don't see how you could fit it in with the international calendar.
  15. I doubt anyone will remember it, as he wasn't playing that day
  16. Would be good if they did. Brennans has been a dive for years. Went in the Green Room a couple of times over Christmas - thought it was really nice inside, and had a good selection of booze. They seem to be doing pretty well for themselves anyway
  17. That may have been the original plan, but no way was there 1700 saints fans in the main stand that day. Also, I'm pretty sure the bottom tier below the saints fans was empty.
  18. I'm not surprised. My wife was there yesterday - arrived with friends at 12:30, food didn't arrive on table until 2pm. 2 of the dishes were sent back because they were inedible. They complained and got 50% off the bill. It's a very common complaint with Harry's - the venue has great potential, but the service is almost always absolutely dreadful and very, very slow.
  19. All much more densely populated areas, and closer to Edinburgh/Glasgow, so not that similar really.
  20. Do you know what is going in the old Curry's building next to Costa? Seems a really bizarre location for a Costa
  21. Also noticed there is an upmarket kids clothes shop (next to theatre entrance) opened fairly recently on the high street. The High st looking pretty good at the moment with only a few empty units. Was in Inverness for the first time recently and i thought the city centre was pretty dingy in comparison to Perth.
  22. We can't be fined, otherwise they would have to fine Celtic and Rangers every week. Agree we defended brilliantly, apart from the goal and a bomb-scare moment from Scobbie shortly after.
