  1. Thought long and hard about this one and tried to be positive but just can't think of anyone who deserves to be MOM. Wright best of a bad bunch for me but have to go for a no vote.
  2. Me too. Popped through the door 5 mins ago!
  3. Mackay for me. Ando did well when he came on. No other stand outs I'm afraid.
  4. Was on strike today. I am a teacher due to retire in 8 years so will probably not lose out under current agreements. But I could not look at myself in the mirror thinking I did not take part in the protest against these ridiculous and draconian measures. Well done all of you who gave up a day's pay to tell this government that we will not sacrifice ourselves and the young folk who follow because of mistakes made that were none of our making.
  5. Got to agree. Enks made a fantastic save and looked solid. Nothing he could do about the goal.
  6. The difference between the teams today was movement off the ball. St Mirren players always seemed to have an option while we were forced to pass back because there was seldom a Saints player moving into an open space. This makes the central midfielders - Morris and Moon - look negative. Personally I thought Morris had a very good game given his lack of options.
  7. Sandaza - best player on the park by a long way. Morris was good today, as was Wright. Can't agree with Radford about Robertson. I thought he was our wekest player today.
  8. Don't like the tone of this either. I am a season ticket holder of many years and agree with Bev that those who buy seasons are supporting the club. I lost money last year buying my season and will almost certainly lose more again this year due to changes of fixtures. But I am happy to pay to support the club, sit next to my mates and have preffered sales on the big cup games. In no way do I consider myself to be a better/more loyal fan than those who for many good reasons don't have a season and I can understand folk being annoyed about anyone who questions their loyalty to the club. But, in my opinion, Singapore Saint is well wide of the mark describing season ticket holders as "the biggest rip off merchants of the lot" and suggesting we are in some way cheating Perth Saints out of money. I have renewed my car parking space. Taken together with the price of the ticket I consider it to be superb value. The only time I have felt ripped off at McD has been last season at the kiosks and I was glad to see the club are doing something about it. I count myself lucky to be a season ticket holder for the best run club in the SPL and can't wait for the new season. Keep the faith.
  9. Agree with Davidson. Really determined performance.
  10. I yhink the 15 from 19 is a really interesting idea. One I'd consider as I normally miss (holidays/work etc) 3 or 4 home games a season. But one of the reasons I buy my ticket is to sit next to my pals every saturday. How would that work with a reduced commitment?
  11. Not counting my chickens - wouldn't take long to be fair, one in freezer (free range) ; well it was before it was killed, clearly, not very free at the moment - but I love an away game at Brechin: the chip shop next to the ground is fantastic, and the hedge is legend! Parenthesis rules (by the way).
  12. If this was the end of the season - with WBA relegated - I think they would offer Del the job. He is still a young manager and I don't think they will take a chance on him just now - experience needed to avoid the drop methinks. Having said that the English papers are going mad about how good managers from the Glasgow area are - and Coyle has been such a success. I'm hoping this job has come a year too soon for Del. I'd love to see him guide us into the top 6 before he goes.
  13. Stevie May! Ando and Doobs did well as did Maybury when he came on - but May it must be!
  14. You are spot on about Keigan Parker - Stevie May comparison. Parker could be breathtakingly brilliant at times - I remember a fantastic goal at Love Street... but he lacked consistancy. I would like to see May emulate the flair that Parker had but produce it regularly.
  15. Doobs for me - Ando played well but has to stop giving away needless free kicks in dangerous positions. May had a really good debut (in the starting line up) and he looks like fantastic prospect. Craig had a bit of a thankless task - had to play deep to help Grainger against Humphrey. He got a lot of needless stick from the fans. We still need our forwards to start scoring - but this was a much improved performance.
  16. Taylor for me - he will come good and be the fast winger we always wanted. Other candidates for me were the keeper and Jody. Must be hard for the likes of Jody to play on that pitch!
  17. The 69 final sticks in my mind. It was the first game my dad took me to. I was 9. I remember crying at the end but my dad being proud of the side. The other tears and pride had to be at Hamilton 3 seasons ago when we were up for about 15 minutes and then doom and gloom when Gr*dy scored the winner for Gretna. I remember being in despair, but by the time I'd got home my feelings had changed to pride. Proud of the way the team finished the season and proud of the fact I support the club and also totally confident we would go up the following season - we did! And we will not go down this season.
  18. The barking stuff was wrong. The IRA stuff was wrong. Saints have shown themselves to be bigger than Celtic by issuing a statement saying racism is not welcome at McD. We move on. Let's not pass this off as witty banter. I think a few folk have learned some lessons. Please don't give them an excuse to carry on. Let's draw a line under this now. We do not have a racist support. We never have had one. We should challenge any such behaviour in future. Racial stereotypes are not funny, witty and will always be seen as prejudiced. End of.
  19. Was a tough one to take. Let's rejoice that we are not Aberdeen fans! I thought that the only players that deserved pass marks were - Smith, Jackson and Parkin - and my vote goes to Parkin. Fantastic work rate, won a lot in the air - had very little support. I know folk will disagree, but I think he is one of the players that merits a place in the starting line up every week.
  20. I have to say I agree with pretty much everything that Phil says. It seems to me apologists for this kind of behaviour fall into one of the following camps: 1. It is not racist - if we gave abuse to a frenchman for eating horse etc. But the fact is we don't! Why not? 2. It's not racist - It's banter - much the same as the abuse we give to Dundee fans etc. But if the abuse is based on a national stereotype then surely it is racist. And yes, if as a scot you suffer the same then it is racist! This "banter" argument was used when bananas were thrown at Mark Walters. 3. It's not racist. You should hear what the celtic fans were singing. But surely if we have a go at them - and we do, don't we? Then we can't have it both ways. 4. It's not racist - it was just daft wee laddies that were doing it. But the age of those indulging in the behaviour does not change the nature of the behaviour, and surely we should challenge it. I'm sorry, but Saints fans barking when a Korean player touches the ball is - in my opinion - racist. We should not hide behind any of the above excuses, nor should we go for the: political correctness = a denial of freedom of speech stuff. Just have a think about the neandrethal behaviour and attitudes that have been defended by that in the past. I like banter with opposition fans, I'm no goody two shoes. But I am saddened that we should be prepared to accept that kind of racist shit from our own fans.
  21. Nope After one look at me, I'd be put out on loan to Montrose until my contract was up.
