  1. Clark is a bitter man as his managerial career never really recovered after his sacking by Saints. Even when asked for a comment when GB retired he said GB made big mistakes but would never admit to them (translation: he sacked me & he should nae have! boo-hoo)
  2. Disagree. Millar, Craig, Morris & Croft largely dominated the midfield in the 1st half. Thought Millar put in a good shift but was substituted in the 2nd when he began to tire as it was his 1st start after returning from injury. Robertson made little impact as usual & personally I think Moon should've been on the bench in his place. Apart from a brief appearance as a sub Moon hasn't been seen since signing his contract extension.
  3. I think Craig Whyte is talking BS. He doesn't have £300k to spare.
  4. Yes I think they're referring to the Sainsbury's up at the old mart site. It's supposed to be about 55,000 sq ft.
  5. Robertson has yet to convince me. I'd put Midge ahead of him.
  6. When we went 4-4-2 in the 2nd half we totally dominated & Sherridan was brilliant. Surprised to see Robertson in the starting line up. Lomas described him as a 'fantastic player' after the game probably to give the guy a boost after hooking him at half-time. Where is Moon & was Haber injured? Saints deserved at least a replay if not more.
  7. Not 1 of Del's better signings. I assume Gibson is away/going too now the 2 new guys are here.
  8. I read that Lomas was interested in ex-Falkirk winger Jack Compton.
  9. I agree. He's complaining about all the rumours flying around when he was the one who started them all. Also said that Rangers didn't offer Sandaza a PCA but he had spoken to McCoist a couple of times & McCoist had asked if Sandaza would be 'interested' if he was offered one. Well, if that's the case why didn't he say so when every paper said Rangers had offered a £5k pw PCA?! I think the offer was made & Sandaza turned it down. I think Sandaza's rapped his knuckles & they're meeting in Madrid with Fran's Dad to decide the way forward. As Lomas said, the agent is a numptie.
  10. The ref was a disgrace - the free kick which led to the 1st goal was taken a good 5 yards from where it should have been & he failed to produce a red card for the 2nd bookable offence committed by that big lumbering ox against Sandaza. Ironically he booked 2 defenders for similar fouls later. I thought Haber worked hard and used his pace to good effect. Mackay snuffed out Wallace's runs down the wing. Sandaza was dangerous on the ball. I thought Moon might have come on to replace Robertson who I've yet to be convinced by. All in all a good team performance. Without Jelavic the Gers would be in trouble.
  11. Good as he is I'd be surprised if anyone offered £350k when they could sign him on a pre-contract & get him for free in the summer. Craig Whyte certainly won't throw money about. As for English clubs depends how desperate they are. Fran would probably prefer to go for free & get a chunk of the £350k as a signing on fee.
  12. Today's Express described him as the '£350k rated striker'. Who rated him as worth £350k? Saints? Do the board think they could get that for him with 6 mths left on him on his contract? I'd be pleased but surprised if we could get anything like that.
  13. Read yesterday that Lomas was keen on bringing back Ryan Stevenson! Also said Bristol City wanted him. Come on Del get that chequebook out..... quickly!
  14. I heard he wants to play. He certainly made that clear in Tues paper when he said his family were going to watch the match on Sky in a Madrid bar. Moon's also made it clear today that he wants to sign a new deal in the next 2 weeks & Lomas has spoken to SB about contract extensions & possible transfer targets in Jan so things seem to be moving in the right direction.
  15. It's Xmas & I think he was having a laugh. what's the big deal?
  16. It also said Saints were working on offering him a new deal (Courier). Maybe his agent is encouraging the paper talk. It also said Bristol would be coming for Muzz in Jan.
  17. In his interview in the PA when he stepped down GB half-joked that he'd allowed Del to sign too many players this season & said the new board would have to sort it out. Given the home crowds we're getting I think they'll be more leavers than arrivals in Jan unless Muzz is sold of course.
  18. Amazing how many people miss late goals by leaving early. My problem with early leavers is they start walking out then something happens on the pitch & so they stop to watch & totally block your view. If you want to leave early then leave, if you want to watch the match then stay in your seat
  19. Exactly. Also all that crap about encouraging Sheridan to get into 'planking'. Can't imagine Del or Coyle carrying on like some over grown teenager. Jody's a good player but like ryangordon86 I don't see him as managerial material yet.
  20. Players who are described as model pros generally don't have 'problems' off the park.
  21. Coyle & Del were model pros as players, Jody certainly hasn't been in the past.
  22. PKC said it could happen by 2013 IF the money is in place. GB said it probably won't happen until the housing market improves. Given that most of the £12-13m costs will probably have to come from the private sector & that most housing projects (inc. GS Brown's) have either slowed or completely stopped & given the economic outlook it could be years before the North Stand comes down. Personally I found it interesting that while stressing the benefits to SJFC of knocking the stand down he failed to mention the benefits to GSB Construction of putting a road through land that was gifted to Saints in order to open up land for housing developments.
  23. Well if it was Ann Gloag about £300m or JK Rowling £530m Seriously though you can't really make generalisations. Romanov of Hearts, for example, is hardly a great advert for men running football clubs. Equally, I worked with female managers, 1 of whom is now a councillor, who couldn't organise a p*ss up in a brewery. However there are many people of either sex who would be excellent football directors. Each person has to be judged on their own merits.
  24. Sandaza, although Adams, Wright & Jody were also excellent. Sorry but I've yet to be convinced by Robertson. Perhaps the 'easy, easy' chants from some of the Saints fans after we went 3-1 up were a bit premature! However, the way we were playing I didn't see united coming back.
