  1. Wetting the bairns heid at Strangeraer, sounds good
  2. There are worse players at McD than Ando, quite a few. IMHO I think he is a decent player at centre half and at Airdrie where he got a load of stick he was probably our best defender, also thought he played not too bad against Gretna (but still got stick) considering James and Rusty bits were both poor.
  3. Well thats my present to the wee man up the spout, we'll need to think of something else. I'm glad you put the weight on as that was the first question Beve asked me last night and of course being a man I never thought to ask you, then again you never thought to tell me either, men
  4. They do represent Scottish Football, like it or not. Not just because I say so. Are you still astounded?
  5. Ronaldo, it does not matter when sucess came or how many times it still keeps Scottish football on the map. Argue all you want, it is fact. We are only minions with opinions but ask the people who matter, the people who run the game in this country, the SFA, the SPL and the Chairmen/boards who run clubs in Scotland. 99% will tell you how much sucess in Europe by the OF or any Scottish club means to the game here. Ask GB if he was chuffed to host a match in the European youth championship, ask GB what it means to welcome International teams to McD. You can also ask any Scottish football fan if they loved attending a European final in Scotland. Are those people (arguably, the most important) wrong?, just because certain narrow minded football fans cannot see past their hatred of the OF. I hate the OF too but I'm realistic enough to relialise their importance to Scottish Football, and that overcomes any hatred. Scottish Football is why we are on this forum, why we are in a position to have a debate and the OF are a massive massive part of Scottish Football and the sucsess, respect and fame that we have the world over.
  6. FORGOT ABOUT THIS THREAD ALL OF THE ABOVE. RANGERS & CELTIC ARE IN THE TOP 20 ALL TIME RANKINGS OF THE EUROPEAN CHAMPION CLUBS CUP, THIS IS OUT OF 375 TEAMS. THAT CREATES RESPECT IN UEFA AND KEEPS SCOTTISH FOOTBALL UP THERE.
  7. GB went down with Luggy to look at a player on Fergie's advice, after the 1st half they both decided the player was gash, Fergie had them in his office at half time and asked them what they thought about the player, no good but we like the wee red haired player, we'll take him. No chance, he'll be the next Dalglish, was Fergie's reply. TRUE STORY.

    ebay stinks

The guy will make a few bob, absolute quality idea, wish I'd thought of it.
  9. now that's a story. the day Luggy and GB tried to sign Paul Scholes. A cracker of a true story.
  10. It is a myth that Soutar wanted to buy the club. GB has been trying to get him to invest in the club for years, they were wined and dined at McD for a long time before they put any input in. He now has a link with the club in the form of sponsorship, this worked it's way from the youth team to the cheap last minute Megabus deal, but all the same Saints are chuffed he has eventually put some kind of money into the club.

you know it makes sense, you dipstick. this time next year I'll be a millionaire
  12. Try getting the council to agree. GB tried for years to get a hotel built at McD but the council said no and then they grany the Holiday inn and Travel Lodge. Obviously they gave bigger backhanders to the council. The council suck when it comes to St Johnstone. Great idea though.

  16. You have to laugh when the GB issue comes up, not that it comes up but some of the crap as to why we are in a bad way at the moment. Apart from the fact that he saved our club, got us a new stadium, one of the best in the country, without going into debt to get it, up there as one of the best bit of business in Scottish football history. We still benefit from the Muirton Park sale to this day as we recently sold the old training pitch at Florence Place and we still have other land in the town to sell. Under GB we have been more successful than at any other period in our history. our average league position in the period has been higher, almost as many semi finals in that period than the rest of our 99 years previous. We have spent crazy amounts of money on players over the years, even taking inflation into account we have spent 5 times (guesstimate)as much than we ever did. Following ST J will always have ups and downs, same as following St Mirren, Partick, Morton and lots of others similar in size to us. We are still better off than these clubs, even St Mirren despite them about to win the league. All these clubs and lots of others of similar size/population/potential, Clyde, Airdrie, Dumfermline, Third Lanark, Well, Killie have been more succsessful than us in their history, had bigger crowds/support. We have suffered from lack of success/under achievement for 121 years, but under GB we have came as close than we ever have and still have the potential to take that final step. Sure we can go back to a 3 year spell 69-71 where we had success which was followed less than 5 years later by freefall, that will not happen again, we will never get that low again. As long as GB is at the helm we will bounce back, it is taking longer than we want but we will get there soon. It is not for lack of trying as the change in managers and investment over the last 5/6 years (and there has been alot of investment, decent wages paid etc) can prove. We have not been used to as many changes in personel, players and managers, that we have had since Sturrock left. Stability is the key, if we stick with OC & especially GB I'm pretty sure we'll bounce back soon. SORRY ABOUT GOING OFF, I NOW FEEL LIKE RONALDO
  17. I wouldn't mind a wee friendly doon south, a guid day/weekend away. Hull, Carlisle????? somewhere we have not been before, although we have been to Carlisle a few times.
  18. Our support is no different from anyone else. Supporters are entitled to voice their opinion, although I do not agree with booing during the match, everyone is entitled to cheer or boo after the match has finished. I tend to leave in disgust as soon as the whistle goes after a bad performance rather than listen to the abuse, if I stayed then I might get involved whether joining in or falling out with someone because of it. Feelings run high after such a performance and maybe I find it better to get to the pub and drown my sorrows ASAP.
  19. The referee and the linesman are both making shocking decisions, probably some of the most blatant mistakes we'll see all season, an absolute joke. Clyde's first goal should have been disallowed for offside before Williams nodded it in, but the 2 goals Clyde had chalked off were good goals and the Chink should have walked, no doubts, shocking from Clarke.

  22. I think Delboy could still do a great job for us in midfield. He has skill, dig, a great shot and could play a killer pass. Short term answer to a big problem, but it would work and maybe keep our season alive a wee bit longer.
