  1. Butterfield should be playing, not MacPherson.
  2. Butterfield is that midfielder, and since he set up Hendry's wonder goal vs Motherwell, we've seen nothing of him. Yet again, Crawford is starting, who, other than a purple patch of three games months ago, has offered nothing. I'm not a betting man, but lump on Aberdeen.
  3. CD has to go at the end of this season regardless. I can't keep watching whatever 'this' brand of football is. And the so-called 'creative' types he does pick, are garbage. Crawford especially. We must also be the only team to continually select a striker who can't score, week in week out. Dismal stuff.
  4. The game was another tough watch. But the way Butterfield used his feet then played a lovely volleyed lob over the top, before Hendry produced what was a stunning finish, that's proof that we can play when we want to. I just wish it was more often, instead of the pish we see for the majority. Huge result. Crack open the cans.
  5. Another woeful attempt at 'football' but a point away isn't to be sniffed at.
  6. Dreadful. Kick and hope. I didn't expect us to beat them, but I'd love to see us try and play football. When we very rarely try and link passes together we look half-bright. But then it gets whalloped up field. 90 minutes and all we had to show for it was a Butterfield effort from range. At home.
  7. Who do you play instead? Davidson is injured remember.
  8. What the **** was Callum doing with so many changes? The midfield after 30 minutes were anonymous. Murray looks shot to pieces. I don't understand the selections tonight, I really don't. I'm not going to judge Bair on his short cameo, but I thought we improved with Butterfield on and if he's not starting then we may as well pack in right now. I've been Callum in forever, but ****ing hell man.
  9. I thought Butterfield was superb, again. And Crawford scored the winner. Great win. Onto the next one.
  10. I think Butterfield's our best player already, and MacPherson looked decent against Hearts. It's the same back line that bothers me.
  11. Clark Brown Cleary Mahon McCart Booth Craig Davidson Butterfield Ciftci Kane Get Butters further forward, I like his feet and he can get shots off. Wasted deeper. Craig has to play for me. I'd prefer someone better than Murray D, but we aren't exactly awash in midfield.
  12. I'm intrigued by the Ciftci signing. Could be a waste of space, could prove a masterstroke. Certainly offers us something different, if he's even just okay. On paper, the arrivals of Butterfield, Cleary, Gallagher and now Nadir look like they're strengthening us. We live in hope.

The ridiculous thing is, on WhoScored, Jacob Butterfield is already FOURTH in that list and only been here four matches!
  14. Absolutely amazed at the Crawford deal. As an option off the bench, at best, I wasn't against the idea of him seeing out the season with us. But to sign him up until 2024? Wow. I hope he's much better as a permanent player than he's proven thus far as a loanee.
  15. Will Cleary's arrival signal the end of McCart?
  16. Again, I thought Butterfield looked levels above the rest of our team. He's been so impressive in three appearances, after six months of no football. But **** me, what's that say about the rest? We were garbage tonight. I see no way out of this.
  17. Nothing I disagree with there. Thanks for the well-reasoned thoughts. I refer to last season though, because it shows he can turn a situation around. I think that's what I mean by earning it. And as you say, he's got my support because he's coaching our team. But then, I'm a very optimistic sort. Although this season is a tester!
  18. It was a poor watch and we looked inept up top as always. My only bit of positivity to take from the game was that Butterfield looked decent when he came on and that because he and Devine didn't start, then they ought to start on Wednesday night which should help. But up top we are so poor right now, difficult to see where the goals are going to come from.
  19. I'd personally like to think we'd give him until the end of the season. He earns that for me, after last season.
