  1. It's no as if he left the club 20 year ago, christ! he's no gonnae change THAT much in a few months.
  2. If MoH is being offloaded by The Sevco, and they've not paid their full dues to Saints for him, does he then become a Saints player if no other team wants to buy out the contract?
  3. Christeen Ansell (nee Ruthven, formerly Payne) has lost her recent battle with cancer late last week. Before moving away from Perth some years ago, Christeen played a major role in the life of the Amateur Operatic Society for over 30 years. During that time she served the Society as President, Vice President, Secretary, Committee Member and prompt, but it was as an actor, singer and dancer that she was best known to the members and our audiences. Christeen’s exceptional soprano voice and her ability to play both beautiful romantic roles and brilliant comic characters made her the obvious choice to play leading roles in many of our productions, notably as Nellie in South Pacific, Charity in Sweet Charity, Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls and Ado Annie in Oklahoma, but she was equally happy being a valued member of the chorus or dance team. In our “amateur” society she was a true “professional”, and before leaving Perth was made a Life Member in recognition of the commitment she had made during her time with the Society. Christeen formerly worked with "The GA" and was married to Vic Payne also formerly GA before marrying Trevor Ansell and ultimately emigrating to Spain. She's survived by her children Siobhan and Christopher and her 3 grandchildren.
  4. I was sitting behind the goal. He should have buried it. You're right about him shying away from a header too - although he wasn't the only guilty one. I've given Macca by vote. His touches, flicks and runs are a level above his strike partners. Was tight between him and Foster, who had a great game bombing down the wing and getting balls in. Kane does a lot of work but isn't direct enough, certainly for a striker. I don't know if it's the coaching or what though, but there's been a lot of games where players have passed it wide/backwards when charging towards the box. Maybe a bit of muscle and "directness" would pay a dividend or two. Spoony might have got my vote had he not foolishly blasted it over the bar at the end. But for that or Alston's pass to the keeper Saints would have won. The scoreline flattered Motherwell.
  5. Also, for Solicitors I used MacNabs on Barossa Place, even though they seem to be affiliated with Next Home. Crawford Allan is the guy there that specialises in property and conveyancing.
  6. I second Aberdein Considine. I bought through them and found them excellent. Next Home I found very hot and cold - "pushy" one moment then not getting back to you the next.
  7. oh no! that's awful news. I was in a couple of weeks ago and was speaking to Ian. He was telling me that she was in hospital and not very well. very sad. RIP.
  8. The Saints fans were worse than the Lucerne fans when they came to Perth!
  9. Why? He's entitled to his opinion like everyone else and pays his money.
  10. Injury, Shibster. Looked a sore one. Incidentally, the Ross County keeper was also subbed off. First time I've ever seen all 4 goalkeepers used in a football match.
  11. Off topic somewhat, but also related: The fact that they didn't capitalise on that by pushing season ticket sales, enticing parents to take their kids to games to encourage the next generation of fans was, in my opinion, a spectacular own goal. I had the spare cash money and the feelgood factor from the zeitgeist of the win. But, by the time the season book sales came round, that feeling had dissipated a bit and I was able to analyse the cost of the season book versus cost of paying at the gate for games I would actually be able to manage. Ended up taking the latter option and never bought a season book. Whereas, if I had bought one for that following season, I may well have bought another in seasons since through habit. I can't be the only one that did that. I know my brother was exactly the same as I found out later on that year.
  12. Jimmy Nicholl?! Ha ha ha ha!! Dummy up, ffs.
  13. The ones with the pins in them though, not the namby-pamby plastic ones.
  14. Slightly off topic, but I was having a look at the fixtures list there. Every game against The Club Formerly Known As Rangers, both home and away, take place on a Wednesday night. I say every game, as it would be braw if they were 7th place or below come the split.
  15. The function area through the back was done up some time back and is really smart. I went to the McAvennie & Goram night they had there a while back and it was a good venue. My mate's mrs had her 30th in there a couple of months back and it was great for that too, good stage for the band, etc.
  16. not so sure about that. was certainly squeaky bum time for the last 5 minutes for me. Saints seem to run out of ideas when they get near the box. When they play football they look damn good, but they only seem to do that for 20 mins in the 2nd half (from last three games I've watched). More of that and they can take on anyone.
  17. I was at the game. I felt Kane's running about was great but, again, he was muscled off the ball too much - and that's even with me noticing early season that he'd bulked up a bit. Makes runs into channels and then seem to hide. When he was on the ball, the sum amount of result was eff all, apart from looking for someone else. He's a centre forward for christs sake.
  18. No, and he should have had the cohones to make them re-take the corner.
  19. I like Tom English as well, to be honest. An Irishman, who is a Scottish football journalist, with the surname English.
  20. Not sure what impact it would have (none, most likely) but these points should be raised formally with the SPFL.
  21. JJ - thanks for all of these updates. I don't manage to get to any of the development league games, but it's great having an in-depth report on them on this forum.
