  1. A performance we've all been acustomed to this season, Can't fault the work rate, but a real lack of quality in the final 3rd! Some saying we were awful today, must have been at a different game! We played well at times but there's no denying our forward men have serious issues when it comesto hitting the target never mind scoring! Thought midge was excellent again, muzz put a shift in and scored a decent goal! defence was solid enough although scobbie had a poor second half! McLean for all his link up wasn't great and still failed to muster an attempt on goal! It's not that we aren't creating chances it's just our shooting is woeful at times (swanson spoony and MOH) As for spoony, I feel for the lad, he tried but he had a shocker today! Wort United support I've ever seen at McD!
  2. Still baffled why people think MOH is better playing as a striker! He's strengths are running at defenders from deep! I like him but his finishing at times is a abysmal! Really needs to work on his shooting and get some composure, he lashes at everything? Fair play to the club, they have absolutely hammered the social media for this game, there's been at least 4 or 5 videos, not to mention the £5 for under 18's and the two adults for £20 I'd accompanied with a season ticket holder! Should be looking to hit towards 4000 home fans today, 2000+ United somshould be a decent crowd! We'll finish the season 5th in the attendence league not bad at all!
  3. I doubt it has anything wit money being scare, we have money! Probably more to do with how late and disorganised we were last season with season tickets!
  4. Can't say in too pleased about this Say what you like about the big man, he's our top scorer and without his goals this season we'd be bottom 6! Does anyone know if we offered him a contract or did county offer a longer more financial deal? I can only assume one of the above happened as you wouldn't go to Dingwall for football reasons! In regards to MOH, the boy needs to go to B&Q and buy a tin of composure! The amount of chances he has lashed high and wide this season is unacceptable!
  5. Shout of the game came in the second half when someone chanted to the Dundee Cameraman, " your wasting your spool" haha!
  6. The fact we are taking about making Europe for a 4th consecutive season is quite unbelievable, especially given this season at times has been sore in the eye! ICT have a knack of bottling the run in and with a cup final it should he an interesting 4 weeks
  7. First half wasn't thw greatest both sides lacked any quality! Conditions looked quite tricky with a strong wind hence the wayward passed and poor first touches! Not sure why but other than Midge and Swanson, our players seemed really uncomfortable running with the ball! Second half was much better and we looked a threat going forward! Mannus had one save to make and all in all a really really comfortable three points! Dundee were really poor, hope they get found out in the top 6 Midge man of the match for me closely followed by Seamson who played a key part in both goals! Spoony really needs a kickup the arse sometimes, Good to see him create a goal though! Fans were in full song and out a good shift in! Massive game next week against ICT, we usually do well against them at home!
  8. I'm sure the club would love home games against anyone but ICT Celtic would bring 4000 United and Dundee 2000 Aberdeen 2000 ICT 200
  9. I started this thread and mission accomplished, with Hamiltons free fall continuing! When do the split fixtures get announced?
  10. At the start of the season, top 6 was the target and to be honest, it would have been a disappointing season if we hadn't! We have though and can now focus on finishing 4th Has obviously been a bit of an anti-climax this season after tamely giving up the cup and despite being murder in a number of games this season, Tommy has met his objective! Hopefully we are all over the "we are just a wee club" Syndrome that we seem to have when things aren't going well! We should be expecting to finish in the top 6 and I think that's why this year it doesn't feel as big as an achievement as previous years + the negative tactics and football we've seen this season! Today was a massive win, great to see Graham Score again!
  11. We all can't be wrong I think evey single one of us was baffled at McFadden starting! Almost feels like it was a token gesture from Wright! Brian Graham splits opinions amoungst us fans, the reality is though he is out top scorer and absolutely should have started! Never thought I'd hear myself say it but I would play him ahead of Macca at the moment! Another disappointing result, and another one in which we created sweet FA Kane, Swanson, croft, and graham all on the bench - not sure what Tommy's rationale was! Dundee is a must win to reignite the season!
  12. Let's delete the bottom 6 thread and focus on a Top 6 thread! Spirits have been lifted after Saturday's demolition of United - having looked at the remaining fixtures we have a a brilliant chance of making the top 6 game! (Fixtures courtesy of Randon Guy) Hamilton - St Mirren (A) , Ross County (H) , Motherwell (A) , St Johnstone (H) , Dundee United (A) Dundee - Ross County (A) , Celtic (H) , Aberdeen (H) , Inverness (A) , Dundee United (H) , St Johnstone (A) St Johnstone - Kilmarnock (H) , Celtic (A) , Partick (A) , St Mirren (H) , Hamilton (A) , Ross County (A) , Dundee (H) Kilmarnock - St Johnstone (A) , Motherwell (A) , St Mirren (H) , Ross County (A) , Motherwell (H) , Aberdeen (H) Dundee have a awful run of games, bar Celtic away we have nothing to fear from our remaining games!Hopefully Hamilton's free fall continues!
  13. Fans have every right to boo after a performance like that! Read a few comments tonight from fans who have the little club syndrome "we have had it good" " I watched us in the 80's when we were rotten" etc! Swanson got a hard time from fans, in hindsight some of it was unfair but a combination of him being well off the pace, looking disinterested and fans annoyance at MOH not starting didn't help his cause They played their second strong goalkeeper and the lad did not have a single save to make! 90 mins against the Scottish cup Holders and a team A division above them! That's unacceptable! The Scottish cup obviouly means a lot to the fans and to go out like a whimper like we did was hard to take! All credit to QOS, deserved winners!
  14. Dissappointed it's a team set up not to lose instead instead of being postive and going for the win! That's a line up I could understand at Celtic park or Pittodrie but not Ross County! Could be that because our away form was that bad last year he wants us to be harder to beat! If May was here we'd be playing 4-4-2, he's brought in Morgan as a replacement and has Kane!
  15. Has to be top 6 although there is absolutely no chance the club will come out with a postive statement! It will be a - "no1 priority for a club like us will always be to ensure we stay up" Now whilst I didn't disagree with that sentiment in previous seasons, im not accepting it this year! We should be looking to use last seasons success to set the bar about higher and actually believe that we can finish top 6 again! There is no Rangers Hearts or Hibs! Celtic and Aberdeen will finish 1st and second that's leaves 4 remaining places! I'd be disappointed if we weren't in one of those places come the split! Come saints, let's have a bit of ambition this year, at least with our season target! I don't think there is going to be too much between the teaming 10 teams but if we keep out core 13 / 14 players fit, it's a better core than a lot of other clubs! Come on ther are European places up for grabs again and £80k for every league place! Be postive Saints
  16. Every year we come out with "survival is our aim " And until last season i would agree with that, however given there is no Rangers, no Hibs no Hearts and we have had our best ever season why not try and be positive - if our aim this season is just survival then what's the point!! Look at the other clubs, Kilie, st mirren, ICT, county, Motherwell, Hamilton, etc, are they going to get any better, no! For the first time we should be building on last season with top 6 realistic goal! In regards to assumptions made about profit from the European games! The club said prior to those that there was no funds for new players! That's Fine most fans accept that! I'm'Purely pointing out that the money from those two games wasn't factored into that statement! There is money there to strength and its not a case of strengthening for the sake of it - we need to! Our target this year should be top 6 not "we are little at Johnstone lets just ensure we stay up" sick fed up of hearing that this year! Bar Celtic and Aberdeen, there's no reason why we can't look at finishing 3rd!
  17. 15000 was based on an average £16 which I think is a fair assumption given that of the 15000 at least half of them would be paying adults at £26! Happy to be challenged but 200-250k won't be far away! If the club are saying there isn't any money to strength then I would dispute that! There is for at least 1 player if not 2! A lot of people have bought Into the wee club, let's not spend beyond out means etc and I don't disagree with that but at the end of the day - we are a football club, the fans want to be entertained and want a group if players the managers and players deserve! If there is no money then fair enough! Doesn't look that way though!
  18. The reality is you can't afford to have passengers in a Euopean tie! We had 7, 8 , 9 passengers! You can only ride your luck for so long, we weren't particular good in any of the Luzerne ties, we were poor again tonight and got punished for it! Infuriating thing for me is how many times we float our crosses in, time and time again we wt into good areas , but instead if whipping it in. Putting it in at pace we loft it! Does my box in! People talk about the late goal giving us a lifeline, that goal for me makes little if any difference! We still need to go there and score 2! We are good at grinding out results and defending a lead - to score 2 maybe 3 away feom in Europe is Hollywood! Tie is over! Not defeatist or negative! Just being realistic! All in all a bad night at the office - hope that's al it was!
  19. Over 15,000 fans at our two European games, I make that in the region of £300k if you take into account catering, parking, not sure what the costs are for police etc so let's call it a nice round £250k made! That for me leaves plenty of cash to bring in at lest one player if not two and you'd Still have £100k change! Fans are quick to critise and call for new players after a poor result, in our case though, we've been calling this out since early June before a ball was even kicked! You can are argue this is the same team that knocked out Luzerne however you can only run your luck so many times and players are not going to perform 100% in every match! Squad is thin, there's no real competition for places, and you can't expect 16 or so player to go the season with no injures suspensions etc and perform consistently! Steve if you are reading this do the right thing
  20. Gary space for a small one on the way home?
  21. Ladies lets not bicker about it being 7000 or 8000, the reality is we are going to have a great home support once again for a European game! Worst case scenario we'll have 7500 -8000 Best case 8500-900! We'll soon find out what the crowd is!
  22. We would have been slated for having less than 5knat a home European match! Regardless if the tie was 1st at home we would have managed more than that! 800 odd in Switzerland is also very respectable!
