Ormond saints went into the game today minus some regular players and forced into a team shake up which meant new recruits Ross Kaylor and Willie Fernie both made debuts and Craig Taylor took over between the sticks for for the unavailable Grant Morrison, all three had been credited with appearances at the recent Scotspurs tournament in Edinburgh .

In a bit of a gamble the two McDonald's Gav and Stuart were lined up in the centre half partership and fellow Debutant "Broon" Alan Brown, from the forum was thrown on at centre forward. However all went to plan as a well contested first half drew to a close at 0-0

Into the second half and the home side with home advantage at the excellent Toryglen sports centre went into a 1-0 lead, however the Ormond saints spirit was far from broken and after some good team work on the right hand side Willie Fernie broke his goal scoring duck to tap in the equalising goal.

However the lead was short lived as the home side regained the advantage going 2- 1 up.

As the game went on The balance was restored with a bizzare equaliser as Stuart Mc Donald,s long range drive seemed to take a couple of deflections before finding the net.

Boosted by this slight bit of fortune Ormond Saints took advantage when Ross Kaylor burst through several players to fire the visitors into the lead for the first time.

However the combination of tiredness and injuries to full backs Eric and Steve Laing allowed Queen's Park to pull level and eventually run out 4-3 winners. Despite a 4-3 defeat the day could be seen as a success overall and with the team returning to the Victoria Bar for hospitality and time to mingle with the hosts, once again a game played in the proper spirit Thanks to Ian Campbell and his team for another enjoyable day in Glasgow.
