  1. If the clock was stopped every time the ball was not in play, like in American Football, we'd still be sitting watching the game now. one of the more frustrating moments was when the ref got in the way when Swanson was about to tee up a shot in the 2nd half. We were sitting in the Ormond stand, so it looked almost deliberate. Certainly clumsy anyway. While the refereeing was woeful, Saints really should have beat them comfortably. When Partick Thistle and Kilmarnock come to McDiarmid it's the same negative tactics against us - timewasting, bearhugging, etc. and Saints roll over and take it. Why wasn't something said about their keeper on Saturday who, when the ball went out for a free kick on the left, would pick it up and slowly walk to the right of the box? I was screaming and trying to keep the language under wraps in the family stand!
  2. How much is the hospitality, out of interest? No prices on the OS.
  3. yeah, I'd be interested in finding out. I was volunteering at the Scottish Disability Sport open athletics event, but was home by 10 to 4. If I knew I could have got in for a fiver or even a tenner for the 2nd half I may well have gone.
  4. He's got a hard neck. Hearts players dive, climb all over the back of players and are generally shite. Also, he was hardly known for being the most silky of players in his day. Just a bit of a twonk, really.
  5. True, but better teams than Celtic have been pumped at the Camp Nou. Surprised Rogers went for 5 at the back. Should have treated this game as a "free" and went for it. Barca are used to playing teams who try to park the bus, as shown by their short passing and drifting movement even in the oppositions box. 2, maybe 3 of their goals potentially offside too. Still, a fantastic team to watch and the 3-pronged attack of Neymar, Suarez and Messi is a joy to behold. Even if Neymar is a petulant little w@nker.
  6. Read on "Auld Perth Bairns" on facebook that Tony Sissons has passed away. Must have been cancer as the Courier mentioned Cornhill. Sad. Really nice guy. Funeral on Friday, 12.30. Cremmy.
  7. Yes. I was a fan of "The King of Spain".
  8. what's different about it? looks EXACTLY the same to me!
  9. that's the million dollar (quite literally) question. To think a 10th of Man Utd's transfer budget alone would pay for that sort of thing for grassroots upwards in Scotland.
  10. groundshare is the most attractive proposition. Redevelop Tannadice into a groundshare. Rip away Dens' ailing stands and develop that pitch into a training ground/centre of excellence.
  11. I thought Ando was poor in spells v Hearts, yet others had him pegged for MoTM if not for Danny's sublime performance.
  12. agreed. at the game (about halfway between halfway line and scoreboard) it looked harsh and like Patterson ran into him. In fact, being honest, with it being Walker that took the penalty I thought it was him involved in the incident and taking another dive! Having seen the replay as you mention above, blatant penalty. Don't even know what Tam is thinking. A rest required for him, methinks, and a run in the team for Brad.
  13. Swanson seemed to be everywhere. Plus 2 goals, easily man of the match. Kane gets muscled off the ball too much for my liking, and Ando had two or three very slack passes that were potentially catastrophic. Had to feel sorry for Scobbie, but Brad did a great job coming on for him. Whole dynamic of the team changed when MacLean came on and I felt, from then, we would score. That's no accident and shows the player he is.
  14. That's a shame. Would have had him back at Saints in a heartbeat
  15. Stevie May tweeted that he's now out running. A step in the right direction for the laddie.
  16. what's the West End branch? Is that the one at the top of South Street?
  17. ...in this pic with the youth team? http://www.perthstjohnstonefc.co.uk/newsitemsdetail.php?param=4378
  18. I had that top. No idea what happened to it. Wish I still had it, as it would fit my laddie now.
  19. The big, black "JOMA" writing is shite tae.
  20. supporter isn't compensated if they bought a season book though and can't make these re-scheduled games.

  22. Looking at my wall chart right now, Germany will play either Spain or Italy in the quarters.England to play France IF they beat Bejams in the quarters and then Ger/Spa/Ita in the Semi. Could be an England v Wales final...
