ahhh remember the good old days when the big2 parties claimed PR was a joke?

the quality at international level is now so gash compared to top flight clubs, back in ye olden days an international team was a dream team of superstars, but now with globalisation its a kind of best of the rest, who never play together and look lost most of the time. The fifa ethos of using international football to promote the game across the globe is done and dusted. as much as i love the world cup, in football terms its well beyond its prime. A euro, maybe even a world club league, cant be too far away. money as always, talks.

got to be state of the art training facilities - geographically within an hour or so of so many clubs, not only to benefit saints but makes far more sense to have a national centre excellence rather than every club forking out for their own

lets be fair, england have some decent attackers. not spectacular but decent. the midfield and defence, which have been traditionally strong, are pretty weak. and they dont have a goalie who could hold onto a shampoo bottle in the shower. comparing like for like back to the 60s, sure there werent as many countries,but back then most countries fielded basically pub teams. Youtube some of Bobby Charltons "greatest" goals, and the keeper hasnt even had time to stub out his cigarette!

fouls/peno decisions are subjective so wouldnt be something referred to a tv official. What someone sees as a fair shoulder barge, i might think as an unfair tackle. offsides or whether the ball crossed the line, some of those ridiculous scenarios where players throw themselves to the ground looking to get someone sent off, theyd all be reviewable. Given players tend to stand and argue for about a minute after virtually every contencious decision, replays wont slow down the game

it was an alleged assault last week - despite what the red tops "report" You certainly cant sack someone just because one party makes an accusation - the beeb firstly suspended him, took about a week to investigate and gather evidence, then sacked him based on that. Id say that is a pretty fair reaction all round, no need for a tabloid kneejerk reaction or succulent lamb kowtowing to a million strong petition.

top 6 is a major achievement! outside the ugly sisters, theres 2 decent teams from Embra, 1 up north and at least one down the river. Not to mention similar sized clubs around the country. To consistantly get a top half finish is testament to how well the club is being run in the long term, and not the boom or bust - possible annihilation - that some fans of certain clubs are having to deal with. Compare us to Hibs ATM - arguably a far bigger club than saints - today, would you rather be facing another year in the championship, or having a chance at a UEFAcup place? COYS

its not even usually cod - coley, whiting,pollack, they are all subs - numerous places have been caught serving cheaper fish and taken to court. nothing wrong with them, in fact its probably environmentally better to eat something like coley, its just the tendancy is to ask for cod and chips, and end up getting something else

i used to have a US driving licence which was very handy when you got pulled for speeding in the UK. polis knew theyd never get a conviction and basically waved you off. likewise otherside of the atlantic, flash the british licence and say , yes ill turn up for court in 28 days time.....
