Scobby_SJFC
I see this as being hollow and very stupid. Firstly its a friendly by a new coach so he will pick different players due to retirement, new ideas etc and secondly we all know 75% etc of these pl;ayers will be straight back into the team when the big games come knocking, totally pointless, should draw a line under it and move on

The players who were at the World Cup deserve a punishment of some sort. At least this will give Blanc a chance to give others a go - most likely youngsters. I wouldn't be surprised to see Anelka, Evra maybe even Ribery and Benzema (what with their scandal) not playing for France again.
Scobby_SJFC
The players have already had their punishment and that was that Dommench was the coach at the world cup. Persoanlly I think they will all be back, I cannot see France leaving these world class players out of their team, personally for me I couldnt care what players do in theior personal life, as long as it does not interfear with the football
Morientes
I reckon they'll be back soon. This is a political stunt, a PR move by the new manager. I'm pretty sure he'll want/need the top players back for the qualifiers. Making an example of them in a friendly is a safe way to do it without damaging a qualification campaign, and it also shows they have taken action internally in case UEFA/FIFA can or would take any further action. Only risk is it pisses some of the players off. But he's probably contacted them all to tell them before this happened anyway. Does anyone know much about French football? Do they have decent youngsters coming through?
