  1. I dont think Lomas quite understands the importance and pride our fans would take in European football next year. Reaching Europe will always be our highest aspiration, as winning the title simply isn't possible for a club outside the old firm. Suggesting Europe is a 'hindrance' just stamps on the hopes of all St.Johnstone fans, young and old. Took my 90 year old grandad to his last game as a season ticket holder, I quoted Lomas's comments to him and he reacted with 'we spend years fighting tooth and nail to get where we are, and now weer here it's an inconveniance. ludicrous' I personally think its too early to make a judgement on Lomas but just thought I'd offer some food for thought.
  2. would be criminal to look past Jody Morris. It's all about having connections these days, and he aint short. excuse the puns...
  3. The lack of party members and campaigners from all parties who are willing to canvass and grind out votes is certainly noticeable. I'm young myself and this is the first year i've actively involved myself in campaigning. I think I'm the only active member of the SNP without a free bus pass! It became apparent that I'm one of few people, which I think is a real shame. I'm not in the Letham constituency due to the boundary changes, but me and a few other party members were certainly outside polling stations in our constituency from 7 this morning, engaging with voters and doing our best to grind out votes. However not once did I see another of the parties doing the same. Im sure they'd love to, there are just very few people willing too. There is just no man power. I think your suggestion that members of political parties show 'complete apathy' is very narrow minded. I'm a student, I don't get paid for helping the party, but I'm passionate about the countries future. I want independence for Scotland and I plan on campaigning right up until the day we get it. Could be 1-5 years, could be 20 years. I was out my bed at 6 this morning manning polling stations until 3, then happened to have a history exam, then canvassed 200 houses in Muirton in the evening, before sampling at the counting of votes till 6.30 in the morning. I'm not saying everyone should do the same, but I think people need to step back and think about the work that goes into an election campaign. Still, It's all worth it. A majority SNP government is within touching distance!
  4. half 6 in the morning and i'm just back from the count, overdosed on caffeine but its all good! a historic day for the SNP, a historic day for Scotland.
  5. Spent the morning doing a bit of last minute campaigning outside a few polling stations in Perth, turnout seem's steady! From the people i've spoke to it seems as if the SNP will win the election quite considerably, finges crossed.
  6. That top bloke Martin Luther King, Jr once said, "I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy." I agree entirely, i don't see this as something to celebrate, i see it as just another chapter in the everlasting 'war against terror'. It's a relief to hear the US government conducted a successful mission, and it's a timely boost to moral, but there are still thousands of men just as vile and dangerous as Osama out there. I fear the US will take their eye off the ball now, which could prove disastrous.
  7. The line up has improved dramatically from the past few years in my opinion. They've got rid of most of the commercialised pop that haunts the charts and replaced it with crackin' live bands, such as Ocean colour scene, Beady eye, the Strokes and Primal Scream. Sublime
  8. An easter egg.... and for those who have their heart content on playing for the club next season to be given the opportunity to show us what their made of
  9. Yes, we expected more, and deserved more in those games. I saw obvious signs of complacency and like many fans, haven't enjoyed watching the saints recently. But the backlash only properly started after yesterday's games, so i reckon it's only now that the players will appreciate how pants they've been and do something about it. In other words, we've been pish, but from now, we will improve.
  10. Really looking forward to seeing how the boys bounce back for this game. It's matches like this that tell us all we need to know about the attitude of our players. Those who have their heart set on remaining a saintee next year should play out their skins, and i'm sure many of the lads will. Really positive about this game. The pressure is on and I think Del and the team will shine. 2-0 Saints
  11. He effectively signed a contract with a top flight/championship English club with today's performance. In a few years time we look back with pride that a player of his quality used to dawn a St.Johnstone shirt every week
  12. I got on the train for a half, at 18 years of age. Somethin' worth celebrating
  13. I don't lack the ability of any player in the squad. At the end of the day it all comes down to attitude, and its on that basis that we should get rid of players. Sammy is a prime example of a player who brings the club down with his lazy, hap hazzard style of football. Aslong as we don't shelve any hard workers (Invincible, May etc) I trust us to bounce back with a strong season next year.
  14. Enjoyable day out, until the clock struck 12.45. It just didn't happen for us. Murray Davidson was a class above the rest. We will be doing very well to cling on to him. I dont know if its been mentioned yet, but on a side note, did anyone notice Doobs prolonged acknowledgement of our fans after the match? A player saying a final fair well or just an appreciative and sporting proffesional?
  15. The parents have managed to book a 'holiday' that coincides with the game, to some remote place on the west coast. I've spent the morning planning my journey to the game. It involves getting up at some ridiculous time in the morning, hitching to dunnoon (fingers crossed) catching a ferry, then jumping on a train before getting a bus to the ground. Should be a treat of a day. Got my ticket for the North Stand. Bouncin!
  16. Crackin band! A breath of fresh air in the current music scene. They were on top form at the Barras and i'm very interested to see how Noels solo album will compare.
  17. Got my ticket! Tickets went on pre-sale this morning on Gigs in Scotland. Will be a cracker.
  18. I've put my money on Tricky Trickster.. no particular reason why, just liked the name i guess..
  19. Crackin result, The aberdeen game could be crucial now, I can see us bringing a great support if we get a result against united. P.s Here's a group for all you facebookers. Mon the saaaints. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=113006885382342&ref=ts
  20. Yeeup i'm going, Wasn't easy to choose between the Saints game and Frankie, he's just edged it though. should be a very good gig.
  21. Haha I was sitting next to that guy and witnessed the confrontation, he suggested that you go meet him outside for a fight after the game and then he leaves 10 minutes early, funniest moment of the game for me. He was the kind of tool we could do without.
  22. Pish. Looks like i'll be travelling to school in a kayak tommorow.
  23. I go to school in crieff and we were sent home yesterday because of the snow, was very surprised to hear the school was also closed today considering the weathers fine in perth.. apparently the roads are a nightmare though. I'm not complaining, Nice wee day in bed.
  24. Completely disagree, It's good to have a Saints player whos not scared to take players on, Good player in my opinion.
