  1. Mate at the game says: "Have we been this tired and uninterested in the last few games? We can't string two passes together and just hoof it up the park all the time. It's gash." Dear oh dear
  2. I'd be playing Mooner in place of McInnes, who has been absolutely garbage, and Weatherson up front with Peaso.
  3. If that's the reason then it is utter nonsense - there is one sliproad off and one on at each side of the road - the same as any similar junction anywhere ever!
  4. Which is outrageous. Roadworks like these (where there are often no workers for a mile at a time) are usually a 50 limit. Normally you go through at around 40mph in 50 limit roadworks as someone ahead goes slow. In these, as TS says, people trundle through at 20. Going through them every day is unbelievably frustrating. On the subject of stupid speed limits - can anyone explain why the piece of road formerly home to Auchenkilns roundabout is a 50 limit?! Back in the day, when the roundabout was still there, you could fly up to it at 70mph, slow down for the roundabout (which was shit) then speed away again at the full speed limit. Now, having spent millions installing a great new grade separated junction, the limit is reduced to fifty, despite the road being infinitely safer than it ever was before, and much safer than pieces of road before and after the junction that have not been upgraded and that have 70mph limits!
  5. I'd be extremely worried about the official site and whoever is running it if it goes down when they want to make an announcement! Putting something like that online should be as simple as putting a post on this forum!
  6. Tranmere - you make an excellent point. I'd be shocked if Freeland did see Hardie use an elbow. For a start, the ball was out wide left and Sheerin (i think) was about to be tackled - surely he was looking there? Also, he played on for a fair few seconds afterwards even allowing Saints to get the ball in to the centre where Hardie was standing trying to score. Surely if he saw it he would blow straight away and send him off? All in all a bit bizarre. Also raging about the Daquin handball that the linesman gave but Freeland waved away. Time and again we complain about linesmen (or assistant referees!) not putting their flag up when they see a foul, then when an assistant actually assists he gets waved away when he had a clear view! And finally, why was Zemlik only given a second yellow for violent conduct? He'll now miss one game, whereas Hardie - who was sent off for the same offence - will miss more. Outrageous.
  7. The back is definitely the problem so far this season. However, I do think that our first choice centre half pairing will be James/Ruti, with someone else at right back (Irvine?!). That said, none of our strikers have scored yet this season. Daal and Stewart both look a bit toothless, but again I think Milne will be paired with Peason once fit. I also think we should start with the midfield that finished the game - McCluskey, Hardie, Sheerin, Weatherston. McInnes had a shocker yesterday. Alan Main barely had to touch the ball in the second half, and I'm pretty disappointed we didn't get a third. Hogarth made a great save from McCluskey's shot, and from the resulting corner I'm not entirely sure what happened - but it looked to me that the ball was sneaking in when someone flicked it up straight in to the keeper's hands from a couple of yards out. Also, we had one - if not two - great penalty shouts, particularly the one on Stanic. It was as clear a shove as you will ever see in a football match anywhere - Weatherston had teed it up for him at the back post and there was a two hand shove on him. Blatant, but the ref bottled it. Also, WTF was Ruti's booking all about?! A perfect tackle from the front that took nothing but the ball, and he got booked! Two minutes later, and someone slides in on him from the back, injures him and play goes on! The ref was doing alright until there was about fifteen minutes left on the clock. All in all, not the best, but as is said above, we have had great starts a couple of times in recent years and finished down the league. We have seen Falkirk and St Mirren start with one point frmo a possible six and go on to win it easily. Cliche I know, but it's a marathon, not a sprint. Time to get things right against Dundee next week.
  8. As a total aside SS, I very much enjoyed your bringing hit US legal drama L.A. Law in to a vital political debate on Scottish broadcasting yesterday:mrgreen:
  9. Hi everyone, Anyone know where I can get a free piece of software that will convert .rm and .ram video formats in to .wmv or .avi or .mpg. I have dozens of Saints videos on my computer in .ram and .rm formats, but they don't work on youtube. I have found a few convertors online, but the free versions only convert half the video or put a water mark on the video making them unwatchable. Any ideas? Jamie
  10. Had Falkirk, East Fife and Dumbarton - £4 returned £24. Nice start.
  11. To be fair, while their squad was severely depleted their starting line up was quite close to their best. They were one of the best teams in the form guide for a long time last season. (excuses in early)
  12. Anyone had updates from the game about what the hell we are playing at?!
  13. Going to try to play a few times this year after missing all of last season pretty much. Count me in for this one. Dunno who is in goal these days but I can play in or out depending on who turns up or whatever. Cheers, Jamie
  14. Alan Main had an even better one a few years back against Hearts at Tynecastle. I'm pretty sure its on a video somewhere along the line. Someone hits a shot and it takes a wicked deflection and Main makes an incredible save. Maybe i just like it because I'm going wild in the background!
  15. 06/07 - St Johnstone 0-0 Clyde 05/06 - St Johnstone 4-0 Queen of the South 04/05 - Airdrie 1-0 St Johnstone 03/04 - St Johnstone 4-1 Queen of the South 02/03 - St Mirren 0-2 St Johnstone 01/02 - Celtic 3-0 St Johnstone 00/01 - Rangers 2-1 St Johnstone 99/00 - St Johnstone 1-4 Hearts 98/99 - Motherwell 1-0 St Johnstone 97/98 - St Johnstone 1-1 Dundee United 96/97 - St Johnstone 0-0 Falkirk 95/96 - St Johnstone 0-2 Dundee 94/95 - St Johnstone 1-1 Raith Rovers 93/94 - St Johnstone 1-1 Dundee United 92/93 - St Johnstone 3-0 Airdrie. So in the last fifteen years it is Played 15, Won 4, Drawn 5, Lost 6. Not the best record, although we had a massive dry spell between 93/94 and 02/03 without a single victory. Since then we've done OK!
  16. Best goal ever - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzVdgJ47DTo
  17. Please post all your Saints videos in here - be they goals, fan reactions or whatever. Please refrain from discussion on the videos - do that in separate threads if need be. I want this to be purely for links to videos. I have dozens of videos from years ago on my computer and will upload when I get a chance. I believe someone else had several decent videos uploaded to a site somewhere not so long ago but I have no idea what happened to it. Any chat/discussion in this thread will be deleted - links to videos only please. Thanks, Jamie
  18. Thread created and stickied - have a read of it and post away!
  19. That looks very much like the backs of my and Mr Alahan's head directly in front of the camera!
  20. Edinburgh is great for a night out - I've had much better nights there than in Glasgow (although I do love a Garage trip occasionally).
  21. Signed framed shirt from (I think) our 94-95 season. Whatever year it was we had the quality shirt that has all the different colours of blue on it. It previously hung on the walls of the Gannochy sports bar at Stirling University, but when that sadly shut (RIP) I managed to get my hands on it. Quality.
  22. Oooh the Davester Oooh the Davester! Legend. Bring him back.
  23. It's in Almondbank - out past McDiarmid on the road to Crieff. Only about a mile or two past McD mind. Still a bit out of the road for going to the races unless you are driving. Plenty of places in the town that would suit your needs, and you could get one of the buses that runs from Mill Street to Scone races.
