I have lots of mates I used to go to the footie with in the late seventies, all of the eighties and some of the nineties.
So the last inane and drivelling 12,000th post I dedicate to three posters on here, slf, Rickardo and Paul&Shark. I cannot imagine somebody having more fun going to the fitba' all these years than I did when I was with these tools. Even on the odd occasion when I get back, we still seem to be the most raucus and loudest people in the crowd even now we are just sad old middle aged gits. SingaporeSaint was on most days about as popular as Thatcher so a fitting day to sign off and pass away quietly. SS

She moved to the Ritz to recover from an operation on her bladder after concerns she couldn't manage in her home. As an ex prime-minister who no doubt had considerable personal wealth, surely her family were entitled to see that she spent her last days in comfort? With security considerations, it's not like they could have sent her to a travelodge.

If you work hard to make the top of whatever your profession is and make a large amount of money, your family may do the same for you.

As I said, disagreeing vehemently with her policies is one thing but actively celebrating her death is another entirely. A proportion of politicians seem to be sponging crooks and I have no particular like for any of them but there seems to be more venom reserved for Thatcher than there is for serious criminals or other real evil people.

Going by reports in the press she actually delined a full state funeral and asked that they stop any plans for fly pass etc as they should not be wasting their money,

As I sais not a fan but certainly find folj celebrating her death an embarrassment!.

Whatever I might have thought of her and the policies she eschewed at the time - I find it unseemly and demeaning to dance upon her grave.  I have no time at all for those who are in my opinion being quite disgracefully disrespectful to someone recently deceased.  It does not right any wrong.

As I have posted on other sites, everyone has their political views, everyone, sorry, some people hate the things she did,but I am sorry that people can react to someones passing the way that they are. I was brought up to respect people, and although I have a personal view, this woman, was a mother, grandmother...

My father refused to buy his mothers council house out of principal. Though my father's political beliefs are slightly different to mine, I do respect that he turned down making a "fast buck" off the back of the policies of the Thatcher he disliked. Unlike most of the moaning chunts on this post who probably live in there shitty council house that their parents bought for a song not believing their luck. Whilst others went out and worked hard to live a life that they dreamed about and sweated over their mortgages but have no regrets. Basically...F#ck Off to the weak, uneducated and non ambitious. Please don't pass on your laziness and limp ambitions to your children.

As Fair Maid said there are far worse estates than the ones in Perth. I lived in Cumbernauld for a short time. Now that is hell.....

Hey guys, its okay slagging of the schemes and yes none of them are very good to look at, and that goes for Western Edge, Cherrybank etc, but people live in these places, its their homes, we all didn't get brought up in mansions on Kinnoull Hill.

Have passed the house on Argyll road with the keyhole shaped stone cladding many a time over the years. Been like this for nearly twenty years (ish).

The worst buildings I have ever visited were Barkers Buildings on Milne Street (cramped flat), and McQuibbans Buildings on Shore Road. Mates of mine stayed in McQuibbans, thankfully briefly, the next door neighbour came to ask if they could borrow their kitchen scales. They didn't have any, so couldn't help.
