  1. Our goal was indeed a thing of beauty Mike and wouldn't have been out of place at the start of the season. Started from the back with Jason who looks the part striding forward. In fairness not all of his passes came off but its great seeing him having the confidence to do that. Neat left footed flick from Foster in the lead up to it too! Their goal was just ridiculous and the boy that scored it was in disbelief that it had gone in. It was a fantastic strike and it looked like Zander was unsighted due to players in front of him. Not a game to remember but 2 good goals.
  2. As has been said the most bizarre thing about the issue of scrapping the reserve side is that we are finally reaping the dividends of all our investment. Going through our first team squad it is the best it has been in recent times for our own/developed youngsters. Surely Alistair Stevenson and Tommy have a plan for continuing the fine work that has been done? Weird timing for such a retrograde step otherwise.
  3. Missing Callum Davidson's influence? Something not right there for sure.
  4. Abject performance from our captain and sufficiently bad to warrant being "rested" until he decides his future. Young Liam Gordon looks a more than capable deputy. Jason Kerr was excellent (as usual). Ross Callachan was impressive in the middle. Chris Kane was the pick for me, putting in another full shift, scoring a true striker's goal and nearly getting a worldy before that.
  5. Just home after a much happier trek up the A9! The word of the night would appear to be brutal and I certainly wouldn't argue with that. Agree with Hoodlum's summary 100%. The most important thing about that game was obviously getting the three points. That apart it was grim fare indeed. A wee word of admiration for the St Mirren fans tonight, I thought they were fantastic.
  6. Hoping to see a rejuvenated St Johnstone turning the Paisley Saint over in some style.
  7. Visit now and again. Still a great resource.
  8. Always likely to pick up a niggle or two until he's fully fit. Thankfully unrelated and not sounding serious.
  9. Black road all the way from the Highlands this morning although it looked worse in Perth with a lot of lying water. Safely back up the road and watching the rugger (not going well).
  10. The worst sign for me on Saturday was our body language. Even in the warm up it doesn't look as happy a group players as it did before the break. It's also plain that we haven't played as well since Liam was shunted left (where he is exposed for pace). He was a rock playing in front of the back 4. No disputing Goss is a good player but I'd have Liam back in the holding role. One result going our way will reinvigorate our season and what better time for that than against Hibs this week. Can someone hide the groundsman's green and white socks before this game please?
  11. That was a first for me today, seeing a player throw the ball out of play (twice). Our shys are shambolic.
  12. Three ex Saints "starring" for Carlisle United today. Miller and Grainger started with Scougall on at half time.
  13. Three one Saints ......and then bust the treble treble! COYS
  14. Would settle for a cheeky 0:1 away win but I'll be happy with a point.
  15. Sad news. A name I didn't recognise but he played a good number of games for us. RIP
  16. I want to hear Avril bleating how rubbish his team are after this. COYS
  17. Jason with as accomplished a display at cb as I've seen for an awful long time. Liam was outstanding too and mention for Tony Watt. The work that guy does and the punishment dished out to him are incredible. No point mentioning Zander, you just expect him to be that good every week now!
  18. Kane did well at both ends on Wednesday. He's a wee pest to defenders (when attacking of course).
