  1. Oof. Thanks for another great Saturday night Saints… Truly grim.
  2. Pretty grim that any player in a team that's in the position we are in should feel they have the luxury of taking "a huff". Toddlers in adult's bodies. If I allowed a bad attitude (aka "the huff") to be seen by my employer if we were under pressure to deliver, I wouldn't last too long - sure others are in the same boat. Frankly, I'd rather we punted the both of them (one is a lightweight currently being found out in this league, and the other was an overhype not exactly setting the heather alight) and brought in a couple of guys who actually show a bit of character - since "character" is exactly what this team is missing right now. There should be no place for overgrown children. Don't want to give 100%? There's the door.
  3. Great to see D*ck Campbell back in management with East Fife. Did a great job at Arbroath, taking them as far as they probably could go. The game needs characters like him.
  4. Neil Warnock appointed interim manager of the Sheep. This, from X (formerly Twitter) >>> "I was going to start next week but the lure of taking over for a game like tomorrow night is too good..." Neil Warnock wants to "have a little bit of fun" after being appointed interim Aberdeen manager. <<< "A little bit of fun", eh? Strange thing to say. Can't wait...
  5. Here's an oldie but a goodie, Gort - Dundee is the middle of nowhere though
  6. Cleland always seems to have been a reliable pair of hands when called upon, despite not having much obvious wow-factor (at least as far as I can see). That's why he's probably been at Saints as long as he has - managers have come and gone but Cleland always stays around. I think you're probably right - he's probably been considered for manager before but has indicated he doesn't want it, and I don't think that will change this time round. He seems a good guy to have at the club, and offers some consistency, and I hope he stays with us when the new manager comes in, whoever that is. It's probably just a coincidence that he was at the game last night, but Craig Levein coming in doesn't fill me with complete dread either. Other than that, I don't know who I'd want as manager. Just not Brown or Mulgrew.
  7. Regardless, the points made re Saints and previous injury prone players still stand.
  8. Over the years, Saints have made a habit of signing or extending the contracts of players that are prone to injury, and who seem to spend inordinate amounts of time out of contention. I guess that's where the reputation for being sentimental comes in - we so seem to bring old bring players back in some capacity, and "stand by" long term crocks more than other clubs - too much for my liking. Muzz, Spoony, Chris Kane, Stevie May and more recently Clark all fit that mould. If the club is struggling for cash at the moment, it seems strange to me that this is another example - surely in Macca's longer term way of thinking, he'd want us to avoid giving contracts to players who aren't actually going to be playing.
  9. Currently working as a pole dancer at a place in North West London
  10. Don’t going saying that now - the happy clappers will laugh at you 🤫😂
  11. Absolute disgrace. The club is dying. McLean was never the answer - he was a good part of the problem and should have been punted with rest of the staff along with Clum. Shows you the level of nous of the disinterested board giving him the job in the first place. Obvious the guy hasn't got a clue. If they punt him Monday and get someone who knows what they are doing we might have chance. Otherwise it's curtains. Feel sorry for those who paid to watch this today.
  12. That may work. Did that not happen to Ando, and when the captaincy was taken away he returned to form?
  13. Wonder if it's the same lot that were looking to buy Raith Rovers recently, but pulled out?
  14. Nah. He's the striker coach as well. We've gone through way too many long stretches where we simply can't hit a coo's a*** wi' a banjo. Look at the misses yesterday... No room for sentimentality. He's Inept and should have been dumped as well.
  15. Don't care at this stage. McLean in temporary charge is not the right decision - IMO he has been part of the problem. Bulletproof handing the reigns to McLean is just another example of him not knowing what the f*** he's doing. Hopefully not long until he's away either. Would have been better with Liam. First thing to do is have a change of captain on field, and drop Gordon to the bench for a bit. Simply not good enough for a long time. Maybe taking the captains role away will allow him to rediscover some form. James McFadden can go f*** himself too
  16. The bottom line is, always has been and MUST remain, if you don't have evidence to support your allegation, you cannot make the allegation in the first place. Mason Greenwood MUST be assumed to be innocent in the absence of evidence to show otherwise. An unsubstantiated Social Media post, and indeed, one that can NOT be justified, is NOT evidence. However as you say, in the real world, the fallout is that the lad has lost the confidence of others, simply on the strength of this action being brought against him. Mud sticks, as they say. Who knows, that may have been the original intention. It wouldn't be the first time. I think the police are culpable here for taking this to court in the first place. The allegation was baseless, and the police MUST do better. Sadly however, we live in back-to-front-absurd-progressive world where legislation is based on the feelings of individuals, much of the time based on demographic. This sort of thing is far more common than people think, and I'm glad a high profile case like this has has this result. The law has limits, and people who make accusations with no evidence, as well as the police, have got to know there are consequences when their case fails.
  17. Good God. We didn't get out of a League Cup group we should have walked and have lost our first league game at home. All with "the new team" and with "CD leading", and sorry to say, all horribly predictable. Our better players have gone and as yet, have not been replaced, even though the club and manager have known for literally over a year that this situation would be the case. The consensus is that the team is actually in a worse state than they were last season, if that's at all possible. A number of us won't be back at a Saints game again until Davidson has gone - and don't DARE call me "not a real supporter" - I've stuck with Saints through more bad times over the decades than I care to remember. How much is enough for you?
  18. My fear exactly. I'm going to tag this here....
  19. Let's look at this dispassionately. Say you have a family issue. Do you say to your work: a) I have family issues, can you work with me until these are resolved please? You gave me a 2 year contract after all and I'd like to work with you positively until such time as I can give 100% again a) I have family issues, I'm off, bye. This is a manager who has presided over the departure and apparent "freezing out" of players since he's been here. There are reports from all over that he's somewhat "inflexible" as a person. This has been sudden, there's no further explanation, he's simply gone out and replaced him. Believe what you like, but from where I'm stitting, I smell s***e
  20. "Family reasons"? Hmm. Melamed, Eetu, Cleary. Someone, somewhere is toxic...
  21. Broken record and stating the obvious, but this team and coaching staff have managed to screw it up again. The requirement before the game started was to ensure we finished 2nd to give ourselves any chance of progressing whatsoever. We needed a win and to score more goals than QOS, should they win, which they did. We didn’t achieve that, as we’ve failed to achieve any real objective this whole competition - again against another lower division side. I absolutely refuse to believe that we didn’t have players out there who are better, man for man, than those than. with all due respect, Ayr United. A total disgrace. Tactically and motivationally, this manager is hopeless and clueless. Why is he still being allowed to take the team backwards in this Groundhog Day fashion? Get. Shot. Of. Him. Now.
  22. Failed to win against 4 lower league teams on the bounce now. Ok, 2 were friendlies, but all the same - “prep for the campaign” and all that… Feel crap about this, I gave him the benefit of the doubt all last season but I now won’t be back until Davidson’s gone. Flame me for being not a “true fan” all you like, but fans need to vote with their feet now otherwise nowt will change.
  23. Hopefully Davidson was the first application in the in-box...
