  1. Cillian Sheridan playing against Barcelona in the Nou Camp tonight!
  2. Wouldn't be too surprised if we were in for Lee Miller to replace Iwelumo. Released by Carlisle.
  3. For those who see the u-20's regularly, realistically how many of them could make the step up to the first team squad next season?
  4. Sky Sports transfer blog now saying we are signing James Dunne on loan from Stevenage until the end of season to cover Muzz's injury. Looks decent, their player of the year from last season, but now on transfer list - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25576234
  5. Sky Sports saying on their transfer blog it is Iwelumo on deal to end of season.
  6. http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/news/headlines/10927648.No_Ngoo_update_after_talks/?ref=var_0 Michael Ngoo available on loan. Would be perfect for us. Was impressed by him at Hearts last year.
  7. Surely Van Dijk should be in line for a 2 game ban after his elbow, seemingly not seen by the ref. Remember this?
  8. Thought Jahic was class all day. Hope we can find the cash to keep him beyond January.
  9. Hope the open topped bus has been booked.
  10. For those interested, Sandaza has gone back to Spain, signing for CD Lugo in the Second Division - http://www.marca.com/2013/07/18/futbol/equipos/lugo/1374175983.html
  11. Fantastic interview there with Wright on Radio Scotland
  12. That was a quite phenomenal performance. Well done to all of the staff and players. Absolutely fantastic.
  13. Vine seems to have forgotten that there wasn't a queue of clubs lining up to sign him last summer. We took a chance on a guy who had hardly played football for 3 years and he did well, scored some good goals but his contributions towards the end of the season were not great. It was understandable the club could not give him a new deal for financial reasons and he was told this in good time by Lomas, so what is he whinging about? He's only got what I assume is a decent deal from Hibs due to Saints taking a gamble on him last summer. He'd do well to remember that rather than slagging us off.
  14. Abeid free to leave Newcastle: http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2013/06/25/newcastle-united-duo-abeid-and-amalfitano-told-they-re-free-to-leave-61634-33521594/ Given his previous press ramblings, expecting to see Derek Adams swoop now.
  15. I would imagine both Brittain and Craig will have signed a formal contract of employment, with the start date of the contract being stated to be 1 July 2013 (or whatever start date is appropriate).
  16. Not really a fair comparison with McInnes and Coyle's win ratio. Coyle only managed us in the first division and McInnes' stats are skewed by the first division championship winning season. I was one of those very unsure about Lomas at the start of the season, but he really turned it around brilliantly and the performances in the Dundee United and Motherwell games at the end of the season were two of the best I remember seeing from us - great organisation, work rate and a bit of quality as well. If Wright gets the job, we'll see how much of that was him and how much of that was Lomas. I think he may have made a massive mistake going to Millwall - just can't see it working out. However really appreciate the job he has done at Saints and wish him all the best for the future.
  17. A milk drinking man of peace now apparently: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/duncan-ferguson-is-five-years-tee-total-1544796
  18. Highlights here: Good to see the linesmen getting almost all the big decisions wrong. Sutton looks onside for the first tap in that was ruled out, Ngoo looks clearly ahead of the play for their first goal and it seems to me the Hearts right back is playing Maclean onside for our first that was ruled out. Muzz was clearly offside for the later one though. Agree with an earlier comment that the second half performance was cowardly - its easy to lump a ball forward and hope something happens, but that's not at all how we've played generally under Lomas. But we did it the entire second half last night, which suggests it was on his instructions. Coupled with the Craig on the right nonsense, and the ridiculous substitution of Abeid, probably our most dangerous player up to that point, it may have been his worst night as Saints boss. Unless we win on Saturday, I'm concerned that the season will completely peter out like last season, only this time we'll be in the bottom six so there will be even less to play for. God knows what home crowds will be like if that happens. Overall we've had a great season so far for a club our size, but with the quality of player we have (which will almost certainly decline in coming seasons due to the financial situation) this could be our last chance to achieve a really strong league finish, and unless Lomas sorts it out quickly we risk blowing it.
  19. No more 4-5-1 for this. If Craig plays on the right wing on Saturday serious questions will need to be asked of Lomas and his judgement. Cregg suspended, McCracken has been woeful recently and I think we really need to freshen things up, so my team would be: Mannus Mackay - Anderson - Wright - C.Davidson Caddis - Abeid - M.Davidson - Hasselbaink Maclean - Tade Pretty attacking, but we need to have a go, so why not. No way Lomas will go for it though.
  20. Thought we were poor tonight. 4-5-1 was completely the wrong system for us to play. Can understand why it has worked in previous matches, but Dundee were there for the taking and we really should have gone with two up top and put them under more pressure. Vine and in particular Craig looked lost out wide. Managed to get ourselves in to the lead somehow, and sure their second was offside, but to be honest they just about deserved it. We were really slack at 2-1 up and them down to 10 men. There was a warning a couple of minutes before the goal, when Nish had it in the net and the flag did go up, but we didn't react. Far too slow to close down, and they got the equaliser. Hearts next week a must win now for me. Hope to see us go back to a 4-4-2 with Tade through the middle, as Hearts look like another team at the moment who we need to attack and put pressure on. Our system tonight meant we stood off too much and just could not build up any fluency or momentum. And Collum is a disgrace of a referee.
  21. Seen the Dobster as one of the guests on Goals on Sunday this morning. He's half the man he used to be. Literally.
  22. Has to be Stevie May. The boy should have a big future.
  23. Thought we were very good for first half hour and last half hour, but lost our way in between. Gartland was a rock but how Craig missed that chance I'll never know. Should have got young boy at half time who was sliding on his knees on there instead of Craig - legend!
