I actually did take some of your points on board.  But a lot of what you said was just a rant and at times very far from the truth.  Even on this post you're wrong.  Yes there have been events at McD - but Saints simply rented out the ground for them, they did not "host them".  And we have never hosted Mormons anyway.  You've clearly got a serious issue with the Chairman on a personal level, neither I nor anyone else on here can help you with that.

Is there a wee competition going on about who can have a go at the club for the most things at the moment?  Every 2nd thread on here seems to be steeped in negativity - "nae new players"  "everybody that works for the club isnae happy with the Chairman" "There'll be a big crowd on Thursday - naw there winnae" "The club should have had an event organised for pre-game" - honestly it's depressing reading the forum just now.

You want us to invest in youth, pay twenty players wages for two months when we're barely getting any income, give pay rises to numerous players, keep the facilities up to an respectable standard, advertise all over the town, pay for chartered flights and increase our wage bill. All in one Summer?

There was always going to be a Summer where we'd have to "neglect" the first team and try and spend our money on both the youth and facilities instead. This is that Summer, and quite frankly we should have done it years ago as we're miles behind with the training facilities at McDiarmid. We should be thankful we've waited until we've got a solid squad when its being done.

As expected, I met nothing but a bunch of sound folks. It was quite lovely to have the town invaded with friendly Scots. The older guys I met in Legends on Tuesday, the PSJ lads whom we had a game with, and the fans who came to Zone on Wed, to the randoms dotted about all over town on the Thursday. It was a good craic. I'm quite sure there will be a Saint or two coming back to LU for a wee holiday.

I was outside Zone when the kerfuffle took place. A few daft laddies (who'd probably been getting smashed in the sunshine all day) almost letting the side down for you by goading and throwing beer at the worst kind of bams with hooligan tendencies. Thankfully there were enough sensible punters on both sides to stop it from being anything more than drama queens swinging their handbags at each other.

Quite a few of the Swiss lads have commented to me how sound they found the Scottish fans to be.

Just to add. The SFA didn't pay for the final out of their 10% cut - that wouldn't have paid for the fireworks and balloons - probably literally. All income is chucked in a big pot. The costs are paid. The SFA took 10% of what was left, and then split what was then left between DU and Saints.

Right, this is tedious. Move on.

I think we were at Steve Broon is a chunt because he didn't buy some American a pint.........

Yeah, I got the same.  But the guy makes so many claims and then refuses to answer questions when challenged that I wasn't really surprised.

"We're in trouble right now"?  What utter, utter garbage.

"Our manager is very angry at his chairman right now" - I take it Tommy phoned you and told you this because he hasn't said a word in the media over here about being very angry with hi chairman.

The more you post the more obvious it becomes that Steve not coming over and personally thanking you for attending his Dad's dinner is the reason for your dislike of him.  Give it a rest.

Last season Chris Millar was injured for the Rosenberg away tie and we put on a young guy called Stevie May.

Didnae do to bad throughout the season.

So perhaps some other young guy is ready to step up, hopefully with a similar effect.

an awful lot of folk making assumptions.

first of all who says the Directors are not paying themselves?

As for the Board would you prefer aboard like Sevco where everyone is in it for themselves? Doubt it. Each one will bring different skills and obviously save a wage of a Chief Executive.

Byebyedundee you seem to have a major problem with Steve Brown, but amazingly love Lomas. What are your views on Del?

I assume the 42% may well be hire than normal as the SFA will have had to hire Celtic Park aswell.

The article in the record more or less said that they would back the manager if and when required but as it stands at the moment you go with what we have.

Strange that the same people that are complaining about Brown not releasing money for players were bemoaning the fact that we had very few young players getting a shot well now these lads are going to have to step up to the mark. It will soon sort the men out from the boys.

Exactly. There's the real person, who's had to read the slagging, who's probably worked 60 hour weeks to make that final happen. Shame on some of you.

Thanks so much for what you're doing, Finola. When you finally stop busting a gut to keep the Saintees happy, you enjoy yer holibags. The backroom staff at McD have been stonkingly brilliant. Every time I phone, we have a right laugh, and the service has been perfect.

We would like you to consider flexi-tickets for next year. Thank you.

We are all making assumptions regarding Liam and Hibs.

Liam may wish to stay and fight to get out of the Championship as captain of Hibs.
He may have clauses in his contract regarding level of remuneration for different divisions or a release if relegated clause.
Hibs could have similar release clauses in place.

The guy burst a gut for Saints right to the end and ensured we were in Europe which was the start of our fantastic year.
He left for Hibs to secure he believed a better future for his family and to play for a better supported team which should have been doing better than fighting relegation.

Whatever the outcome..............good luck Liam,  you will always be remembered as a whole hearted Saintee.

It is an odd scenario this.  Reading through this thread it's almost as if people are looking for excuses not to take him back.  The fact is that he was a GREAT player and character for us, and very influential in getting the club to where it is now in terms of on field success.  He moved on with his head held high for all the right reasons, and it has gone catastrophically wrong for him.

In the interim, we have built probably the most competitive midfield squad in the club's history, with a perfect blend of experience and genuine young talent and potential.  That's the only reason that Liam wouldn't walk back into our team.  Probably any other season that I can remember, I would be champing at the bit to get him back in, but not this season.  That is IN NO WAY a reflection on Liam, but a reflection of us having a settled and effective midfield with competition for places, and at least one youngster who looks like he could be the real deal in Scott Brown.

Genuinely wish the guy all the best.  I think it's shit that he's been told he can leave Hibs - he's exactly the kind of guy they need to mount a challenge next season, and the chances are that he would have taken that challenge on and given 100% as ever to get them promoted again.  The fact that Hibs can't see that in him is reflective of the disease that the club seems to suffer from just now.
