  1. Have to say that Pete was nae worse than many of the clowns that are often on question time. A "Teuchter" is nothing to do wi' how far North you live. It's how little cosmopolitan the area that you live in is. Ie; hinterland, rural etc. Hence ,Perth, fine a city though it is & it truly is, far more sheepyville than Aberdeen. But hey! As long as you look after them tenderly boys. LAUGH OUT LOUD
  2. R.I.P. Wilie. Part of a St. Js defence that were dominant in the Ormond years. Seen him not give guys like Jimmy Johnstone & Willie Henderson, aye! Even Jim Baxter, not a sniff. Ordinary Perth man and a top class defender in a great side.
  3. So very sorry to hear this sad news. Ronnie & Ricky were neighbours of mine when I was a kid, in Perth. Lovely family and Ronnie was a topper.R.I.P.
  4. Only for the sake of balance & oota sheer desperation in the current circumstances, I'd hae tae mention 5 past McDonald twice in the space of 2 months in 1983. Pittodrie on 3rd Sept, Muirton on 5th Nov. Nah, nah nah nah nah!
  5. Hopefully Tommy has seen what a classless shower of minkers the "Matalan Catalans" are in the seriously dubious manner in which they got rid of their utterly useless manager last week. I think that sometimes a manager just fits a club well, Tommy & Saints are in that category. The PJMs are not that much bigger a club really. Not so much as it would make moving that big a deal and it should be a big deal if he's gonna move on.
  6. Well done........again, Saintees. Gutted! Outfought & outthought by the hardest working team in the SPFL, with the best tactical & motivational manager. FFS hope he stays with a club that have oodles of pride & decorum. In 48 years of being a dandy and in the late 60s & early 70s, a dandy living in Perth I reckon that over the piece St Js have always had an evens chance against the Dons and the overall head to head record bears this out . This is once again a fine Saints team but be mindful not to get over carried away, it's a bang average Aberdeen team, not bad but not great as was proved yesterday. MySpazz, love the photie 'o the Perth fairmers molesting oor Dolly.
  7. Oh aye! No less than I would have expected from Saints fans, showing a touch of class in their respect and generous applause for Russell Anderson making his final appearance for the Dons today. Quality.
  8. Enjoy the success, I'm genuinely delighted for the Saints in the circumstances. However, the Dons were comfortably clear in second spot, this clinched 5 weeks back. Of course it'll be great banter for the Saintees winding up dandies that they might work with tommorow but I reckon that oor fans winna be too bothered about this one. DABS oota Europe (again) . Very weakened Dons side with a 16 year old coming on as sub & several youngsters & a boy that's signed for St Js, for goodness sake No Logan, Flood, McLean, Jack, Rooney. We aren't brilliant but the table doesn't lie, I'm sure you'll all agree wi'that tonight. As I said great result for Saints and potentially an even better outcome. Easier to give praise to your own team than to diss the opponents. Best of luck wi' the Euro quest. Real fondness for the Saintees having spent most of the "Ormond years" in Perth. Always happy when they win unless it's against the Dons but a slight exception to that today.
  9. Well done Saintees. Let's hope that ICT do the business next week. Great support up here today, best visiting support at Pittodrie this season by a country mile. Usual poor treatment by the over zealous idiot stewards. Don't let this rest, complain to AFC. Fans need to fight for our rights. Great stuff anyway & hopefully rewarded with a well deserved Euro spot but hey......COYR!
  10. I'd say that Joe Shaugh is a potentially superb signing for the saintees. As a Dons fan, I'd say that he was more than a little unlucky to be let go by DM. I reckon, having watched his development from a youngster, that he is undoubtedly best used in his natural position in the centre of defence. I don't often recall him letting us down in the first team. Does occasionally get turned a bit at right back but hey, so does Shay Logan. Stick my neck out and say that his signing is a real coup for St Johnstone and think he may have many successful years in Perth. Wish him the best of good luck, anyway.
  11. Massive congratulations to all my Perth friends. As explained before, because of my Perth connections & being a diehard Don Saints have always been my second team. Can't believe how much I enjoyed yesterday and tbh I was very emotional, it was that sort of day. I was at Hampden in 1969 & regularly watched that side for around 5 years and they were great. Difficult to compare but a trophy winning side have to be considered Numero uno. This team have what it takes to make it to the level of WINNERS, self belief, calm, composed, work rate, team spirit and a tactically bright manager. I agree with "Montrose" in that this may just be the start. I also, think that this side can achieve even more. Nobody will look forward to playing them. I did say as much on here after the L.C. Semi. Must hae been some day in The Fair City today, hope that the big parade went well. Don't want to intrude further as this is your time REAL Saintees. I hope the support can come out like old times, next season on the back of this great victory and cheer on Perth St Johnstone F.C. Scottish Cup Winners 2014. Well done & awra best.
  12. Thought that the imaginative display was a creative success largely. It probably didn't come off completely but it was a great attempt. Fantasic effort from the Saintees too. Great colour and fantastic work. DABs have some really decent fans and although we all hae oor share 'o fan dancers, they just happen to hae a few more than most.
  13. Come on you Saints! Looking forward to this immensely. Keep cool, calm & collected, St Johnstone and this Scottish Cup is on it's way to Perth. All Saintees have a great day, make lots of noise & hopefully celebrate wildly.
  14. Utterly brilliant. Thing is, the DABS are all illiterate. They'll probably buy them anyway. Look oot for them on cup final day.
  15. RIP, Perth should be proud of the sporting prowess of this young lady. No1 UK Lady tennis player with skills honed in the Fair City. Sadly taken far, far too young by a terrible illness. Thoughts with all of her family.
  16. Pikey free zone, No parking for caravans: There you go, how politically correct is that?
  17. Aberdeen was a nicer/classier City prior to oil. Fairly full emploment in traditional industries and a greater sense of realism. Less fan dancers kicking about. Clean & tidy, countless Britain in Bloom titles. The point that I was making is that everywhere, in this day & age has social problems. I'd say, personally, that Perth has probably slightly less but there is still a few. It'a lovely City though.
  18. Just concentrate on the prize. It beats the ticket hands doon. Having had our team wave the cup, this season, I'll vouch for it beating the ticket. Forget aboot us we're oot, ye beat us deservedly. Put the focus on beating the wee team of wanabees thats in front of you on Cup Final day. Poor fare today from both teams. We're bang out of form and I'd imagine Saints wouldna be too unhappy wi'a point. Farcical goals, shi*e crowd and more atmosphere on the moon.
  19. Lived in Perth in the late sixties early seventies. Loved it then, love it now. Obviously unaware of current social problems etc, now but I'd imagine that society is much the same all over. Aberdeen has massive social deprivation and all the associted problems that go with it. Sometimes hidden by the affluence of the oil industry but this just exacerbates the situation. For all the problems it's still no a bad city though. As a frequent visitor to Perth, I genuinely don't notice much degeneration and enjoy the beauty of the city.
  20. Parking on Alexandra Parade or Duke St was easy on League Cup Final day. Crowd of over 51,000. 15/20 minute walk tops. Letham Saint would do it in 5mins Ha!
  21. Derek Mac has been quality in lifting the whole spirit at Pittodrie. Tommy Wright is a class act. Really don't think any awards should be decided before the end of the season. Aye, after the final match. If it's decided now, I reckon it should be Deek (not that I'm biased.) But hey! This is Scottish footie.
  22. F.A.O. Letham Saintee, 15 mins fae Poynernnook/Palmerston? Ye must be Usain Bolt min, Ha! Actually parking doon there has become impossible. Beach is as good as any for visiting fans, easier tae park yer tractors. Always a bu**er getting out of town though. Hope to see a decent Saints support to back this tremendous run of form. Now.....as for Fu**ing Stevie Fu**ing May, aye! Aright, I think we've got the drift like. Quality striker, hopefully rested on Saturday and primed to score a hat trick on May 17th. Looking forward to a decent match at Pittodrie wi' a win for the Dandies. Still hoping to get doon and cheer the saintees at the final though. COYR.
  23. Countless reasons why people can't always get along to the footie. A cup final, however, is an occasion for everyone that has the club/team in their heart in any way. Everyone gets excited by such a big event and the more the merrier surely. I'd imagine all will be welcome. The bigger the backing the better the chance of the Scottish Cup sitting in the McDiarmid boardroom.
  24. Aye, but remember nae love in's with the "Matalan Catalan's." Remember, Tommy's a good guy and Pep Gladiola is a Chu*t. There is a Cup Final to be won here. FOCUS Saintees.
