HOODLUM65
Football's Lawmakers' are considering changing the duration of play to two 30minute periods. This is an attempt to stop time wasting. Presently the ball is IN play only 60 minutes out of the 90. The clock will be stopped when the ball is out of play and resume when in play again. A stadium clock will be linked to the Ref's watch Also, when a penalty is saved / unsuccessful, play will stop and a goalkick awarded to restart play. Netting the rebound will not be allowed. Free kicks- player can pass to himself or dribble with the ball. Just a few of a raft of changes under consideration. Edstar101
Did you mean 'daft' instead of 'raft' Hate the 30mins thing. Clamping down on time wasting in other ways would be better Actually don't mind the penalty suggestion. Hate the free kick one

HOODLUM65
More of the raft (sorry daft ideas), Watch to be stopped:- A) at penalty award until the kick is being taken. from a goal being scored until the match resumes from the kick off. C) from asking an injured player if he needs treatment to play being restarted. D) from the signal of substitutions to play restarting. E) from Ref. pacing out a free kick until when it is taken. Need an official timekeeper for this. The actual 60 minutes played could result in the game taking 2 hours, by which time you might be served at the refreshment kiosks. But, but, but......how would ref be able to add on extra time when Celtic are 2-1 down in the 60th minute? south inch and Abernethy Saint
south inch
But, but, but......how would ref be able to add on extra time when Celtic are 2-1 down in the 60th minute? According to my learned friend, Hoodlum, a stadium clock will be linked to the ref's watch. I predict, therefore, that said watch will start to give trouble from the 55th minute whilst the ref waits for a Celtic player to fall over somewhere in the vicinity of the penalty box - like the centre circle.
