I also think taking Croft off was the wrong move

Biggest surprise of the game is that Jamie Hamill wasn't booked.

Given that there is much debate over who should play where, what do we think our strongest 11 is. Make your decision as if we lived in a magical land where injuries and suspensions didn't exist.
Mine would be :
Mannus
MacKay-Anderson-Jahic-Easton
Davidson-Millar
Croft Nigel
May-MacLean

My heart sank when Fallon came on today. After the Aberdeen game, I'm afraid seeing him on the pitch again sent a very negative message about the team.

Have said it all season, Cregg needs to play. Him being the anchorman in front of the defence allowed Davidson and MacDonald to push much further forward and (especially in Davidson's case) have a bigger influence in the game when we are attacking and defending goal kicks or punts up the park. Today was the first game this season that Davidson looked like he was last season, his presence and determination really drives the team forward quicker from counter attacks. Ando was back today, sorry, Xavi was back today and was his good old self, spraying passes round for fun and giving saints a confidence that we have been lacking since his injury. The inclusion of Anderson clearly makes Frazer Wright transform into a ball playing centre half. To me Wright is a much better player if he has his trusted accomplice Anderson next to him. Easton is a bear. Gary Miller showed us what he can play like today, maurading forward and helping Edwards down the flank. Paddy Cregg did what we have grown to expect of him, wins the ball, chooses the best pass and gives it to more talented players. McDonald was brilliant, easily the best game (I have seen) He has played this season. Wasnt scared to run with the ball and even had a shot at playing left wing for some part in the game! Edwards has given us glimpses of what he can do in recent games but today he gave the full package, ran with the ball freely and shows a great turn of pace. Stevie May can easily have my children when I grow up.
Next week we shouldn't change the team against in-form Motherwell. Unless we pick(ed) up any injuries. Any one know the latest on Easton?

To me May and Nigel have never actually forged a partnership, they just scored in the same game

Four and half games without a goal and about 6 shots on target is a huge worry.
Every team gives Celtic too much respect.Everyone knows their full backs push up. We should have guys to cover them &get behind them.
Spoony needs rested…He has never had a good game since Europe.

Since it's Christmas/New Year time I thought it would be nice to look back on the achievement that was the Rosenborg match in Perth and pull together this short feature on it. I'll get round to doing a feature on the away leg as well in January time.

Good for him for speaking out about it. Another disorder that has become a label for disruptive kids. The words of a good guy, and a guy with a past that people respect, can go a long way to change the opinions of the general population.
My son and daughter have Asperger's Syndrome, and for a long time that was the label of the odd kid, but the revelations of various high profile and hugely talented and successful people with or believed to have had the disorder have helped dramatically.
Standing up and speaking about it aged 47 takes guts though.

It was unlikely we were going to get back into the game without the sending off, we created one chance all game and it was the only time where Hasselbaink and May linked up well, we were brutal all game and i'm still bemused why we hit hopeless punts up the pitch only weeks after we were playing excellent football on the deck

Definitely Muzz. Thought May worked hard and got no support from either Nigel or the midfield. Scobbie was decent but thought we really missed Easton going forward from left back.

ajs reacted to The ghost of Jim Morton in We Are All Dreaming Of A Team Of Stevie Mays
I would just like to give everyone a quick heads up of an event taking place prior to the Saints v Aberdeen game on Sat 7th December when the kids from the St.Johnstone youth teams will be doing a bucket collection throughout the ground and including the hospitality suites as well as the Muirton suite. All monies raised will go directly towards Saints youth developement.
Youth developement is a vitally important area for Saints both in terms of bringing players through to play for the 1st team and also in terms of future revenue through home grown player sales. At a time where the club is struggling to maintain revenues, youth developement becomes even more crucial. These kids may well not just be the future of our team, they could well be the future of our beloved football club.
It has been well documented lately about the success that Dundee Utd are having and we are trying to put down a good base for Alistair Stevenson to work with. This costs though...
Here are a few facts:
62% of the boys in YD are local.
It costs 6 figures to run YD with a small grant coming from the SFA.
The SFA are looking to reduce funding unless clubs meet certain criteria, this will mean spending money to upgrade facilities.
We are using the strapline" we are all dreaming of a team of Stevie Mays" to highlight what can be achieved through youth devolopement.
We now have an Academy Committee group who are already working hard to raise funds and also the profile of YD. The committee is made up of parents from all levels of YD as well as a few fans ( of which I am one), Steve Brown, Roddy Grant and two others from the club as well as Alistair Stevenson.
This fund raiser will hopefully be the first of many but the bottom line is that anything the committe does needs the full support of the fans to make it work.
This committee is outwith the Barossa Street Saints who already do BRILLIANT work in raising money for YD and who have already contributed a vast sum throught their own fund raising.
The committee is basically being run by the parents of the kids we hope will eventually become the next Stevie Mays,Liam Caddis's or Chris Kanes ......
Most people have a dish in the house ( or car) full of "shrapnel". I know I have about £20 in pennies, tuppenies, fives and ten pence pieces . What would be brilliant would be if as many as possible brought their small change along ( however little) to the game and popped it in to the buckets. Now obviously not everyone can afford to do this but even a quid will help. It all adds up..
Thanks for reading this, thanks for your time and most of all, thanks for your support. Together we can make a difference and perhaps our dreams can come true.
Ghostie. ( on behalf of the St.Johnstone Academy Committee Group)

Sounds familiar!! Saints were really struggling in the mid 1980s, close to folding, and a new chairman came in and rescued the club, not through huge wads of cash, but through brokering a deal with Asda to buy our rotting stadium and build the first all seated stadium in Scotland. It have Saints the opportunity to start afresh and unlocked opportunities to bring in income outwith match day gate receipts - conference facilities, restaurant, a great all weather pitch, occasional music concerts etc, all without haemorrhaging cash on loan payments or debt interest.
So despite our limited support base, we remain a generally profitable operation and carry no debt - a rare thing in Scotland.
I have a lot of respect for club chairmen who can see this is the way to run a club.
That said, and with all due respect to your apparently very well run club, Stevie May is a class above your team's level on the pitch in my opinion.
