angus-saint253 got a reaction from cristo in Partick Thistle V St Johnstone Saturday 14/12/13
To be honest, I wasn't expecting anything back when the game was abandoned. Rightly or WRONGLY, fans aren't entitled to anything if the game makes half time and if I'd been given a voucher which stated '£12 entry' at the time I'd still have been pleasantly surprised.
If the game had been in Perth there's absolutely no way travelling fans would have been allowed into the replay for free and as such I think its unrealistic (and unfair) to expect Thistle to indulge us.
Like the suggestion about the SFA absorbing operating costs for replayed fixtures in order to let supporters in for free - they're certainly in a better position to do so than the clubs and would be a terrific gesture.

Exactly - if the abandonment of a game is outwith the control of the club (freak weather, serious injury or illness etc) I believe that the SPFL should be helping with the cost of the rearranged fixture overheads. £8,000 is pennies on the SPFL scale, but a wad of cash to the wee clubs. Without fans, the game is useless.
Given that the rearranged fixture will almost always be midweek, why not offer it to BBC Alba to show live, and cover the cost that way?

Road tripping this one - they'll be buoyant after winning the H derby but still think it's as good a chance as any to get the away form back on track.

Just don't get on the wrong side of the Hospitality Pack!

Take a softer, more relaxed approach to managing a crowd and it usually will work better than a heavy-handed method which antagonises everyone and sets the tone for the rest of the match.
Unfortunately, I thought they tried that at Tannadice last time but one or two of our more silly guys saw them revert to type pretty quickly. Not sure who acted first.
Everybody requires to be reasonable for it to work. I'm all for Dylan and the young lads, as long as they comply with anything the club asks.
As for hospitality, it is clear that it is potentially unsafe for me to take my son there and that is a sad reflection on some of those who frequent that area.
Grown men who ought to know better need to take a look at themselves. Either that or lay off the drink if they can't exercise self-control (or have pent-up aggression, perhaps because they're henpecked).
This reflects badly on St Johnstone - more than any of the antics of the young crew, be it pyro, flags or songs.
It actually can't help the club sell hospitality if the experience is soured by a handful of idiots.

Lets get the tickets on sale and see what we sell, then worry about how much more we need.
If 3500 tickets are available that just now is roughly 1000 more than bothers to turn up for our home league games on a regular basis.
Agree get the vouchers out for the next 5 home games, tickets go to voucher holders in a decending order.
if a Dons fan is prepared to go to 3 or 4 saints matches to get enough vouchers for a ticket, then they would have seen saints more than many of the so called saints fans who would need to go to get us 3500.

The St. Johnstone fan base make me piss my frillies.
"There's no atmosphere"
"Aw, they young team are a noisy pain in the arse"
"We need more fans"
"Fans like you are not welcome at McDiarmid"
Etc Etc Etc.
Just go to the game, support Saints and worry less about what others are doing and you'll enjoy the game and your day out much more.

THE worst thread in WAP history.
We have a worrying away record to discuss and people want to talk balls about a broken seat.
Football is a sport for everyone, nutters, jakies, junkies, toffs, millionaires, women, kids, spotty teenagers, anoraks..... Stop telling people how to support Saints, and just be grateful that we attract fans from all sorts of background.
It would be pretty boring if McDiarmid was full of middle class numpties in tweed suits and deerstalkers all sitting with tartan rugs over their knees moaning that the board should be spending money on heated seats rather than winning a trophy.
Leave the police and stewards to deal with our supporters, they get paid enough to do so, and stop trying to keyboard bully guys half of your age who are being at most mischievous teenagers.

That isn't helpful, or remotely hard.
The general gist of this thread and others is that you guys are great and have added something to the support. It's clear how much the players appreciate it because they celebrate in front if you whenever they can.
All folks are saying is don't cross the line between being a bit daft at times and bringing the club into disrepute. We don't play in Turkey/Italy/Holland, we play in Scotland. Let the old firm be branded as scum on their own over here, it's not clever.

This type of stat is fantastic and a reflection on the whole team rather than just those getting the final touch. I've no doubt Maclean would feature on the same list if he hadn't missed the last few games

Agree
Would also add that his passion and commitment to the club is displayed in his desire to celebrate every goal (even the ones he's not scored) with the fans. The ones that particularly stick in my mind are 2-1 v Dunfermline and making it 2-1 in the 3-2 win over Hibs last year.

First of all, I can assure you all that Brechiner isn't 'ss'. His mate is my old man and me and a few others were also with them at the game.
I agree that a lot of the singing isn't exactly fit for the dinner table, but for me it all comes under banter.
I'm sure there are a few idiots who'll insist on continuing the charade after the full time whistle, but for the majority it's all a laugh and it contributes to the match day experience.
I love derby days and wouldn't change them at all. Particularly at a club like ours where atmosphere's are often dilute (shite), its great to have a fixture where everyone make's a point of making a bit of noise.
While a lot of the song's are aimed at rival fans, most are about getting behind the team and for me they all add up to a good away day.
They call us farmers - we say they don't wash. All's fair in love and war.
Everyone's entitled to an opinion (some would do well to remember this) and I appreciate it may not have been the most enjoyable environment for a neutral.
Personally however, I can't wait to get back there and beat them again next year.
Hope you can join us for a match again soon Brechiner (maybe Killie away - pretty sure singing's banned down there)
