Well if their performance evaluation and ambition are hand in hand then it is a shame they have been dropped. I always strive for my staff to keep going for continuous improvement. Nothing worse than an ill performing, stagnant employee who thinks they are "owed" a job. They deserve nothing in my book.

I totally agree, I did a disciplinary yesterday, for much the same reason, and its only going to get worse.

Sorry Mogs, why did it even get to a disiplinary stage, if the person was so bad it should and could have been sorted out before this, the person should have been performance managed with a Union Rep involved in every stage and if the person was not up to the Job would have been managed out of the business, Lazy management, Union Officials are there to help as well.

When it comes to who's wrong or right, there will never be an answer, that why arguing about it never gets anywhere and becomes monotonous...we just get on and deal with it any way we can.. :-)

As was I , I have been SS both on the shop floor, and in Management and at moment negotiating with Premier Foods whilst they close down Bakeries in Birmingham,Greenford,Eastleigh, We have put forward detailed propositions to avert closure, but Premier wont budge even though they know they are wrong, and using outdated data, so didnt do me any good either, but the difference is I will keep fighting and wont give up, there are 900 jobs going to be lost, and lives ruined.

As for your Dad ask him if he would have done anything different

Best to turn this building into luxury flats.

Yeah man, when I think of things Perth needs more of, "Luxury flats for Hydro employees and the aircraft engineering sons of wealthy Arabs" is right behind "Hairdressers" and "Sandwich shops".

Nothing worse than an ill performing, stagnant employee who thinks they are "owed" a job.

Sure there is.

Some self interested windbag profiting off the labours of others and getting all humpty when they don't cheerfully and freely endeavour to stuff his pockets with even more unearned profit.

That's pretty much the worst.

What about a very large Chippy then.

Oh no, I can see from your posts you already have an abundance of CHIPS on both shoulders.

How much do you think hydro employees get paid if you're mentioning them in the same sentence as wealth aArabs?

Point out, if you will, the part where I say they earn the same. They merely live in the same lots of cookie-cutter flats around Vasart, Simpson Square, Tulloch Hill, Florence Court et cetera.

So I started a business, it becomes successful so I employ people so therefore I am a scrounging basted?

Why do you employ these people? Is it because you're a big hearted chap and want to improve their lot in life? Because you genuinely feel the expansion of your business will be for the common good?

No.

It's because they'll help you make more money for your self and your self alone.. You will take their labour, and give them, quite deliberately, incomplete recompense for this. It's scrounging, and the "job creators" rhetoric that seems to be coming to the fore of political discourse nowadays is absolute claptrap.
