A good win, and a deserved one too.

We were much better with Sheerin on the pitch, he should have started instead of Quinn- who had another stinker.

Milne missed two absolute sitters before we eventually scored- Craig scored a thunderbolt which would have went right through Halliwell if it had hit his body rather than his arm.

Grady was at his best, doing absolutely fk all, moaning at the ref and missed a sitter himself.

Hamilton played their old trick of timewasting whenever they went in front, of course when we started that the ref was hurrying us on and added around 6 minutes when neither physio had been on the pitch.

Mensing was raging when we went 2-1 up, nice one Simon.

Saints just about shaded this one over the piece I thought. We were probably just about ahead in terms of chances and possesion, with Macdonald missing a great chance and Weatherston having a tap in taken off his toes. Then Gilhaney popped up with a really good strike, bending it in to the top corner.

Accies pretty much started time wasting, with the left back particularly bad for it in the early part of the second half.

After having a couple of chances - in particular one where Halliwell was left in no mans land and the ball was scrambled out for a corner - Saints looked like they were running out of ideas. Then Sheerin (i think) found Craig in miles of space on the left hand side of Accie's box, and he smashed in a superb volley that Halliwell just about got an arm to.

Seconds after the restart a big punt forward put Jackson in, but he was adjudged offside - a very very tight call.

Four minutes later we went ahead. Ball to the back post found Macdonald, and Halliwell got himself completely lost. Macdonald's lob went over Halliwell's head and one of his defenders, and dropped about half a yard over the line. Linesman spotted it and gave the goal.

Accies had a good chance to equalise right at the death, but Grady couldn't get a shot away.

Tough game. Let's have a go and beat them and see what they do down at QOS in their next game. It could then be down to 7 points with a bit luck. Keep the Faith.

PART 1: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

They play Livi at home then QOS away. Come on QOS! We have to beat Morton and Dundee away, both cup finals.

I thought the team that finished today was near the strongest side Saints have with James/McCaffrey able to play along side Anderson. 5 bookings for saints which seemed a bit OTT. The better team won in the end. There is still hope.
