  1. Interesting that they are now being pursued by the SPFL for the £250,000 fine for the EBT's ,but say that bill was incurred by the oldco which doesn't exist. Good news for the Arabs who were trying to argue exactly the same when hit with a fee for Charlie Telfer. Surely they can't have it both ways.....Oh No..Wait...They are the mighty The and they can do anything they like!!
  2. It was certainly worth a booking but even if the ref had sent him off, would it not have resulted in a one match ban? Why is it two when done retrospectively? Had Sportscene not highlighted the tackle ,I very much doubt that Crofty would have been cited!
  3. Whether Guidetti dived or slipped is open to question....But the fact remains that he is guilty of cheating! If he slipped then he knows the ref has made a mistake and should have attempted to correct him. He didn't, instead he took the penalty! I know players don't often attempt to persuade a ref that it wasn't a foul by the other side or whatever but isn't it impressive when they do ( Paulo de Canio comes to mind ). Had Guidetti at least made an effort to tell Collum that there was no offence...we would applaud his honesty...the result of the game would not have been altered...As it is, same old tic always moaning and cheating, therefore the Compliance Officer should take action.
  4. Soupy...Geneva is about 3 hours by train from Lucerne. Some direct trains but not cheap.. Check SBB website.
  5. Impossible and invidious to select one man over the rest in a team that played their hearts out. All brilliant. All were my man of the match. And most of them will be with us next season!! Superb !!
  6. What a fantastic day out yesterday and an awesome parade round Perth today. Have to say the the utd fans we met in the auctioneers and on the way to the ground and afterwards on the way back to the station and in the bars were brilliant. Friendly and congratulatory! Thanks to everyone from the Legends in blue to Tommy and of course Geoff and Steve Brown without whom etc. etc. Europe to look forward to now ( any chance of Eses again ) Come on UEFA you know it makes sense.
  7. Superb performance from a team who could have let their heads go down after losing an early goal, but who fought back brilliantly! 2 great goals and a solid showing in midfield meant that the strugglers in Ando and liam were not really causing a problem and neither of them hid, despite not playing particularly well by their standards. Stand-outs for me were Tade, Vine, Pawlett, Dave and Midge and Mannus making that all important last minute save denied the draw that seemed to be expected!! A penalty claim for each side balanced out although no doubt we'll never hear the end of the Celtic one!!
  8. Superb stuff from almost everyone but Tade was a shade ahead ..hard working and skilfull and a terrific goal. Realistically though could have opted for several players Dave..Vine..Pawlett all caught the eye!!
  9. We were awful against Aberdeen but Steve turned it round and we were pretty impressive against Hibs ,particularly in the first half only going in one down to a very lucky goal against the run of play. Admittedly that knocked the confidence out of what must be a somewhat nervous side. I have been impressed with his signings so far with Tade and Vine and Hasselbaink in particular looking the part. Once all are fully fit and Beattie joins the fray , I think we will be fine. Now is not the time to panic! If things haven't improved by the end of October once the first run of games is over ,then it may be time to be thinking of a change but until such time I think Steve deserves our backing.
  10. I simply cannot believe the breathtaking arrogance that sees them talking of spending handsomel on a european tour and on new signings (Gattuso apparently) when there are small businesses (paper and flower shops amonst others) who may go under because they haven't paid their bills! Surely if the money for tours and transfers is there then it must be put into the pot for the creditors! I am obviously exremely naive to think that the existing creditors must come first!!
  11. According to today's Courier P.C Nat king goals has just signed for Scone Thistle. I'd love to have seen him back with us before he got too old. I assume he is too old for us! Great player!
  12. Personally hoping for Servette. Sleasyjet to Geneve and a couple of nights with friends in Trois Torrents. Having said that anywhere that is fairly practical to get to would be good. Don't fancy having to get a week off work to spend 3 days on a train/bus/camel or whatever!
  13. 1.Yes 2.Possibly 3.Yes ....Alba delayed transmission. K.O.5.30
  14. Sadly but no real surprise to hear that no decision has been made and the meeting has been adjourned to the end of the month, Is it cynical to suspect that they will have re applied to join the SPL before a decision has been taken on sanctions thus conveniently by passing those sanctions?
  15. Dunfermline up to and including end of next week, thereafter Ross co but not sure when the swap over comes. Theoretically could of coursestill be hibs on the way out!
  16. Percy has written an excellent letter and I for one hope that the SPL chairmen are brave enough to go with integrity rather than finance. I know John Yorkston of Dunfermline plans to vote for relegation to Div 3. I accept the arguments about the potential loss to the other clubs of revenue from Rangers fans not being forthcoming and the potential loss of the Sky money but the vast majority of that goes to the O.F anyway! Has it been firmly established that Sky would in fact pull the plug? Outweighing all that for me is the sporting integrity argument where no one club should be able to dictate how the league is run especially given the damage they have caused to local businesses and of course their total lack of regard for the rules ( particularly with regard to the HMRC ) In our particular case perhaps having another local derby if Dundee came up would outweigh the loss of Rangers income after all, even when they do come, McDiarmid is still not Full to capacity! All in all I hope the Chairmen vote to take the hit and let's send out a message to Clubs everywhere that here in Scotland we will not put up with cheating!
  17. It would be interesting to see if any of the glory hunters might actually turn out to support their home town clubs if there was no alternative! Might not be all bad....crowds might increase a bit at clubs like ours. Positive thinking.
  18. I've always understood that St.Mirren was the patron Saint of hopeless causes!
  19. It's clearly alright for us to be messed about as long as the O.F fans are not inconvenienced. Actually I assume it's done to get rid of them as quickly as possible!
  20. During an interview Jimi Hendrix was asked what it was like to be the world's best guitarist, he replied "I don't know ,you'd better ask Rory Gallagher" I rest my case!
  21. This is a great idea ,although due to prior plans, canny go but certain to be a good night. Bruce is a big Saints fan and a very funny man, he also runs the comedy club at the County Hotel on the first friday of the month.
