HonFencealone reacted to Dave Ferg in Chris "midgey" Millar - An Appreciation
Immense on Saturday, never seen him play a better game for Saints. Still heard a couple of tubes trying to give him a hard time at the start of the game but he brilliantly shut them up.
Had the pleasure of speaking to him at the Hall of Fame Dinner and he is an absolute credit to Saints.
Really glad his boy-band career failed!

The current bun reckons he got the McDonald 'goal' wrong too. So maybe a couple of journo's don't think we are all that bad.

Yeah its incredibly hard to actually pick our 11 best players, but sometimes this season I think thats what Tommys trying to do. Pick the 11 best and play them in their favourite position. Which is probably the correct idea, but it leaves us looking a bit disjointed. We should really start playing the players who work best together in a formation that supports them.
Wotherspoon is harsh to leave out, and I don't expect him to be dropped. But he doesn't offer all that much going forward and having the directness of May and Hasselbaink on each wing would force the full backs back and allow our two full backs to exploit space that may be left. While he is probably the best fit for the role in the "hole", Muzz's aerial ability would win it for me.
Cregg and McDonald are the two best sitting players as they have every attribute between each other, Millar performs well but too often takes an unnecessary risk and is another player I think is trying too hard to be something he's not.

Now this should be fun.
Here's my take
Millar - absolutely outstanding from start to finish. Destroyed any creativity from Inverness, and was a constant threat with through balls and bursts forward. Covered every blade of grass.
MacLean - work rate was sensational, two good goals, referee was so biased against him it was unreal, and would get my vote if it wasn't for Millar, a couple of red mist moments, and:
Stevie May. Great goal and three assists, a key role in all four goals - three were things of absolute beauty to behold, and one was purely down to his persistence and strength. That performance should earn him a start for Scotland u-21s.
Take a bow Stevie May!

Nice wee story/moment as a one-off, but now the copycats will start and it'll stop being as 'cute'

Most players wouldn't be worth the effort, but Brittain is so utterly devoid of brain that goading WILL wind him up and he is likely to get sent off, which would be utterly hilarious.
