Phil
Watched it on the bbc with the caption... "St Johnstone strike late in the game to claim a narrow Scottish Premier League win over Hearts at McDiarmid Park." What?
will_dewar
Aye late in the 49th minute........ Dozy gits:D
tony_polster
Watched it on the bbc with the caption... "St Johnstone strike late in the game to claim a narrow Scottish Premier League win over Hearts at McDiarmid Park." What? I saw this too. There really are some lazy gits in the media. Slightly different, but when watching Sportscene last night did anyone else notice that when Killie scored the score at the top became "Kil 3 - Utd 4" and stayed that way till United equlaised? Some cracking goals in that game, and a soft pen!
cockneysaintee
Can't remember exactly, but I think it was the BBC interactive, they described it as a cross by Morais, and header by Deuchar, I thought I was losing it, or going blind. OldPoster
yeah BBC messed up big style, Last min goal and a header at the back post for king kenny, I'm sure if i pay my tv license for someone to watch a game that they can at least get something correct
garydavidson
Have you not learnt yet that the BBC is the worst sports resource in the world? Still not bothered to do a match report for our last cup victory!
CynicalSaintee
The Beeb are pish at Scottish football coverage. They get lower league match reports from the teams' sites and make up the rest, it would seem.
CynicalSaintee
Actually, I remember one occasion when I was reading teletext match reports on the SPL, and after the 2-2 vs Hearts, teletext had the final result as 1-2 and had actually written the match report to say that "Hearts hung on to claim their first SPL win of the season"! Mike180279
McDonald Scored a double at Tannadice too
Saint Stevo
McDonald Scored a double at Tannadice too I saw that in the paper. I was starting to think I was losing it - could have sworn I was cheering on Mooner's finish while flicking some v's and shouting a vast array of expletives to the arabs. Jamie_Beatson
I actually thought it was Macdonald who scored the equaliser at Tannadice as well until the following morning when I saw a picture of Mooner wheeling away after scoring! To be fair, it was a finish Peaso would have been proud of. Neat and darting into the far corner.
garydavidson
One paper I read had McDonald down in the scorer section with a double bu the actual match report they printed said moon scored it. So someone got the scorer wrong and hence why sky sports news, and most other media outlets, had it wrong.
The Inspiration
One paper I read had McDonald down in the scorer section with a double bu the actual match report they printed said moon scored it. So someone got the scorer wrong and hence why sky sports news, and most other media outlets, had it wrong. It was exactly the same on BBC. And noone could decide whether it was Ando or Grainger that deflected their 3rd in. Match reports saying Grainger and scorers lists saying "Anderson (og)"

BAM
The reason a mistake such as the Mooner one happens is because score updates, crowds, bookings and sendings off are all collected by the Press Association who have a reporter at each and every game. They phone the detail in as and when it happens and the Press Association then distribute it to all the media sources, such as Sky, BBC and the written press. So if the one person miss-identifies a player than all the media will have it wrong in their results sections.

SprinterZ
On GMTV this morning Kelly (nee Dalglish) was discussing the Gers v Saints and during the whole thing didn't mention St Johnstone by name once. It was all Rangers and then she said both teams managed to play well in difficult conditions!!
saintj
The bbc is still giving the third goal to the united player! the shot was going to be on target so why would it be an og?
