Dr Christmas Jones
Its the "raise the profile of the site" bit that I am struggling with. Like I said, WEIRD.How many people would ask you what it was for if you had the tshirt on.X's that by how many other people would buy it.I would say we are a weird animal in general. mysaint
ont ken if 101 is a d*** or even has one but sounds as if he is trying to promote and advertise ....maybe there are others out there that have suggestions for other shirts that would do the same. Good for you 101, you can have a laugh at yourself ,and everyone loves a d*** every now and then!
101 Saint
Hats off to the youngster that came up to me and said, "I like your t-shirt, man. It's so true...." Given how much Del and Smithy fecked up, his irony meter must have went off the scale.
EastinWest
Thanks for the youngster bit, but I'm 31. Also happen to be a supporter of a young manager who is not frightened to experiment and learn (would you rather Gus or Billy and the backs to the wall) has got us into a national semi-final, all but clear of relegation, plaudits from most of the media and contention for a top 6 place. All this with a squad featuring a lot of players playing SPL football for the first time and an injury list whch has seen do without Samuel, Jackson, McCaffrey, Rusty, MacDonald, Milne, Hardie and to a lesser extent Moon for most of the season. For my money the Coyle/McIness years have been the best fun since the great late 90's days and I'm all up for a few f.cks ups if we get a few 5-1's along the way as well. I generally find your post funny and even occassionally well informed (bar the nonsense about Swankie being anything but a waste of space in an SPL squad) but my opinion of you has gone down. For a man so confident of your opinion online, surely you aren't scared to discuss things face to face? Only joking, fair play on the t-shirt, made me laugh after a duff game. I would rather Gus, he's going to a cup final and his team are secure in the bottom of the league despite his directors upsetting his players. Billy would be no great improvement and is embarassing when interviewed.
Jamie_Beatson
I would rather Gus, he's going to a cup final and his team are secure in the bottom of the league despite his directors upsetting his players. And despite Gus upsetting most St Mirren fans with his eye-wateringly dull style of play? And what nonsense about them being secure - they are four points ahead of Falkirk, but have played one game more. From what I've seen this season, I actually think Falkirk are a better side than St Mirren.

Jamie_Beatson
And yet they scored three goals in their last game against a team just behind them in the league - something St Mirren can only dream about under Gus. I won't take that bet, because it is far too tight to call. All I'm saying is that St Mirren aren't safe by a long, long way and it would not be unsurprising at all if they went down. Aye but Gus went to a mid-table first division club and has taken them to SPL safety and they're off to Hampden this weekend. Craig Brown - a man I requested and most laughed at me - took Gannon's great team from 6th or 7th to fourth. Both are great bits of work, but Gus has proven himself on numerous occasions in the SPL. Del took a SFL1 contending side, spent loads of money and now has a top six SPL side. Unfortunately, we won't finish top six thanks to his many mistakes. Aberdeen away being a prime example of stupid tactics costing us three points against a direct rival of lower quality. I'll take Gus, I'll take Craig, you keep Del! EastinWest
Ingenious stuff, but Brown took McGhee's team, who did pretty well if I remember, and gave them back the belief that a poor manager had taken from them. They were and remain a good, established SPL team, they just lost their way for a while. Despite all the claims we have a great squad, there are plenty of players in the Well team who are superior to what we have right now. O'Brien or Morais anyone? Gus McPherson has managed on a fear principle: fear of losing. I'm a fan who prefers excitement over league positions and would rather my team went out to try and win rather than attempt to choke the life out of each game a la Gus and Billy. Those Bobby Williamson clones are a bane on this league and I would have them nowhere near my team and I suspect Mr 101 is nowt more than a stirrer to suggest otherwise. His reaction to the semi-final defeat when he went a tad apoplectic about the defensive football would back me up. No? I am all for my team trying to play football and the manager experimenting with the formation and getting the occassional bad result rather than battening down the hatches and hoping to scrape a 1-0 week in, week out. If it turns out we play our way back to the SFL, I don't really care, we're still Saints fans and we'll still be at the ground each week. EastinWest
Sadly I am serious. Aware that it's not a common viewpoint and also more than aware of the flaws but for me I'm happy for my team to try and play football at the level it can play at. By that I mean I'd rather be back in Division 1 finishing second to Gretna or watching Hardie smash and grab the 3 points at Broadwood again rather than clinging on for SPL survival like St Mirren or Hamilton. Obviously 101 believes we are playing below our level because of the manager. I disagree. I just won't go on and on and on about because I know the difference between fact and observation. We are St Johnstone, we'll be back down there one day, and then we'll be back up, that's the way it goes and I'm not going to get so het up about it all. Calypso Kid
I think 101 is right to have an ambitious opinion of the payers. It fits into the spectrum of opinion and offsets some of the belief within the support that our team is made up of duffers. I think we sit somewhere in between both of these polarised views. Shirts are available in blue or white with opposing lettering. Hopefully folk take this in good spirit and rip the tin dish oot o me at the same time as promoting this website/fanzine. Saints will benefit from the cash. Shirts can be ordered by emailing sales@sprinterz.co.uk stating; shirt colour, size and number of shirts. Please note that I will make no financial gain from this venture and I am in no way linked to http://www.sprinterz.co.uk. This is simply a laugh and hopefully a chance to increase the profile of the fanzine. great idea dude.respect. what about a t shirt with your coupon on it saying SPAZZ with an arrow pointing to yer fizzog.it might sell millions then again at least i want to register my interest.
