Kinnoull Kicker got a reaction from sixties saintee in Semi Final Nostalgia
Freddie was one of these guys you either loved or slated - so blooming lazy at times but when he was on his game there was nobody better at beating his man and landing the ball on a sixpence. With a few workhorses in midfield a la Davidson he would sure be a certain slot in today's team !

Fair statement from SB and guess / hope his comments to SPFL are more pointed.
surely to God before a decision is made on the suitability of a neutral venue the key aspects are likely spectator numbers from the respective participants, security and segregation requirements and then whether the stadium can accommodate the numbers after security and segregation requirements are taken into account. It ain't rocket science and based on what we now know Tynecastle is not deemed to be a suitable venue if access and egress of supporters sharing a particular stand is an issue. in other words this game should have been played at one of the three big Glasgow grounds. Interesting though that access / egress and security is at McDiarmid is never deemed to be a problem when part of the west stand is generally given over to away support. - so someone needs to clear up what the specific security requirements are for all grounds Will be interesting to see what the attendance is but I guess it will be a couple of thousand less than capacity leaving an even greater sour taste for those saints fans that have been denied the opportunity to attend and lost revenue for the club. As SB says a total fiasco.

Journeyman fullback Ryan McGowan sold to a Chinese outfit for £300k as part of Dundee Uniteds prep for five a side footie next season. perhaps this will assist Warburton in his analysis on MHO's value - let me help him - triple McGowan fee plus add ons and Broonie might just show some interest.

You're right but he was fired and replaced by Phelan

Irish guy Terry Phelan ( played for Wimbledon and Man City) manages Kerela - could be a link with TW.

Kinnoull Kicker got a reaction from Kilgour in Saints v Killie. Scottish Cup 4th round
Players at all club lose form now and again and with that a degree of confidence. That can be forgiven. Managers sometimes make bizarre positional choices and substitutions. That can be forgiven. What really bothers me is that we are compulsive slow starters - even during our good spell how often were we slow out of the blocks and chasing games? Think this is something that needs addressing pdq. don't have an answer but could be something to do with warm up and TW,s instructions but whatever they all need rockets up their arse and get wired in from kick off.

Just returned home from Les's funeral. Entered to "oh when the saints" and left to a great Slade number! Superb review of Les's life and wee tales that brought a few smiles ! Blue and white scarves in abundance to mark the occasion. Well done to Janey for giving Les a wonderful send off.

I played football against this lad a couple of times in the 80's, fine determined player, and total gentleman. Condolences to his family at this time. RIP

Very sad news. Les passed away this afternoon at Ninewells Hospital after a period of illness that he was unable to overcome. Many on WAP will know Les and if you wish to post your thoughts please do. I have spoken with Janie, Les's wife, and I know she will take comfort from any thoughts / messages posted.
Les was a grand neighbour and friend and we enjoyed many a laugh and chat about his beloved Saints. He so enjoyed his European adventures and made great friends in Eskisihir - indeed he had visited a few times since our games with them and organised and hosted a visit of his Turkish friends and friends of Saints during which visit they were guests of Saints at a game against Hamilton. RIP Les.

Many thanks guys for posting your thoughts and memories.
There is an intimation ( which strikes the mark just perfectly) in today's Courier that confirms the funeral will take place at the Crematorium next Monday Dec 14th at 1400.

Really sad news. What a left back - remember him giving Willie Henderson and Jimmy Johnstone a real hard time - whilst also kicking lumps out of them. fantastic club servant.
