In the past yes, but Catalunya and the Basques are so anti-Spain just now, amd the government are trying so hard to rectify that, that on the back of the world cup win, when everybody was suddenly Spanish again, a high profile international game might be just the thing. It's been seriously spoken about,even before the world cup. The 2009 cup final, between Barcelona and Athletic club Bilbao, was an embarrasment, everyone refusing to respect the national anthem and the king was there waiting to present the cup. I can't speak for the Basques, but the Catalans are quite pathetic, want to live alone but be able to run home to mum n dad for dinner and to get the washing done.
