Some people may have different priorities for their cash at this time of year. Other peoples financial decisions are none of your business and telling people to be ashamed of themselves is out of order.

This is great, even with May cash! Why are so many Saints fans so openly ready to put a downer on good news? Yes we sold a player to get a profit, but is that not part and parcel of running a Club?
Many other teams fans would love to have achieved what we have both on and off the park
Can we not just enjoy the good times while we have them?
Or is that to much to ask

I understand where Random Guy is coming from, I was raging after the first game against hearts 4-3 thinking, here we f***ing go again, last seasons frustrations all over again, but, as the weeks / months have gone on the difference for me this season is, there's a quiet confidence about the team / club / support, that if we go a goal down or a team comes back at us that we will score again and go on and win. THAT just wasn't there last season. I would be panicked if we weren't scoring so freely from positions and players all over the pitch. It gives teams nightmares, who the hell do they mark, and cover runs from.
    Great days.

One of my favourite players at the time, Then also a great referee when he took up that mantle, Also I think his two grandsons during the half time shootout got one of the biggest cheers I have heard when asked who their favourite saints player was, we were in the time when every one was asked  went Steve May these two went Willie Coburn and the whole stadium cheered. Says it all . RIP Willie.

loved watching him when I was nipper- he was a rock at the back with Buck McCarrie et al during the early seventies
I will be raising a glass to him and the others connected with the club who have sadly passed this past week

It's the Barcelona style of football, They play with the knowledge that they only have to score one more than the opposition does.
Not suggesting for a moment that we are at that standard, but its the ethos they play by, and it seams to have done them no harm at all.
In all seriousness we have a +9 goal difference. Other than the 2 Scumdee teams and Killie we have the heaviest goals against in the league, however, only Celtic have scored more than us, surely that has to be a positive. If we weren't scoring freely as we are, undoubtedly this would be an issue.
If we continue playing in the same vein as we are I'll still be happy at the end of the season, as I'm sure you and all the other supporters will be.
    Stroll on Sainties !!

Random go and chill for a wee while and get yourself a wee dram.
We won we have now gone 7 games with 7 wins away form home. Lets just leave the analysis and the worrying to the manager and the coaches as that is really what they get paid for. And to be honest if we win every game 3-2 that will do me.

I'm not sure if you were at the game today or not but from the minute we went a goal up we sat in, When the back line is soaking up that much pressure they're going to concede. We were very lucky to get our goals today so to have a go at the back line is a little bit unnecessary.

Bumping this thread again - think it makes great reading, just to highlight that whenever fans have thought we're doing badly, Tommy Wright has consistently shown the ability to turn us round and make us even better than we were before. The progress that's been made under him is incredible. I hope he never leaves.

Today was the first game I have attended in a while as my own football was cancelled. Not the greatest in terms of quality but a thoroughly entertaining game.

I can understand the point you make about MOH, however in the first half he put two outstanding balls across the 6 yard box having beat his man and each there was no one gambling on the ball going there - Wotherspoon and MacLean the guilty parties I think. Thereafter I agree he tended to hit the byline and make unsuccessful attempt to dribble into the box but I don't understand with the consistency he beats his man why others aren't automatically getting in the 6 yard box on such occasions.

Also agree about Kane a much improved display compared to what I witness in the past - it's a shame Caddis doesn't seem to be following suit.
Nonsense. You can't play gung-ho football for 90 mins. I think we have great balance throughout our team - wingers who can run and break at the opposition, centre forwards who can bully defenders and link play, a centre mid in Muzz who covesr a lot of ground a wins the ball back in areas he has no right to do so. Millar continues to control games in the middle of the park attempting to dictate the pace of the play and supply others - do the basics for those around him. I actually don't think he had his best game, understandably having not played for so long. In the last 10 mins were crying out for composure, struggling to keep the ball; instead trying to beat our men or play the long ball to Sutton (who I've not been impressed with whenever I've seen him in a saints shirt) - Millar looked the only one in our team who had the composure to slow the play down and keep the ball at that time.

Macca had a great game some of his vision to see and set up a pass is just a delight to watch.
Even missing that penalty did not affect his game.
We were well worth the win.

Yogi went into the Saints dressing room to apologise and the chairman has been in touch with ours to again apologise, that to me speaks volumes about the way the club is run and I can't see many other clubs having done this.

Still have more love for the current side, and think that as a whole they are a better 'team'.

It's sad to see that this topic has raised the hackles of so many and has now sunk to people bickering with each other and generalisations being made about supporters of different football clubs. Time to draw a line under the name calling and fighting please.

I respect the views of people who may not wish to use a sporting event to pay tribute to our past and present members of the armed forces and also those people touched in any way by armed conflicts around the world, but I for one would pay tribute to my club for the manner in which the event was organised and conducted, and to the fans of both clubs for the respect shown. I for one am glad it took place and I am glad I was there to proudly wear my poppy. Please respect that.

I wont argue about the whys and wherefores of conscription with you as you have taken a wee while with your comeback and have probably been doing a wee bit of due diligence .!   I personally think the ceremony went down well with the Saints fans and encompasses the community focus that Saints are all about.!As to what people were thinking during the minutes silence.! South Inch sums it up for me and no doubt many others who were remembering family members lost to War.!

Im sure if you do a bit of diligent research you will find that the willing "Volunteers" vastly outnumbered the "Conscripts" who deservedly should be remembered as they never had any choice in the matter.! as should be the ones who stood up to their superior officers during WW1 and told them to GTF.! and were summarily executed for having the balls to rebel.! All should be remembered.! Thats what rememberance day is for.!....My opinion on " War" might not be too far away from yours..!.........https://youtu.be/UyiLfSHSqds

don't understand the animosity towards Pat Nevin to be honest.  He's not great but I think him and Michael Stewart are about as good as we've got in Scotland in terms of being able to construct sentences reasonably well, and not being old firm obsessed.

As someone stated elsewhere our next 3 games are Killie, United and Dundee and I cannot see any reason why we should not be looking to take 9/9 from them.

Then though , I look back to Partick at home and realise that nothing is straight forward  with our team, especially when it comes to games we might class as easier. All that said though, I really believe that with more hard work, grit and determination, this team can deliver even more than the teams of the last two seasons  and that SECOND place  (which would be our highest ever league finish) is  a possibility. For us to do that though, we really need to  be constantly at the top of our game and  we cannot  let our guard slip at any time.

Selection wise, TW will have some tough decisions to make  but that is something he has dealt with quite well in his time with us.  Lets hope that this time next week we are a wee bit closer to the three sides above us.
