Does Steve Brown still (as always) have an eye on his own means of escape from his position, and money in the bank will surely make St Johnstone a more desirable enterprise for anyone looking to take it on?  Assets who could get injured next week always seem to be second favourite to cash in the tin.
I dunno, it's easy to complain and whine, but the club has continued to be in a financially secure position despite the ever increasing gulf in money in professional football between the 'big clubs' and the also rans, and a worldwide pandemic that removed almost all income for the club, both on and off the park.  Even if he is looking after number 1, the outcome is still that we'll never be a Dundee/Rangers/Gretna etc. etc.
Looking forward to some more fixtures so we can get behind the team again.

    https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/sport/football/st-johnstone/2502758/callum-davidson-st-johnstone-didnt-block-perth-managers-big-move-to-blackburn-rovers-and-it-wasnt-right-to-start-doing-that-with-jason-kerr-and-ali-mccann/
“Both boys wanted to go,” said Davidson. “These were life-changing moves. “People will say that we could have held on to Ali (who had two years left on his contract compared to Kerr’s one) for another window but you can’t choose when an opportunity comes along. “It was similar to my own career when Blackburn came in. “I obviously spoke to Ali and he was desperate to go. “Both players absolutely loved it at St Johnstone and that did make it hard for them to leave. “But they knew that football-wise these were great moves for both of them.”
He added: “We wouldn’t turn down bid after bid because this is part of their development. I want Jason to go on to play for Scotland and for Ali to have a brilliant career. “The timing was unfortunate because we didn’t really have any contact from the clubs until the last day of the window. “With Ali’s one, I was just about to go home. I thought it wasn’t going to happen – that was late into the night. “I didn’t think I’d lose him all window or even that last night.”
It will be reassuring for Saints fans that Davidson and his chairman, Steve Brown, were on the same page.
“Ultimately decisions like this do lie with the money men,” said the manager. “We’ve had the Covid situation for 18 months. It’s about doing what’s right for the club and the players. “Football-wise, this was right for both lads. “It’s not as if we’ve been bullied but it’s a classic case of a bigger club coming in with a big bid right at the end of the window. “You see it happening elsewhere. “The offer was a good one, when you take into account the sell-on and everything else. “But obviously, as a manager, it doesn’t give me much time. “What I would say is, I would still have gone for Cammy MacPherson (the midfielder signed from St Mirren on loan for the season) even if this had happened a couple of weeks ago. “I believe he’s a top young player. I’ve been keeping an eye on him for a while. “I could have done other things as well, though. “You speak to other managers and they’ll tell you it’s their worst nightmare when a big club comes in for one of your players like that. “It’s something I’ve learned now. “This is probably the first time it’s happened to us – having a problematic last day before the deadline.”
There was fan fury at the fee of £1.2 million up front for McCann but Davidson insisted that the clauses in the deal for future revenue was key, as it was with Wigan, to agreement being reached. “The deals wouldn’t have gone through if it hadn’t been for the sell-ons,” he pointed out. “They’re massive for the club. “I believe that both boys will go on to bigger and better things.”

I think you'll find that now that the dust has settled and  the detail of the deal is known fans are starting to see the bigger picture and a lot of that anger has dissipated.
Fans are always unhappy when one of their favourites leave that will always be the case.
I totally disagree with all your points.
St.Johnstone are a business that is the envy of every club in Scotland.

Average player salaries in the Championship are reported to be £29,000 a week, compared to league one where it is £4,750 a week.  What is our pay structure?  £2k a week?
I'd suggest that increasing his salary from £100,000 a year to £1.5m would be pretty life changing.  A 4 year contract - I'd definitely say £6m was life changing!

Hope he’s not senile. I was behind him in the car queue before the LASK game. His car is bigger than most houses. He had a huge grin on his face. Got waved through with much “Mr Brown, sir”-ing. I told the car park guy “ I’m with Mr Brown”.
Turns out the car park guy a) Does not have a sense of humour, and b) Knows a LOT of swear words.

I've calmed down a wee bit now. I'm genuinely chuffed for Kerr and McCann to have got moves they wanted - as mentioned above they'll get game time at their clubs, and have every chance to progress to bigger things.  I wish them every success and thoroughly enjoyed watching them at Saints.
What still angers me is the McCann deal.  We, as fans, are often a bit off the mark with valuations, but in this case the chairman himself had (admittedly somewhat vaguely) put a value on his head months ago, and then proclaimed that an offer of around half that was too good to turn down, at the last minute of the window with no chance to source a replacement.
I think Callum has done pretty well to get a few loans in under the circumstances.

Relegation fodder now I fear.  Absolutely horrendous transfer deadline day completely bursts the feel good bubble that the Euro games created.  Totally gutted.
I guess the feeling that the chairman will be sipping champagne to celebrate a wonderful evening makes it all seem so much worse - and inevitable.
St Johnstone once again officially a diddy club.

I still think there's a potential goalscorer in Hendry.  He needs a bit of confidence.  Unfortunately, the quality of service he's getting is not going to give him that.

Absolutely gutted about that. I think we paid the price for not putting that game to bed in the first leg when we were on top. Callum then pushed those guys through another full game v United and again last night we really needed something fresh from the 60th minute mark.
It is understandable how it then fell to pieces, some nice moves by them and Rooney lost his man twice. Still convinced the penalty was the wrong choice and the ref took a long time to call it.
Can only assume Spoony was frustrated from his time out and then getting a fair hefty shove in the back when he did come on. Just as the mistake McCart made in the first leg it was a very rare lack of judgement from Spoony.
I thought the FCU were absolutely immense last night, exactly what has been said before they create amazing atmosphere and they cut out the idiocy.
    Murray Davidson though  some performance!
Fairly sure that is the last time we will see Ali McCann in a Saints strip, for now. Hope we have a composed midfielder lined up.

After sleeping on it, I'm less angry and just proud of what we've seen.  We went toe to toe with two big big European teams, and with a bit of luck or ref decision here or there the outcomes could have been different.
Considering some of the St Johnstobe matches I've been to in my lifetime, the last few months has been the stuff of utter fantasy.
I hope the players put an arm around spoony and it doesn't affect him too badly.  An adrenaline fueled mistake, move on.
