went to the tampa bay rays baseball game on tues night. the difference in stewarding is incredible. i know its a totally different sporting culture and americans like everything big and cheesy. but as we got to the stadium there were stewards outside the ticket office and turnstiles with welcoming smiles asking if you needed assistance. got in and the steward at our section took us to our seats asked if we had been before , i said it was our 1st match so he went an got to badges for the kids saying 1st rays game. half way through the game he came back over with 2 balls used in the practice for the kids. if we needed anything answered just ask. he took our photos and was encouraging the crowd to stand up and cheer, yes STAND UP. 
a lot of it wouldnt work but g4s etc have a lot to earn. a simple welcoming smile is a start

I've been through a doj investigation at my old company, brutal experience, for everyone in the company, not just those indited. Ended with 4 colleagues going to jail, big case, lots of publicity.
 
The more of a news story it is the more these govt. attorney generals want the action to help their careers. They have the resources and big egos and will fuk you up. This will not end well for Blatter, I'll take that bet with anyone now. People will roll over and this thing will unravel going back many years. They will get subpoenas on every message, e-mail, text for the last 10+ years and build a case, slowly but surely. They will get access to all evidence from other countries, through the back door if needed and its hard federal time at the end of the road, so 4 years is 4 years, not 50% of.

Had to share....just back to office after popping along to Ainslie Park. My son's P6 school team (Bonaly Primary) have just won the Scottish Schools Cup
 
The finals consisted of the two qualifiers from each of north, south, east and west. Split into two leagues of 4, they won 2-0, drew 0-0, and were drawing 2-2 in final section game when Ben scored with 1 minute to go. Drawn and they were out!
 
The final started nervously, Ben clearing a fumble from our keeper off the line at 0-0.....Bonaly broke the deadlock and it stayed 1-0 for a while before they increased the lead to 2-0. The opposition (from Glasgow) fell to pieces after that and Bonaly ran out 7-0 winners in the end.

All I'd say is that with the benefit of having discussed things offline with Athens, I'd encourage Abernethy to do the same.  It might not resolve the dispute, but it might. I think he might be surprised.  I don't have Athen's email address - if anyone has it could they maybe PM it to me?

Absolutely. Time to get this sorted. John will know full well that he went too far but the other protagonist involved in the unsavoury exchange should do the decent thing and request his reinstatement. Come on mods it's not beyond the wit of man to sort this out with appropriate cautions.

Other than trying to push a few buttons, albeit badly, based on his attempt to be the stereotype expat Tory, I don't see how he stepped over any line worthy of a life ban.
