I don't buy this stuff for a second. You guys think that if Rangers, or Aberdeen, or any English Championship/League 1 side had dangled a bigger salary in front of his nose on deadline day that he'd have chosen Saints? Absolutely no chance. Not that it matters now, of course - he's ours and I'm very much looking forward to seeing him back in a Saints shirt - but after the way he's twice ditched us in the past let's not all pretend he's got some sort of massive loyalty to Saints.
 

That is just bullshit as far as I'm concerned, if so Tommy has majorly ****ed up, priority one was a center midfielder, there is no argument to be had on that. 
Pointless getting wingers and strikers if we can't get the ball effectively to them.
I would get rid of Alston, Craig, wotherspoon and to be honest scougal, who I thought was bought for that position. I honestly fail to see where the latter fits into any effective formation we play.

This was no pre-season friendly and I don’t think you can expect or accept the fact it appeared that way.Saints should have had more than enough to take care of East Fife in normal time wheather  it was the first or last competitive game of the season.
Watt should have had the first 45 minutes not the second.I feel had he been on in the opening spell when we were on top his direct strong running coupled with Wright’s good play we could have had something to show for our efforts.
McMillan did very little,Scougall even less,I don’t get Scougall,loads of hype on his arrival about his mazy runs, trickery; finding a pass and the likes but I have yet to be convinced.
Folk claim little threat down the left well thank God for Tanser’s willingness to make runs if not for him there would be none.Liam (one foot) Craig for me is now someone who should start games from the bench,there’s no doubting his commitment but he has to engineer the ball onto his left peg then spray an inaccurate pass to nobody.Spoony,brilliant or poor,no guesses which today he’s got get consistency  built in there.
East Fife undoubtedly had a plan and it struck me they were being more street wise and had they scored from that fist half header(was it a save or the wood work that stopped it)then I think we would have struggled to have gotten anything from the remainder of the game.
On the plus’s side the new kit didn’t look that bad in the flesh and at a distance.

Folk forget that years ago he was quite happy to walk out on the club and go to Australia. Luckily for us it fell through and he stayed. 
Remember the players have all the power when it comes to contracts so to say he was treated badly when a club decide not to play a player or offer a new contract is totally unfair.

TW has been dealt with the hand he has and it has been difficult to get the players he wanted because other clubs around us offered better terms, he's scraping the barrel to get what he can afford to get and in my opinion he's getting slated here with his hands tied behind his back by a miserly chairman. I understand that we have to cut our cloth accordingly to our budget but it's not doing us any favours to bring in decent players as they will go for better cash, not top six perennial finishes with a good team ethic.
Getting rid of him proves nothing, we could still be in trouble with Alex Ferguson in charge and no means to change it..... may as well give him the chance to get us out of the pickle were in . At least the fixture pile up has been slightly relieved....
 

Having tread this again it is a bit of a self penned "Testimonial"  ! p.s. nobody has ever doubted that you are a Saints fan but you are totally out of order with the descriptions of fans who still have faith in TW and the team.! we are entitled to see the glass as half full if we choose to do that .! in essence you are unhappy that many of us still have a positive attitude to the situation. The pitch was terrible and I wondered if nimble footed Scougal would have thrived when bigger more cumbersome guys struggled to Keep their footing but if he is recovering from injury I suposse it could have been risky.Foster played well,Matty on a decent surface will run a mock with some teams,why do we not see more of Joe's big throws it's almost as good as a corner.Every Hearts out field player will know that Muzz played today,he was a machine.Pleased with performance/effort on that alone we will be up for the battle.

Hearts keeper MOM.! a well deserved choice.! It was a truly disappointing result after a very decent performance.! They worked their socks off when we went down to ten men.! thats all I ever ask for from the Saintees.!

Usual s*** . Kane had an excellent game today. Denied by the bar, a quality save and a good effort when reacting to a rebond. Might be worth watching the highlights before spouting your usual negative guff.
Yes I am disappointed at the result too but the fact is that we did play well today. On another day we could easily have been 2-0 up.

Faith in too many players who have performed in the past but have underperformed this season.  As has been outlined by numerous others, (I agree with them)  something like 7 of the starting XI in the cup final team are still at the club and really are in the twilight of their careers - that's being tactful.  It is sad to see the demise of players of high calibre historically.  I read with interest the prevous posts surrounding the end of Dasovic's career, a quite exceptional talent who played for the club. 
"Love is blindness" as the song goes..  You are only as good as your last game.  Monday night was extremely encuraging on many levels.  Our future is what we want it to be, not grasping to previous glories.  It starts with the nucleus of the team on Monday.....onwards...

Am I right in remembering Tommy cried to any one that would listen about not getting a break/training in the sun a few weeks back,no amount of warm weather training would improve that shower,a few home truths might.

Tommy says we will have to wait untill the end of the window untill we may bring fresh faces in.Brace yourselves here come the scraps off others tables and we’ll rehab/resurrect careers yet again
