jhq
Just thinking that a young lad from the Raploch estate in Stirling, being offered 20k a week at 20 years old might have given him a distraction, once he has bagged the deal, he can get back to thinking about his long term career, one can be a little more confident witha 6 or 7 figure bank account. As you point out attitude is clearly questionable, Levein had a torrid time trying to instil professionalism into the lad, I was merely surmising that if the ELP are approaching yer agent, and Liverpool did when he was 16, it involves life changing amounts of cash. In all fairness, he's not the first player to think he's a big shot when he's not. Doesn't make it any less frustrating though when a young Scottish player with obvious talent wastes that talent. Sadly, with the money available to average players these days, it's not going to change any time soon. When you see a player like Darren Fletcher be so unlucky with illness after showing such a great attitude throughout his career, it's sad to see players who are probably technically better throw it away through poor attitude. Goodwillie is an example of just such a player, but at least he still has time on his side.

Capped at every level, chipped the keeper from 30 yards in a cup final, signed for an EPL club, signed twice for the World Famous Dundee United............and as you say stll go his best years ahead of him. Seriously, would hate to see him become another Charlie Millar. That boy had talent to burn, and he did!
