He hung around with David Bowie and Iggy Pop during a really good period in 1the early 970's with tons of other great stuff going on in every type of music entertainment, not just a one music fashion era. People say he was the father of punk bu 6 years later punk appeared as a fashion based on angry about something young cockneys. :)

Can't remember who said it, might have been Brian Ferry. "Lou's first album only sold 10,000 copies, but everyone who bought it went on to form a band".

Really nice epitaph that. Lou was his own man. He never was waitin on any other man...

It was Brian Eno that said it about the first velvet underground album.
